A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

We like EOS, but not the kids. The kid options are not great. The line is always long!!
So excited about Legoland. I wish they had it about 5 years ago.

Was the family pic in your avatar, taken by a Disney photographer? I meant to ask you that when you had it in your TR but forgot.

We're okay with EOS, but I think next time we will go to Wolfgang's. If we have enough time.

Legoland - I had just recently heard about it too. They did a review on the DIS unplugged podcast not that long ago. I think there are pictures etc. up on the site too. Your son would go nuts! I think it would be fun to surprise him with it! It's really easy and quick to rent a car from over at the Swan/Dolphin too!

Yeah, I don't think EOS has a whole lot of kid friendly food!

No, that pic is with my camera. It has a button to set a little timer (like 10 seconds maybe) and it shoots automatically. I had wanted to do a family photo shoot at the Poly since we were staying there and we hadn't had a professional family pic since like 2006! But then I looked at the prices. :scared1: It was a crazy price and it was for only 20 minutes!! So I packed us all some decent clothes anyway and on our last night at the Poly we went out and did our very own photo shoot!! And it went surprisingly well! :goodvibes We got some really nice photos. I can post them when I get to that day if anyone wants to see them!

We haven't been to WPE in awhile, I'd like to go back maybe next time!

I have been looking at pics and videos and Legoland looks very impressive. I know he will be so surprised and excited!! IDK how I'm going to keep it a secret though!

I was thinking that we could rent a car from the S/D. That would be super easy. I wonder what it would cost to rent a car for just a day...

Now I remember us talking about EOS!!!! I'm not sure if I want to blame my age or my hair color.

I liked EOS fine, but I've never been blown away by it. I like the local Panera or Atlanta Bread co just as well I think.

Sorry your son had melty PB. I know he thought it was gross. Your sandwich might have been better as a salad.

Well, at least you know now that you don't have to go back to that restaurant anymore. It just isn't your cup of tea! At least the smoothie was good!!

Looking forward to hearing about your dismeet.

Could be either. :rotfl:

Yeah, I just don't get what the big deal is about EOS. :confused3 You're right, my sandwich would have been better as a salad!

:lmao::rotfl2:

Forgot to say yay for legoland!

And I'll help you get a decent rate for a car...

Yes, you know that I know nothing about renting a car!! :scared1: I will need your help for sure! Hey maybe I will finally get to drive thru Celebration! :thumbsup2

EOS is just OK with me, my wife and sons like it a lot. To me, it is just nice to have something different than same old quick service park food. I am looking forward though to having Pollo Campero in June!

Sea:cool1:

I love the idea that you will surprise your DS with a trip to LegoLand.

I have read nothing but good reviews about Eos sometimes I think the sandwiches sound and look good and other times not so much but I always thought I would like to try eating there one day, but on second thought there is so much to choose from in DTD maybe especially now that they added so many new restaurants in DTD to the DP plus with the long waits at EOS I will pass on it. Sorry they had nothing DS12 liked

I wondered also about your new pic, it came out really good, I have never tried using the timer on a camera.

On a side note, I have been researching renting a car this trip and if you do stay at BC I know you can rent a car at the Dolphin from Alamo, their rates do not seem to bad plus there are various discounts at any given time.

I love it too!! :cool1: I think we will just tell them we are taking a road trip and not tell them where we are going and they can find out when we get there!

You should give EOS a try if you have time. You might like it. I just wouldn't make a special trip there for it.

I love the timer button on the camera! I think I forgot to mention that I got a new camera for Christmas. :santa: I haven't tried the timer button on it yet. I'm excited to take the new camera to WDW!! It's so small & light!

Okay, thanks. I knew they rented cars from the S/D but I didn't know what company it was. I'll have to check it out as soon as we get our 2012 dates set! :goodvibes

Wow!!! That's awesome. You have a great camera, cuz I thought it was a photographer. I wanted to do the family pic too but I thought the same thing way too much $$$$.
I did take a pic of the boys on a hammock on the beach for our Christmas card.

Deb :)

EOS- You know how I feel about the melty PB.

We looked into taking the kids to LegoLand this past trip but the added drive, time away from Disney, and extra cost kept us from doing it. Perhaps the next trip! :goodvibes DS was happy enough in the Lego store this trip.

Good to see you here!! I have been wondering where you have been. I figured you were still overwhelemed after vacation. Either that or depressed!!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed all the pics!

A few trips back I bought the Four Parks One World CD set, but honestly I listen to the Wishes CD more! :goodvibes Once in awhile I get out the 4 parks CD's and I randomly play a song and we play "Name that Disney tune"! The kids always beat DH!!

You are right - Jodi needs a do-over and it should involve a Dole Whip and the Poly! :cloud9:

A little of both to be honest! Thankfully it's more of being overwhelmed with getting back into the swing of daily life than depressed and missing Disney. For now...;)

Thanks! :goodvibes We really got some great pics. But unfortunately the hammock pics didn't come out too well. More than one person in the hammock made it looked all squashed, plus the kids were fighting -- he's touching me, he's leaning on me, blah blah blah, so I quickly gave up on the hammocks!

Yes, I forgot you are my non melty PB friend!!! None of that yucky stuff for us!:rotfl:

I think Legoland tix will cost us about $265, plus a rental car for the day....not sure what that will cost at all. We will have to eat, but we would have to eat anyway!! Hopefully it won't cost us a fortune to make the side trip there.

Well I'm glad to hear you are just overwhelmed and not depressed. I guess that is the better of the two!

I really hate that you didn't like EoS again. We haven't eaten there yet, but I have only heard good things about it. Maybe it's one of those places that you just haven't ordered the right thing yet. :confused3 I know we eat at a few places here at home where I like a certain thing on the menu and that's what I always get. I know you hate to keep spending money 'experimenting' though. I've really been wanting to try it out for years now, but I guess I need to find out what the most popular sandwich is and stick with that. There must be something good there for it to always be busy though. We always end up at WPE when we are there and have loved it every time. And it's such a good value on the DDP. Maybe if we ever go without the DDP, we'll give EoS a try since it's so cheap.

Yeah, I hear mostly good things about it too. It's just not for us I guess. :confused3 That's okay though, we would rather go to WPE or Pollo Campero when we are in DTD! Or T-Rex!! T-Rex is at the top of the list for next time! :thumbsup2

Good morning! :goodvibes Anyone up for a DIS Meet today??? :cool1:

After we were done with lunch at DTD we went out to the bus stop on the West Side and made our way back to the Poly. I believe our bus stopped at the Contemporary first.

When we got up to our room we had a little surprise!! We had never had such cool towel animals in all of our Disney trips!

The kids were so excited! They thought that was the coolest thing they had ever seen and they were now convinced that the Poly was the best resort ever!!

It was almost 1:00 now and I texted Jodi to let her know we were back at the Poly. Her and the kids were in line for Buzzlightyear and said they were going to ride BTMRR and then take the monorail over to see us!!

The kids got into their swimsuits so they could go in the pool later after we were done visiting with Jodi & the kids. Then we went out and of course all the tables by the pool were taken. So we got a nice quiet table outside behind Captain Cooks. And I texted Jodi to let her know where we were. She texted back that they had just got on the monorail at MK!! And then they were at the CT. And then they were at the TTC. And then she texted -- Next Stop the Poly!!!!! We were all so excited!:cool1:

This was our view looking towards the pool while we waited.

There weren't too many people at all in that seating area, so it was nice!

I kept looking towards the back entrance/exit of the GCH, expecting them to be coming out of there. But pretty soon I hear someone coming up behind me and it is Jodi!! :yay: They had snuck out the back of Captain Cooks!

We jumped up & down a bit and hugged and then had a seat and started chatting away. The kids hit it off right away and were talking about parks and rides and pins!

We sent DH to the lounge to get us all some drinks & snacks. And we visited for about an hour I suppose and then made plans to meet up later after they had dinner at Ohana! Then they made their way back to the GF. They took the walking path, rather than the monorail. We all wanted to see if the path was open or not, because we had heard before we left that it was closed because of the construction of the new DVC resort going on between the Poly & the GF. But the path was in-fact OPEN!!

Love the towel animals ! How funny. :thumbsup2

How cool that you got to meet up with a fellow Dis'er !

Looked like a nice visit. Did you guys know each other before or did you meet on the Dis? Was this the first time you met each other? It's always nice when your kids get along with friend's kids.
I hated it when all the tables at the pool were taken. I swear you need to be there by 8am!!

We thought they were so cute and the kids thought it was hilarious how she had put my sunglasses on them!!

DIS Meets are super fun! :cool1:

Jodi and I met here on the DIS about 5 years ago. We met on a May 2007 planning thread. Our trips overlapped that May, but we did not meet up. We figured out that we only lived about 30 minutes apart, so we met up for lunch one day later that year! Then a few months later she moved halfway across the country and we hadn't seen each other since. We of course talk every single day, but none of our WDW trips overlapped again, until this summer when they just 'happened' to! :rotfl:

The kids had a great time. Her son and my DS12 are the same age. They had actually been texting each other during our trip, so they finally got to see who they had been talking to! And her youngest DD and my DS10 are the same age and are very much alike. We always say that they were either separated at birth or destined to marry! And her oldest DD is such a sweetheart, everyone just loved her!

You are right -- you can never go to the Poly pool in the afternoon and expect to get a table! :upsidedow
