A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

After our Sci-Fi dinner DS12 and I headed to RNRC to use our fastpasses!

After 2 rides on RNRC next we headed over to the TOT!! We waited about 20 minutes to ride.

I don't exactly remember what DH & DS10 were doing while we were riding. Probably shopping! We met back up with them and talked about the rest of the evening. The original plan had been to stay for Fantasmic. We haven't seen it for a few years. But the more we talked about it the more I could see that no one was really too interested in staying. It was hot and the thought of sitting in a crowded theater with sweaty stinky people wasn't all that appealing. :scared1:

So we had some family pics taken and then headed back to CBR for the evening!

As soon as we got back to CBR the kids wanted to go to the arcade. They swear CBR has the best arcade of all the resorts!!

The kids decided they were hungry, it was now after 8:30 probably. And remember they hadn't ate any dinner at Sci-Fi? So we stopped by the food court and grabbed them some food!

And we just hung out at the resort the rest of the night!

So that is the end of Day 3. Not a very eventful day as you can see. I think I only have about 6 entries for this day and I had about 12 for day 2! :upsidedow Oh well, it was still a great day. Just hot!!

Up Next: Day 4 ~ Animal Kingdom

I can't think of a better way to end your day at DHS with rockin' rollercoaster and tower of terror! :thumbsup2

I wanted to let you know that the Sci Fi Diner has launched a new menu since your trip. I was at CBR at the same time as you!! We ate at Sci Fi and thought it was so-so this time. I was happy to hear about the new menu, so I'm definitely give it another try. Maybe I'll see you there next year! ;)

Yep - that was a great way to end the day for DS12 and I!! We love those rides! :thumbsup2

I hadn't heard that Sci-Fi got a new menu. I'll have to check it out!

How did you like CBR? What section did you stay in?

Welcome to the TR! :goodvibes

My apologies for being a lurker all these weeks!! I'm always excited to see updates in your trip report. We stayed in Martinique for our big family vacation with extended family. I've stayed at CBR before, but it was a first for the rest of the family and they absolutely loved it. We also love the Poly (memories of my childhood), but decided to finish our trip with a brief stay at Wilderness Lodge (first time). I loved it too. Here's a link to the new Sci Fi menu info. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/09/22/new-menu-sci-fi-dine-in-theater/ Looking forward to the rest of your report! :goodvibes

I'm sure most of you have read about this by now, but just in-case someone missed it:

Beginning October 26, 2011, a number of Walt Disney World Resort restaurants will adopt changes to their cancellation policy. As of that date, these restaurants will require a credit card number to guarantee reservations and will charge $10 per person if cancellations aren't made at least one day in advance.

Certain locations that require a pre-paid reservation will continue with this policy, and will retain the full, pre-paid amount if reservations are not cancelled one day in advance. Special dining events and packages such as Fantasmic! packages, New Year's Eve dinners, and Victoria and Albert's reservations may have different cancellation requirements.

Dining locations participating in the credit card guarantee policy will be as follows:

Pre-Paid Locations:

• Cinderella's Royal Table
• Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
• Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
• Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Credit Card Guarantee Locations:

• 1900 Park Fare
• Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
• Artist Point
• California Grill
• Cape May Cafe
• Chef Mickey's
• Cítricos
• The Crystal Palace
• Flying Fish Cafe
• Garden Grill
• Hollywood and Vine
• Jiko – The Cooking Place
• Le Cellier Steakhouse
• Narcoossee's
• 'Ohana
• Tusker House Restaurant
• Hollywood Brown Derby
• Victoria and Albert's (cancellation policy is $25/per person)
• Yachtsman Steakhouse

There is now a special phone line that only handles dining cancellations: 407-WDW-CNCL. Book or cancel dining reservations at, or direct any questions to any table-service restaurant podium, Walt Disney World Resort Hotel front desk, concierge or Guest Relations, or call 407-WDW-DINE. Guests may also make and cancel reservations online: DisneyWorld.com/Dining.

Don't forget to cancel those ADR's if you aren't going to keep them or you are going to be charged!!!!!:scared1:

Love the rest of your day!! It was a good day- minus Sci Fi, which is sad for you guys.

I can't believe how big the boys have gotten over the years. I mean, I can, but DS12 looks like a preteen now instead of a little guy.:guilty:
Does that mean we are old??????:rotfl2:

The pic of y'all in front of the hat is adorable. You didn't look hot.
I mean, well----------- you know what I'm trying to say. :upsidedow You looked good, and not at all sweaty.

:rolleyes1

Oh boy. My caffeine has kicked in I see.
:dance3:

I never went into CBR's arcade. It's really big and nice! Glad the boys were able to go again.

Great update!!!:cool1:

Great way to end the day...RoRC and ToT are two of my family's favorites! It looks like it was an awesome evening.
Thanks for the info about the new credit card guarantee for some ADRs. We eat at a lot of those restaurants, so that's great to know!:goodvibes

Well I'm glad you decided to come out of lurkdom! :goodvibes And that you had such a nice time at CBR! We love it too.

Thanks for the link to the new menu. Looks like they did away with the steak salad though. :sad2: That stinks!

Wow somebody is a little jacked up on caffeine this morning......:rolleyes1:laughing:

I wish I had your energy. I have to go into substitute for the second half of the day and I'd rather go back to bed!! :upsidedow

Thanks for saying I don't look hot in the picture!! :scared1::lmao: I wasn't too impressed with either picture. I don't think any of us look all that happy. Must have been the heat.

The kids had a blast at the arcade! :cool1:

It was a fun evening! :goodvibes

I thought that ADR thing was interesting. I'm glad they have a new # dedicated to cancelling. I've been guilty of not cancelling a few in my day, but only because when you call the regular # it takes so long to get through just to cancel and I don't like to waste my vacation time on the phone!! I think this will really cut down on people making double and triple reservations on the same night!

Great update! Glad you were able to ride your favorites RNRC and TOT without too long of a wait for them. I booked a F! Pkg but I figure if we don't feel like watching F! we can just skip it, we will have to eat that day anyway and I booked HBD since DH wants to eat there again anyway. A part of me wants to see it since we never have yet.

My DS's loved going to the arcades too, they especially loved playing the air hockey. Going back to CBR worked out well I think since that way the boys were able to get something to eat too.

Speaking about the new CC hold policy for ADR's I do think it is something that has been needed for a long time and hopefully some of the more popular places will be easier to get now.
I sat DH down the other day to have him look over menus so I could finalize our plans before you had to leave CC holds, specifically for Le Cellier since I had a lunch and a dinner booked.
The plan backfired on me he choose Le Cellier for lunch and in place of the Le Cellier dinner he chose Cali Grill so I ended up having to put a CC hold on that ADR anyway, now I have 3 CC holds, CG, F!Pkg and Akershus, the only one I am worried about is CG it is on our arrival night hopefully it will not be bad weather and our flight delayed or cancelled.

Bummer Sci Fi wasn't as fantastic as it usually is. I agree with Jo that a great CM can make or break your experience. I want to stop in just for milkshakes! Is it frowned upon to not get a meal? Can you just relax in the car with a couple shakes? I think they would make an awesome afternoon snack and a great place to rest your feet!

I can understand why they are implementing the new cc policy. It's so hard to get ressies sometimes. It's a shame they have to go that route though but I guess they have to crack down on people taking advantage of double booking and hogging all the slots or making ressies with the chance they might actually use them.

Shelly do you think that applies to bookings that were made prior to Oct 26th or does it begin with new bookings as of Oct. 26th? I'm just wondering if this applies to the ressies I already have for my trip?

Now I know why you like HS so much... you are a thrill ride junkie! I won't ride RNRC or TOT. I would consider riding RNRC if I was certain that it did not have a drop.

A relaxed evening at CBR sounds really good to me! :)

Love RnR!! My DH and DS do the same thing with their fingers when it takes off!!
DS10 loves ToT but my DS14 is not a thrill rider. He is afraid of heights and has been on RnR twice but won't go anymore :(
I hadn't been on ToT since 1995!! So in August I said I'll give it another try (even though I said I would never do it again). I can tell I'm getting old b/c I just don't remember how terrifying that ride was:scared1:!!!
I will def. NOT be doing it again. I don't care how much DS begs me.

Great pics inside of RNRC and ToT! :thumbsup2 You and your DS12 look really good in the RNRC pic! Not at all like some of the faces I see (mine included ;)) in those ride-cam shots. Looks like you rode with JWoww or whatever her name is from Jersey Shore! (sorry for noticing that..... :guilty:)

It's not that you looked hot or didn't look hot in the DHS pics. I think y'all just looked a little drained. I'm surprised y'all even felt like posing for a pic and smiling when you're hot and tired. And once again, y'all were smart to realize it and head back to the resort. We always stuck it out and were totally whipped by the night.

I think those new rules for cancellations are probably a good thing and must have been needed. I can imagine it was a problem with people making ressies and not showing up. I bet that won't happen nearly as much now!

The heat can seriously put a damper on anyone's energy level! It sounds like you had a nice relaxing night - my family loves those! That Disney Pizza looks YUMMY

Thanks Sheila! :goodvibes It was a fun night. Part of me wishes we would have stayed for Fantasmic, but I do remember how drained we were and it probably would have ended up ugly. :rotfl:

Yeah, I don't think I will be making ADR's for arrival day anymore with the new policy! :scared1:

I don't know if they would care if you just went to Sci-Fi for milkshakes. :confused3 Maybe if you just popped in and there were free tables. Who knows....We may find out someday!

Yes, hopefully it will be easier to get certain ADR's now. :wizard:

I think it is for ADR's that are made on Oct 26 ot after. You should be okay.

Thrill ride junkie!! :rotfl2: Well I used to be. Not so much anymore. I'll still do them, but not several times in a row now. :sad2:

I hope you get to enjoy a nice relaxing evening at CBR very soon! :goodvibes

DS always makes me do the "rock on" sign for the RNRC pic! :lmao: He says it's tradition!! I guess we've been doing it since his very first RNRC ride!

My DS10 rode RNRC once and HATED it!!

I'll do TOT once, but after that DS is on his own! :rotfl:

Great pics inside of RNRC and ToT! :thumbsup2 You and your DS12 look really good in the RNRC pic! Not at all like some of the faces I see (mine included ;)) in those ride-cam shots. Yes, drained is a goood word to describe how we look in the pics! :faint:

It was a good night despite the heat!

DS12 loves Disney pizza. He gets it at least 5X each trip! :upsidedow

Love RNR and TOT!

A night relaxing at the resort is always nice though realistically we are not very good at it.

I don't think it applies i just made a ressie today and wasn't asked for cc #. I think it's for ressies made after 10/26.

I know I said this yesterday- I booked a ressie at Garden Grill and they didn't ask for cc#
This morning I booked Cali Grill and they did ask for cc#.
I feel this is just another way for them to make $$$$$ I think it's sad.
