A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

great update.
We love EE ( we being me, DH< and DS10)
That 's great he got to ride so many times!! so fun.
Ds10 and DH usually go on Dinosaur and me and DS14 sit out that one. but this time I may try it again.
can't wait to hear about surprise.

:scared1:
I forgot that was the morning I had been scrubbing the garage floor from the leaking milk and Mark was traveling. GROSS! I remember now- you definitely got an earful that morning.:laughing: Sorry.:rotfl2:

Ugly Bird. He's funny. He makes me laugh. And I always want to feed the birds- I mean they're hungry too. It just skeeves me out when they want your chicken or turkey leg.

Yay AK! :lovestruc I think AK gets a bad wrap, no one ever likes it there, but Bob and I usually spend the most time there.

I love it. :lovestruc

I could spend all day soaking up all the details, like the music and all of the architecture. I wonder how it will be with the new Avatar section and if people will like it better then. :confused3

Everest and Dinosaur, sounds like a pretty great morning so far! :cloud9:

Anxiously awaiting the surprise popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

What a fun morning for you and DS! It's great to have a roller coaster buddy. DD is my future adrenaline junkie! I'm so happy she is above the 40" mark for this next trip so I have someone to get on all the rides DS and DH won't ride. Dinosaur is still one of those I'm not so sure of for my kids.

What a fun morning with your oldest ds! I really like having one on one time at the parks with my boys. How geat that he was able to ride several times with no wait! I love Dinosaur too, I think I'm the only one who loves it everyone else can take it or leave it.

How cool that your dh and ds10 were able to get so close to Sandhill Cranes! We have them here, but there is no way you could get that close to them. They are the noisiest things when they are flying, they must think if they aren't as loud as they possibly can be one will get lost.:confused3

It looks like the whole family had a great start to the day!

It was nice to have some one on one time with DS12. We had a lot of fun! :cool1:

I used to be the only one in the family that liked Dinosaur, but DS12 loves it now too!

I think those cranes would have freaked me out!! :scared1::rotfl:

I love EE, but only once per trip! The last time I rode it twice in a row I was nascious! :faint:

You should defintiely try Dinosaur again! :thumbsup2

Oh yes, the milk story!! I remember now.:rotfl2:

Well I think the only thing ugly bird was after that morning was leftover bagel! :rotfl:

I think AK either falls first or last for most people. They either love it or don't care much for it at all. Unfortunately I fall into that second category. :confused3

Just not much for me I guess. Although DS and I really enjoyed our morning taking our time and exploring and what we happened upon next!

It is great to have a riding buddy!! :cool1: I remember our first trip, DS wasn't quite 48" and he cried and cried because he couldn't ride RNRC with me!!

My kids have rode Dinosaur since our first trip (they were 4 and 6). They didn't really care for it too much at first, but it never really scared them too much either.

What a fun morning for you and your DS! I can't believe he could ride EE that many times in a row! OK, now I have a dumb question. (My DH would give me a look that says "Aren't they all?") When you're walking through the park, like you were on the way to EE, and taking pics along the way, are you doing a lot of stopping to get the pics? Does your family ever tell you to stop with the pics and hurry!! If not, that's very patient and Dis-like of them! ;) I think my kids would have grabbed my camera and told me to take pics later on my own time! Not that they were little monsters, of course! And BTW, I'm glad that you do take lots of pics for us to see! :thumbsup2

It's so nice that you and your boys can have days or times to split up for a while. That way no one has to do something they don't feel like and everyone's happy! Another smart move by a Disney pro! :)

Good to see Jodi this morning in full Jo-ness! Poor ugly birds. :sad2: Dat girl make me

Thanks! :cool1: I know, DS is a brave one!!

 I usually only pause for the pics along the way. They are only to help me tell the story when we get back because I don't take the time to take notes!! If I am stopping for more than a few seconds I will tell them to keep walking and I will catch up. Most times though I am ahead of all of them so it doesn't matter! :rotfl:

I was hesitant on splitting up the family for the entire morning, but it ended up working well. And one evening later in the week DS10 and I got to go to a park alone too while DH & DS12 had some fun time at the Poly! :goodvibes

Cute birds, but I would have been scared to be so close to them!

I know!! :scared1:

Great update Shelly! Your DS is a rockstar, riding EE that many times! He reminds me so much of my oldest daughter. They can just go and go! :thumbsup2

Dinosaur is my favorite ride at AK too. I laugh throughout the whole ride. It's so much fun! You and your son don't look the least bit scared. :rotfl:

It looks like your husband and younger son had a nice, relaxing morning at CBR.

Thanks Kelli! :) Yes, he can just go and go and go. I remember the days when I could too. :rotfl:

Wow another person who loves Dinosaur!! Maybe we should start a club or something! :lmao: That ride is awesome!! :thumbsup2
Great trip report! Love all the pics :thumbsup2

-Chris

Thank you! :goodvibes

What a nice morning for all of you!
I think I need a little more info on Dinosaur - what is it really like? We've never tried it. I suppose there's a video out there somewhere.

It was a nice morning! :goodvibes

You've never been on Dinosaur?! :scared1: You've got to ride it! :thumbsup2 You ride in a jeep type vehicle, it's kind of rough, dark, and loud - but nothing like a roller coaster.

Here's a video:

So fun!! :cool1:

Yikes! Dinosaur MAY be off the list of "to-do's" for myself and my 9 yo DD. Looks a bit too scary for her AND me! LOL! The ride itself doesn't look bad, but the volume, sound-effects and lack of lighting combined with the animatronic dino's - yeah - can't say that would end well for us!

(This is coming from a girl mmhhhmmm (me) who once ran UNDER and OUT of a circus tent to get away from the "gorilla-man" at the sideshow at our local fair) lol

Yeah, it's definitely not for everyone! Especially if you don't like loud sounds and the dark!! :scared1:

After doing EE and Dinosaur DS12 and I really didn't care to do anything else at AK. We had just gone for those 2 rides! But I was on a mission. On previous trips I had started a little snowglobe collection. I have a big one of the castle that plays a tune and says Walt Disney World on it. Then I have 3 smaller ones, each one representing a park – MK, Epcot, and DHS. My mission was to find a little AK snowglobe to round out the collection. So we searched and searched. The CM's would tell us they didn't have any and tell us to try another store, so we would head on to the next and so on and so on. Eventually another CM told us that WDW has really cut back on the snowglobes because of it being so hard for people to get them home via airplanes. So I was pretty much out of luck. While we did see some snowglobes, there weren't any that were AK specific. Bummer.

We took a few pics on our journey...

Somehow we ended up on the other side of the park and look who we spotted!!! Divine! :yay:

I had heard of her before, but never actually thought I'd ever see her. It was a very neat surprise!! DS was mesmerized! :lovestruc

Up Next: CBR and lunch

That's a shame about the snow globes :( Even if they are hard to bring home on the plane, they're pretty to look at in the stores!! How sad. Maybe they would sell an animal kingdom snow globe online somewhere?
And ahhh Devine! I haven't seen her in so long! She is seriously awesome. I wish I could meet the girl who plays her. I bet she has an interesting life story. I always wonder how people get the jobs they have at Disney.

Love the great pics you got of Divine! We saw her on our last trip. I guess y'all had missed her since you are in and out of AK so fast!

I love your leopard top for AK! See, you had to go to AK if only to wear that cute top!

That's too bad about the snowglobe. If you really want a complete park set, you could try EBay for one.

I know! I never had trouble getting mine home. I just wrapped them up in lots of clothes and put them in the checked luggage!

I will have to look online I guess.

It was such a nice surprise to see Divine! :goodvibes Very cool!

Thanks! Yeah, I guess we have never stayed at AK long enough to find her. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time this time!

All the CM's were commenting on my shirt all morning!

I'll have to check Ebay for a snowglobe!!
