A&E Stampede this morning was insane!!!

MK EMH this morning and we were at the front of the rope. Luckily my kids have little to no interest in characters so we weren't trying for the A&E meet. I was stunned at the hundred+ people who ran full speed down Main Street. I've never seen anything like it!

I've done the Dumbo dash back when it was necessary and have been first to TSMM a few times, but this was like nothing that I've ever seen.

I'm sure they're going to have to do something different soon so people don't get hurt. It was madness.

we used to call TSM 'the running of the bulls' back when everyone was let go from a rope. It was manic - was this morning really that bad .....I can't imagine it being worse (my mind would explode LOL)

Wow.....who would have thought that Anna & Elsa would become the new TSMM. Especially- with it being a character meet and greet and not a "ride". I thought "everyone" wanted rides......I thought wrong!!!!! I don't know if this makes the other lines shorter or draws in larger crowds that will eventually make lines longer. Eh.... it doesn't really matter.

Were CMs trying to slow people down? When I've done the TSMM running of the bulls, either regular CMs or green army men kept the crowd under some degree of control. And they yelled at runners to walk.

When we were in DLR a few weeks ago, we did RD for A&E. People were straight up sprinting down Main Street, and CMs were just waving giant Mickey hands and smiling at them. I walked very fast and jogged a tiny bit, but I was just shocked by the way people were running. I thought running (other than at Disney race events) was a big no-no at Disney.

I have a feeling many people don't want to "waste" a FP+ on A&E when there are so many hot attractions at MK that they want FP+s for...especially if you plan on doing RD. Considering this, I'm not sure moving A&E to MK was a good thing.

This has a valid point. I wonder if the ability to book more will change that? Though with the FP for A&E (isn't that a TV channel?) going so quickly (I haven't checked avalibility since I heard more opened up recently), it could still be a rush for those not able to get one.

Couldn't they use a big rope and walk people wanting to go to A&E back there? They've done that for Everest, Soarin', and Cars Land at DCA (I wanna say I saw people doing that for TSM at DHS, but not sure. I'm not a big fan of TSM and have never actually gotten a FP from there, but got them by chance. It still surprises me that the TSM at DCA is not a FP ride).

The wait times for TSM at CA isn't nearly as bad as HS. There are more rides at CA that are family friendly unlike HS. It's really not necessary, you can get on the rides mid week with a 20 minute wait sometimes.

Why can't we have Anna and Elsa still at EPCOT,until they craziness dies down a little? Maybe add them to a " Princess Breakfast"
Its hard to add another attraction, but a character's should be easier I would hope

My friend was also there and she was trying for A&E.. she texted me a picture at 8:30am of the wait time outside.... 300 minute wait at 8:30am!!! Park wasn't even open to offsite guests yet! How insane is that. So needless to say, they said no way since they could not get FP's and they went and saw Cinderella and Repunzel within 5 minutes she said.

Absolutely rediculous for the line to be that long so early in the day!

It amazes me every time I see these threads about A&E wait times. It just boggles my mind that there are so many people out there willing to wait that long and very thankful DS had no interest in princesses.

I agree that Disney has to do more than just this move to MK, which I'm assuming was to help with crowd control. Stopping the running would be the first obvious safety thing to do. I also agree with the suggestion of adding them to one of the princess meals, that would help alleviate some of that M&G wait time.

The hype will eventually die down, but I'm not sure that's any time soon, so they may need to consider adding a 2nd option somewhere, like maybe back in Epcot.

Hoping it's not worse than TSM, but it seems that it is. A couple of years ago my seriously pregnant self almost got trampled trying to get OUT of the way for TSM. Yikes!

I'm suprised that they allow, or at least haven't done anything about the actual running. Isn't the pavement usually wet in the morning from cleaning? I remember times that I've tried to run to TSMM at rope drop and I had at least 3 different CMs telling us very sternly to walk.

Unless stand-by is completely done away with (never happen), there's no way you'll ever stop folks from running to the main attractions for the first/quick stand-by rides in the morning.
