A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

Beautiful pics Shelley! You did a really good job! My fas, you and Ds smelling the flower, the boys looking at the waterfall w their back to the camera, the boys together and separate in the hammock and you and your DH on the bench!

WOW!! Shelly those pics are awesome. If you didn't tell us they weren't professional I'd never know. What a great idea!! I looked into the photo shoot as well- RIDICULOUS!!!!
Did you have a tripod for your camera?

Shelly you were able to get some very nice pictures without the cost of the Package.

Those are wonderful Shelly! You did a great job! :thumbsup2 So I am very curious as to how you got pics of all four of you??? Did you set your timer? You really did great and they looked like they cooperated pretty good. I know what you mean though about the whining. Towards the end of my trip, my DD got like that too. Good for you for telling them to deal with it! :rotfl: And you guys look so cute in your matching blues!

We did the photo shoot at the Grand Floridian on our first trip in '08. Can you believe it was only $25 back then! :scared1: I've heard it has gone sky high. I'm glad we got it done before the price change, but I'd like to get some newer ones now. I might just do it myself like you did on our next trip.

Those came out great !! Your family is very photogenic. I'm lucky to appear in any pics at all .. I'm look horrible in photo's. I really like your dress .. very cute !
The Poly is such a pretty resort .. I love looking at all the pics ! :thumbsup2

The pics are lovely! Did you use a timer for the family pics, or just someone passing by?

Thank you! :goodvibes Those are some of my favs too! The one of the boys with their backs to the camera is my screen saver right now.

Those are some great pics, Shelly!

Thank you! :)

Thanks so much! :goodvibes Yeah, the price was very shocking and considering it was for only 20 minutes makes it even worse. Nope, I don't have a tripod, I just set the camera on the nearest steady surface!

Thanks Sheila! :goodvibes

Thank you! :) Yep, I just line up the rest of the family and then I set the timer and I have about 10 seconds to get myself into place! Yeah, the boys cooperated pretty well. Very well considering we were at it for like an hour and it was very warm out!

$25??? Are you serious? :faint: I would have done that in a second! It's in the hundreds now. :sad2:

Thank you! :) Yes, it is easy to get good pics at the Poly, beautiful scenery all around. :cloud9:

Thanks Mel! :goodvibes All but one of the family shots were taken with the timer. One pic in the lobby I was lining up the camera and setting it on a ledge and a nice man came over and asked if I would like him to take the picture. :)

After our big photoshoot we had worked up quite an appetite! So we headed into the lounge to see what they had this evening. The kids were thrilled to see that they had mini corndogs, but they ended up saying there were horrible. :confused3 They apparently didn't come from Casey's...:rotfl:

When we were done in there we went back to the room. The kids were watching TV and playing video games and I stepped out onto the balcony. Looking to my left I could see the sidewalk that goes from the back side of the Hawaii building (the far side by Tokelua) out to the beach. There was a young woman there that appeared to be getting married. There was an older woman with her (appeared to be her mother) and they were standing there arm in arm like they were getting ready to walk down the isle! So I waited a bit and sure enough they started to walk towards the beach. So I grabbed my camera and went outside and took a few shots!

There were several people kind of standing back and quietly watching. It was pretty neat! :goodvibes

DH came out to join me and we watched a little bit and then went on a short walk down the beach. It was very nice and peaceful, but we were dreading the fact that we had to go home the next day.

Eventually we made our way back inside and asked the kids what they wanted to do that night. DS12 said he just wanted to hang out at the Poly. And DS10 asked if there were any 'nighttime shows or parades' going on. I told him that we could only go to MK since we didn't have park hoppers and that the MSEP was showing that night. And he was all for it!! :yay: I was secretly wanting to see this but didn't figure anyone else would want to go. DH didn't care if he saw it or not, so he offered to stay back with DS12.

So pretty soon DS10 and I went out and got on the monorail and were off to MK!:woohoo:

I always wanted to get married there!
I love the MSEP. Unfortunately I can only get everybody else to watch it w/ me once each trip:sad1:. I could stay and watch it every night :)
Leaving tomorrow so :sad2:!! But :yay: for a PTR coming up???

I know, wouldn't that be wonderful?! :cloud9:

My family is not too big on parades either, but sometimes DS10 will surprise me! :goodvibes

Yep, I should finish this TR up this week or next. I'll probably take a little time off from the writing and do a PTR a little closer to the trip.

My goodness! All of the pictures you took were beautiful! Even the ones where the lighting wasn't the best---- you all look great and are very photogenic!!:goodvibes

That is a great idea to take your own pics- the professional ones couldn't have turned out any better, honestly. And good grief--- the scenery!:cloud9:

The Bride----- So sweet. We have seen weddings taking place at that location. It is always so lovely there.

The CL food that night looked really good! Lots of stuff to choose from.

I am so happy that you and DS10 went to see the MSEP --- it was a fun time I'm sure having time alone with just you two. And how easy and wonderful is getting on that monorail and getting to the MK in a flash???:lovestruc

Can't wait to see pics of the parade!:woohoo:

Well hey, the DIS is actually running at a decent speed at the moment!! :yay: It has been so slow lately I don't think too many people are around anymore. :sad2:

Anyway -- Thank you. I was very happy with the pictures. :goodvibes The Poly is easy to photograph, so we just stuck ourselves in there. :rotfl:

I have seen so many brides and/or weddings on my last few trips. :lovestruc

It was really nice to have that one on one time with DS10. It's usually me & DS12, so it was nice for him to have a chance. And it gave DS12 & DH an evening together. Although I'm not really sure what they did all night....:confused3 Probably ate a bunch of cookies from the lounge and watched TV!

GREAT pics Shelly..... Love them all. I'm surprised that the boys stayed long enough to take the pics for you. And yes the last night there is such a drag. Knowing the next day you will be back home. :(

Can't wait to see more pics...... And follow your PTR when u get up and running again. Ur my peek into WDW.... :) I'm still thinking about if i should go this year or wait until 2013 when more stuff is opened up.... we'll see.....

What a wonderful place to get married! :cloud9:

I'm so glad that your DS10 wanted to go see the parade with you. I am a go, go, go kind of person, but I think my family is more like your DH and would rather just relax and enjoy the resort. I think we need to find more of a happy medium on our trips, b/c we usually do a lot more going than relaxing. :rolleyes1 Maybe we should just stay at the Poly and that would encourage me to slow down. ;) I can definitely see why you guys would want to spend a lot of time just hanging out there.

Don't you hate that last full day of vacation feeling when you start thinking about having to pack and go home? :sad1:

Thanks Mari! :goodvibes The boys did pretty well!

If you go this year will it be in May? I don't know what to tell you, there will be a lot of stuff still closed this year. We are having a hard time knowing that TT, BTMRR, and most of Fantasyland will be closed.

I was glad he wanted to go to the parade too!

The Poly sure makes you slow down your vacation. ::yes:: I recommend giving it a try. :thumbsup2:goodvibes

I am already dreading the last day of our next vacation. It makes my stomach hurt. :sad2:

Those are wonderful pictures Shelly! They came out very nice!

I liked how you put it the guys - let them know who is in charge. :lmao:

Momma gets what momma wants! :rotfl:

Sea :cool1:

Your Poly photo shoot pictures came out wonderful!:goodvibes You got some great shots.
What a nice night it looks like you all had! My DD20 is already talking about her wedding- she definitely wants it to be at WDW. Can't say I wouldn't like that!:rotfl:
