A Dream Come True - 2/6/11 4-day Bahama Cruise

Thanks! I actually just booked it with my Travel Agent as part of my cruise package. Now the night before the cruise is all set. Getting to Orlando--not so much!

Jim and Shannan want to take Amtrak. We've done it before, and it's really a nice way to travel. I still have to price all that stuff out. It might be better for us, because we tend to be a bit "luggage intensive" and it gets expensive to fly!

I love the train! We took Amtrak when we moved from NY to Portland. (we had rooms) It took 3 days and I loved every minute of it. Too bad the rooms are soooo expensive. I'd take the train all the time otherwise.

My son (he was 21 at the time) and I took the train from Chicago to San Diego 14 years ago this week. We had taken the bus from New York to Chicago. After our stay out there, we took a Greyhound Bus all the way from San Diego to Newark, New Jersey. It was an amazing trip! I would do the train part over again any time. I don't think I would EVER do that bus trip again! It was five days across the country with beautiful scenery and no chance to take a shower.

Not a bad looking group, I suppose! Men always look SO GOOD in tuxes. I think instead of overalls you should all wear tuxes for the entire cruise, except, of course, any water-related activities. I'd hate to see soggy bow ties!:thumbsup2

FYI - none of us are wearing pants in that shot :thumbsup2

Which one of you boys want to tell the rest of the crew about my aversion to clothes and my love of monkeys?

I disappeared for a few months and look how long this thread got!! With the release of all the discounts today, we just booked a post-cruise stay at POR for 3 nights! We also got engaged a few weeks ago, so this will be our last hoorah before the wedding (which will be in Disney in 2012) :yay:

I can't wait until more information about Remy comes out, our 3 year anniversary will be during the cruise so I want to try it. We LOVE French food.

This cruise is going to be a blast!!!

princesswendy - congrats!

In the photo-
I'm the golden hair god in the center
Mike is on my left
Paul my husband is on my right
And that is the insipid staff in the back.
Except for the guy in the middle - who will be my second husband after I kill off Paul from all the sex.

Congratulations on the engagement!

I'm working on booking my post-cruise stay, too. These new discounts are really confusing all of my choices. I gave up and am getting a quote on a package at Pop Century and a room-only at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Once I have those two extremes, I should be able to decide something!

Hooray! Congrats!! We're in the process of booking a pre-stay at Pop Century. Oddly, I've always wanted to stay there but until my husband got cheap on me (:rotfl:) I've never had the opportunity. But he won't go to the parks. I figure staying in Florida in February is still probably nicer than Michigan!
