A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

There are parts of fantasyland that will open this fall (yay for me! I'm going in October!) and the rest should be done by mid-2013.

I can't believe you didn't want to ride side saddle!!

So I get motion sick on the tea cups - even watching them makes me nauseous! I take dramamine before we go on cruises or even to the parks for things like BTMRR and Soarin (which I love) and I'm fine. What about Star Tours? I've never been on it, and would like to, but I'm concerned I'll feel sick. HOw long does the ride last anyway? Anyone have any advice, thoughts?

Fantasyland is supposed to be open in stages. So that means if you're going later in the year.... *ahem*..... then you might see parts of it.

Okay bomp all y'all little travelin' selves.:rotfl2:

I'm going to rummage around and find myself a ticker.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'll be back.

It really was wonderful. :goodvibes

We have a schedule. I make it up before we go and we usually stick to it. But sometimes there is a day or 2 in there that are up in the air -- like our last full day on this trip, I knew it would be either MK or Epcot, but didn't set anything in stone. We also did not have an ADR on this day, so that helps keep the day flexible too.

The best time to see the parks not so crowded and to ride the rides is at park opening, and on a non EMH day. I always find Tuesdays to be a great day for DHS, Wednesdays to be the best day for MK, and Thursdays for Epcot. So those are the days we plan to get the most done in the parks.

Hope that helps a bit! :)

It sure does! Thanks so much. :worship: I guess I was/am a bit confused about RD, some people swear by it, whereas other people avoid at all costs. When I read the comparisons of the two, I often lean towards avoiding RD. I guess maybe because we have no ADR's, just a quick-service dining plan, and we are not going on many of the main attractions at the different parks, I feel like we can be a bit more flexible, since we will have more time to see the things we want to see. Does that make sense?

MK was definately a good choice for your last day. I have never seen that sword come out except on televised shows, I know it did not budge when DS :littleangel: tried it our first trip. There must be a button someplace that a CM pushes to release that sword.

I love the teacups one of my favorite rides in MK but I will not do Space Mt or Splash Mt or BTMR fast and height I do not like but spinning is ok with me.

I have never rode the carousel, I loved riding them when I was little and would love to but I just have never done it as an Adult other than to stand beside my DS when they were little so they felt secure on the horse.

No line at a small world that was lucky.

Dumbo or rather Double Dumbo was suppose to be up and running by February but now they have moved the re-opening to March 12 so I guess all I wll see will be those Ugly walls tool :sad2:

What's up with Sword in the Stone anyway??? I found a whole thread on that saying some kids have pulled it up and their brother/sister couldn't do it but then they were able to do it again. I guess I need to read through the thread to find out. Have you heard about this phenomenon?
My kids would rather die than go on IASM. I dragged them on in August and they were ready to kill me!:rotfl: They hadn't been on that ride since their first trip. They told me NEVER again. So that ride is now off limits. Ah the teacups- I won't go on those either.

Did you get a lot of snow? We're getting it now calling for 4-6 in. I hate snow it ruins everything. DS14's hockey game got cancelled. It drives me crazy being stuck in the house. Makes me feel like I should be cleaning or something. lol

Deb :)

My first of many tickers for this trip.;)

Plans are subject to change without notice.

Soooooooooo far away!!!!!!!!:headache:

Okay, I didn't dream that up!! So mid 2013 for it to be all done? Last time I was there it looked like they still had quite aways to go. Hope it all comes together in time! :goodvibes

:lmao:I guess I could have ridden side saddle!! :rotfl2:

I don't know about Star Tours. I can't see how it would cause motion sickness, but I guess some people are more sensitive to that than others. I think it's more jerky than anything. Think Dinosaur. I'm not sure how long ST lasts, doesn't seem too long to me. I think you would be fine.

Well, what did ya come up with??? Where's that ticker? popcorn::

Lucky -- getting to see some of FL opened up!!! :cool1:

I would never avoid RD. I don't know why anyone would say that!! :confused3

Sure, it looks crowded when you get there but once all those people go their own ways it is not crowded at all! Usually around 11am more and more people start rolling in. I call them the sleeper in-ers. And by lunchtime the crowd is pretty good. That's why we either do RD or wait until around 3pm to get to the park for the evening. That's about when a lot of the rope drop-ers are heading out of the park!

But yes, if you are not doing any ADR's and aren't planning on the more popular attractions then you can be very flexible!

You are lucky to be able to do spinny!! I wish I could.

No line at IASW was very lucky. Usually it's only like that at opening!

It sure will be interesting to see how all the openings in FL play out...

IDK what is up with that sword. :confused3 I need to find something to read up on it too. My kids have dreamt up the theory that it is on a timer and we are never there at the right time. :rotfl:

I am ready to be done with IASW, but the kids say it's tradition, so I guess we have to keep doing it!!

We got about 3-4 inches I think. They were saying we were getting this big snowstorm, but we hardly got anything!

Woohoo!! :woohoo: Love the new ticker. But yes, I know you will change it several times! :upsidedow:rotfl:

Soooooooooo far away!!!!!!!!:headache:

Nice New Ticker! So Mid-November? Change :confused3 are you a resort or date changer or one of those rare both type of changers? :rotfl:

I was trying to work on mid- November dates for maybe a BB trip but it will have to be only 3-4 days and cheap :lmao:

3-4 inches of snow is nothing to PA...:rotfl2:

Put that here and we'd be inside for a week.

As far as the sword--- I've heard that there is a CM around somewhere that has a button they push to release it.
IDK if that's really true or not. We've never been able to get it to work. Drew even did a dance to the Sword gods ---- I have pics of it---- and they didn't smile fondly upon him. So IDK what it takes to get it to work.

Sheila----- Thanks! Actually it's December 11th that we arrive. That date is pretty set. A cousin is getting married in the Wedding Pavillion and having their reception at the GF on the 15th. So---- it's a matter of discounts to see if we can swing the GF or not. So I guess it's the resort part that might change.

Sheree--- I know, right??? The luxury of time.:lmao:

Shelly--- oh you know it's all gonna be changed around a bazillion ways by then. You just get to hear about them all.

:rotfl2:

Jeez, I wish I had a relative getting married at the Wedding Pavilion. Or anywhere in Florida - so I had an excuse to go to WDW! I hope you can score a good deal Jo. That part of December is great - all the Christmas stuff is out - it's just beautiful! And not Super-Crowded!!

Hmmm, I don't get it? Why didn't you guys want to ride the teacups? :rolleyes1

My favorite seat on the carousel is the granny bench! That would have worked perfectly for your sundress issue.

I am so jealous with all this vacation talk. It seems like you just got back and here you are off again in a few months! :snooty: I think I am going to go get myself a fake ticker to make me feel better. :sad1:

3-4 inches is just a dusting here. Nothing to get worked up about. :lmao: Hey I think last winter you actually got more snow than me!! Or maybe it just seemed that way because you guys cancel school whenever you get an inch!!

I'm so excited for your December trip! :santa: That will be an awesome time to go. And a wedding. :cloud9: How fun!

My DS12 was telling your DS12 how great the Christmas decorations are the last time they were texting! :yay:

I hope you get an awesome discount so you can stay at the GF again. :wizard: I know how much you loved it there.

Hmmm, I don't get it? Why didn't you guys want to ride the teacups? :rolleyes1

Tea Cups.

I thought about that - sitting on the granny bench. :rotfl: But I decided to just hang back and take pics instead!

Well we've been back from vacation for over 4 months now. I'm just taking forever to write this TR so that's why it seems like we just got back!!

Get a fake ticker. :thumbsup2 Sometimes those 'fake trips' turn into reality. :goodvibes

A wedding and Christmas in Disney sounds fantastic. I think your dates fall during the current BB offer if so maybe you will get a nice discount when Disney puts out a GP offer so you can stay GF

Hooray for the new ticker!!!!

Your boys gave the sword a great try! I wish I knew how it worked. I couldn't believe it when my DS pulled it up and I really wish I knew what made it happen. :confused3

Love your sundress. If I ever go in summer I'm definitely going to go the sundress route. You could always ride the carousel side-saddle liek a proper lady!

YAY!! :yay:

We have talked about driving down too, but it never seems to happen. I think the trip down sounds fun with getting to stop places and things, but it's that drive back that I think would ruin the second half of my vacation just thinking about it!! :scared1:

Don't even let the thought of driving enter your mind!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :scared1:

After we were done on IASW DS12 and I split up from DH & DS10 again. They headed for the Haunted Mansion. And we went to ride BTMRR!

We rode twice – with no wait!! We even got to pick our seats. Once we rode in the back seat and once in the front seat. DS insists that the back is faster than the front!

We took a little video from our front seat ride! (Click on picture below)

After that we all met back up and headed into Adventureland to check out the wait time on POTC. Which was also – you guessed it, NO WAIT!!

After that we somehow ended up back in front of the castle.

Then we decided we were getting hungry for some lunch. I had decided that we would give Pinnochio Village Haus a try this time, since Casey's Corner had closed a few days prior for refurbishment. So we headed back to Fantasyland, only for them to tell us that they were without power when we got there. What a bummer. Nowhere else in the park was without power, just there. . .

We wandered around not quite knowing what to do next. I guess we happened to walk past the sword and the boys decided to give it one more try!!

And nope – nothing!!

On that side of the park there really weren't a ton of choices for lunch. We weren't necessarily starving quite yet, but we wanted something. We ended up stopping at Friar's Nook and getting some homemade chips and a frozen lemonade to hold us over while we decided.

After that we just wandered around a bit more and looked at all the construction going on and then ended up in Tomorrowland. Right in front of Cosmic Rays. We had ate there once before and weren't real big fans, but we thought we'd go in anyway and get a couple meals to all share.

We ended up with a hot dog meal – which the kids shared. And a grilled chicken sandwich meal that DH & I shared. DS10 really liked the hot dog, which says a lot. He usually hates most foods! Our sandwich was good as well.

Total Price: Around $20
Rating: 7 out of 10

After we were done eating we all decided that we had done and seen everything we wanted to at MK and we were ready to head back over to the Poly! And we went back to the castle for some more pics before we headed out.

Up Next: More MK and Back to the Poly

Wow! To have so much downtime to just wander and look around. No lines, no waits.....this is everyone's dream trip my dear!!! I am really hoping we have some time like this during our trip. (maybe the no-lines is a bit far-fetched, but at the very least some downtime to just browse around) I'm so sad your TR is coming to an end! :(

I wish I could figure that sword out too!! Your DS was very lucky! :cool1:

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm hoping it's nice and warm when we go in Apr/May so I can wear the sundresses again.

I will have to ride side-saddle next time.

Don't worry, the thought of driving is always ruined when I read your TR's!!! :scared1:

It really was a dream trip! :cloud9: And I went into it not expecting much because of the heat and DH's hernia. I can't believe how awesome everything turned out!

I hope the crowds are super low for your trip! :wizard:
