A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

great update!!
Wow, the CBR pool is so big- wish the Poly's was that size. It really needs to be b/c as you know it's just always crowded due to it being too SMALL!
We always take 1 or 2 days off from the parks to spend time in the pool, rent boats, and do things around resort. It's nice to sleep in and relax sometimes.

Shelly we are doing dinner at 'Ohana, my husband and son love their meat! I love the breakfast too, but this year's breakfast will be at Boma which we have never done (for breakfast).

Shelly - What a wonderfully relaxing morning you had. The pool at CBR looks really great. I do think it looks like one of the nicer pools, it's so large. Can't wait to read about your evening at DHS.

Thanks! :goodvibes

CBR definitely has one of the best pools! :thumbsup2

Wow- the CBR pool looks great! It looks really big too! You all look like you were having a great time swimming.
Can't wait until your DHS update...only 4 weeks and we will be there.:goodvibes

It is so big!! :cool1: We had a great morning.

YAY for 4 weeks!! :woohoo: Lucky!!

Wow! What a great way to do Disney. I love the idea of maybe relaxing in the hotel one day and heading to the park in the evening too. I have toyed with the idea, but have just thought - "wouldn't it be like WASTING a day!?!" But you are clearly showing us that is not the case afterall. CAn't wait to see how your evening at Hollywood Studio's goes. :)

I used to be like that at WDW -- go, go, go!!! :hyper: But I soon found out that we have a better time when we slow things down a bit. And I never really feel like we are wasting time or missing out on anything. So for us it's a great way to do Disney! :thumbsup2 (Plus if I didn't do it this way DH wouldn't keep taking me back. :rotfl:)

HeY girl! Just sent Mark out to get me some IC so I thought I'd check out the thread! Glad I did! What a wonderful update! Once again all the pics of CBR prove that it is so beautiful there. The guy's morning looked like so much fun!

I wasn't sure what the black Thing was in that one picture- is it a coffin with Calico Jack written on it? Did I see a hand coming out if it???

The board at the pool said it was 94 that day! Did it feel hotter to you?

Thanks for the update! It was good! :) looking forward to more!

It was a very fun morning! But yes, very hot!! :faint: You sure couldn't sit out of the pool too long in the baking sun. :scared1: When DS and I were eating our lunch it was very hot. And then when we got to DHS the heat was pretty bad. That was actually the day the heat affected me the most.

That black box thing had something to do with the pirate cruise at CBR. DS recognized it from when they took the cruise a few years ago!pirate:

How sweet of your DS9 to play quietly so mommy can sleep in. :goodvibes

It's great that the pool didn't get crowded. It really is a great fun pool!

That kid could sit and play with Lego's for hours and hours!!

We had a blast at the pool!:cool1:

You are right -- the Poly pool needs to be that big!! I can't believe how small the Poly pool is. And yes, it gets crowded in a hurry. But we loved it anyway!

Sometimes days at the resort are better than being at the parks all day. :goodvibes

Shelly we are doing dinner at 'Ohana, my husband and son love their meat! I love the breakfast too, but this year's breakfast will be at Boma which we have never done (for breakfast).

We did Ohana for dinner on this trip and it was very good. So much food though! :faint:

We've never been to Boma. Our favorite breakfast is Kona! :cloud9:

Wow CBR pool is empty! It think it was more crowded during my January trips than on your trip! Maybe everyone went to the water parks or were waiting until later in the day to swim. :confused3

Thanks Kim! :)

Your DS is going to LOVE the Lego store. I hope he has been saving up!! :cool1::laughing:
He sure has been saving!!!! He even reminds his little sister when she asks for something at the store that we are saving or Disney and if she buys something here she can't buy anything at Disney! :lmao:

Where the HECK have I been?! I read your TR from last year and I LOVED it... and I don't know why I didn't know about this one! I'm gonna have to go back and read! Can't wait :) It sounds like it was a fun trip! :thumbsup2

It really was empty for a HOT summer day!! :cool1: IDK where all the people were, just glad they weren't there!:rotfl:

Good for him!! :goodvibes My DS10 is the same way. He hardly ever buys anything here, he saves it all for Disney! As soon as he gets his allowance (or birthday or report card $$) he puts it right in his Disney envelope!

Your DS will be so happy he saved when he walks into that Lego store! :yay:

Welcome! :goodvibes So glad you're here!! I hope you get all caught up soon.

It was a fabulous trip! :thumbsup2

After we were done at the pool we went back to the room and got showered and changed. We weren't planning on heading out to DHS until closer to our ADR time because of the heat, but we were too excited and headed out a bit earlier! After-all it is my (and DS12's) favorite park!!:yay:

It was around 2:30 when we got to DHS.

We went to the wait time tip board and it appeared that it might be a slightly busy day with a huge wait for TSM and no fastpasses left. RNRC was a 50 minute wait and Star Tours was 20 minutes. We ran and got fastpasses for RNRC.

It was so stinking HOT that day!! Standing here in this line is the most miserable I remember being from the heat on the entire trip. :faint: So I may be smiling, but I felt totally disgusting!!

After we browsed in there a bit we headed over to the Great Movie Ride. I think we waited about 20 minutes to ride it. The line was crowded and it smelled like sweaty people in there. :scared1: The ride was fun as always though!

Up Next: Sci-Fi Dine In

Loved your DHS update! That stinks that it was crowded. I love DHS...my favorite ride is ToT.
Looking forward to your Sci-Fi update, my family loves it there!
I hope that you had a great weekend!:goodvibes

I have to do the Writers Stop..what book where you reading?! Looks like you were both liking it! And I looove the Great Movie Ride..especially the Wizard of Oz & Mary Poppins parts!!!! I can't waaaaait!!!

Great DHS post!

I'm glad you were able to pop into the Writer's Stop for a bit. I bet you enjoyed the AC in there that day!:goodvibes

Star Tours looks like such a great ride. We were unable to get to it- ran out of time that day and Drew couldn't ride b/c he gets motion sickness. So we skipped it, along with a ton of other things we wanted to get to. There's never enough time is there??? :(

Love GMR--- it's always nice, minus stinky sweaty people. Ewwwww. You got some cool pics of it this trip!

Looking forward to more of your DHS day---- I found out this trip I really enjoyed it when Mr Grumpy Man wasn't in that park with me!:lmao:

Looks a great day for glistening at DHS! :goodvibes

When DH and I were there for our honeymoon in the summer of 2001 our biggest complaint was not the heat but rather the scent of sweaty gym socks and BO that wafted through the breeze. We teased that Disney should place complimentary samples of deodorant in the restrooms for people during the hotter months of the year.

Thanks! :)

It never fails when you arrive at DHS in the middle of the day it is crowded. :confused3 It's okay though, we went back a few days later at rope drop and got to do everything we wanted!!

We had a ncie weekend. Cold & rainy though. I hope you had a nice one!:goodvibes

I'm not sure the name of that book. We looked at several. They all had to do with WDW and the making of it and so on!

We love the GMR! :thumbsup2

Yes, the AC felt nice in the Writer's Shop. I was really feeling the heat that day. :faint:

Sorry you didn't get to do Star Tours. It is pretty neat. It's not one of my favs by any means, but still fun! :rotfl: The kids loved that it is something different every time now.

Mr Grumpy Man :rotfl2: Did he make it to DHS at all on your trip?

Looks a great day for glistening at DHS! :goodvibes

It sure was a good day for 'glistening'! :thumbsup2:laughing:

That was definitely the worst day for smelly people. :scared: Free deodorant samples would have been a good idea. :rotfl:

Ick Shelly. I'm sorry you were sweltering. How hot was it that day, do you remember? I love the Writer's Stop! :thumbsup2

What a nice, relaxing morning at CBR. We're not good relaxing people while on vacation, I planned a whole day to just hang out in the pool and do nothing. By 10 am everyone was bored so we headed to The Gulf of Mexico for the afternoon. Someday I'm going to get them to relax!

DHS and AK always seem so hot to me. It didn't look super crowded and it sounds like you got quite a bit done for arriving in the late afternoon. We normally love Scifi but this trip we had a waiter that wasn't the best. It was still fun of course and the food was good!

Wow, it did look pretty crowded at DHS that day! With that many people in a park on a hot day like that, it's a sure thing that the air will be a little  In addition to free deordorant samples, they should give out free clothespins for the rest of us who have to breathe the air!

I'm shocked there was an attraction at DHS you hadn't seen before! The Writer's Stop looks really neat. And I love the cute look on your DS10's face where you're sitting together with the book.

You got some really good pics inside the Great Movie ride. So clear and colorful! :thumbsup2

Very nice update. You touched upon things on my list. Also great pics of the new star tours and the Writers Stop. I am surprised you guys were not "glistening" more going out during the hottest time of the day in Florida in August no less...........brave folk ye is :rotfl:

Another fun update Shelly!

GMR shall be now known as Gross Movie Reekness. ;)

Sea:cool1:

:rotfl2:

Ick Shelly. I'm sorry you were sweltering. How hot was it that day, do you remember? I love the Writer's Stop! :thumbsup2

I think it was in the mid 90's that day. :scared1:

We never relax as long as planned, but we do get some relaxing time in there. :thumbsup2

AK and DTD always seem the hottest to me. But it was DHS this time, but far!!

We love Sci-Fi too and had a good time this time, but not as great as previous times. :confused3 But more on that later.....
