What are all the perks for staying onsite? Are the perks the same for all the hotels? FOTL- is a perk but who get unlimited and who gets one use? If you stay at Port do the boats take you to the parks? Do the other hotels offer transport to the parks?

These are the 'perks' and, yes they're the same for all 3 resorts:

  • Universal Express ride access: With Universal Express, hotel guests can bypass the regular lines at select rides and attractions. Just present your hotel room key card at the attractions in both theme parks and enjoy use of the special express queue! (On-site hotel privileges good for hotel stay as indicated on the room key card. Only good for the number of guests staying in the room. Paid theme park admission required. Some attractions excluded. Not valid for separately ticketed special events. Additional restrictions may apply.)
  • Complimentary on-site transportation via water taxi between Universal Orlando hotels and theme parks
  • Complimentary scheduled bus transportation to Universal Orlando, SeaWorld and Wet ‘n Wild
  • Priority seating at select Universal Orlando restaurants
  • Complimentary package delivery of purchases throughout Universal Orlando to your room
  • Use your on-site hotel room key card to charge purchases at select food and merchandise location

Each person staying in a room gets FOTL access (make sure you get a room key card for each person when checking in, even if you don't want them all to have charging privileges). I'm not sure what the official line is currently on how many times you can use your Express privileges per attraction. Last time we were there (in May this year), I think it was supposed to be once per hour, but it all depends on whether or not there's a CM scanning your card as you enter the Express line.

All 3 hotels run water taxis and buses to CityWalk. From HRH and RPR it's often quicker to walk.

What would be one of the cheaper rates I could look for in October at any of the on-site hotels?

AAA had a rate of 179.20 @ the Royal Pacific. That's about 49.80 less than rack which is 229.00.

I was going to take an AAA rate of $237 on Aug. 5-8/05, but checked the rate using an AP and got a rate of $179. It was $175 savings, so we got 1 annual pass online and the other 3 got the online $99 get 5 day deal. Basically my husband's AP was "free" and you can use it for deals at restaurants etc. around Universal and City Walk. :flower:

**Check every day and make changes if the rates go down. Some days the AP rate didn't show up and then a few days later it was there, but unfortunaltely it didn't get cheaper - (end of holidays / weekend)

What part of October?
The rates "change" on Oct 5th, the lowest (AP Prices) are $129 for RPR Oct 1-4 and $159 for Oct 5th thru Nov
