A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

Shelly, love the DTD pictures, we love DTD and I hardly ever see anyone put many pictures or comments about it in TR's! Seeing your boys in the Lego Store makes a bit sad, my ds will be 17 on Friday and our Lego days are behind us! Wish they would have had that at WDW's DTD back in his Lego days.

Can't wait to hear your stuff on the Poly, I gotta confess, I enjoyed CBR more! I'll be anxious to hear your perspective.

Thanks Amy! :goodvibes We do love spending time at DTD. In-fact before the week was over DS10 had dragged us back 2 more times!! :upsidedow

It might be a little while before I get to all our Poly stuff on here, I still have 3 more CBR days! But if you want to you can take a look at my Poly review!

Wow you have done so much already in just two days! Your DTD time looks wonderful. I'm so glad it cooled off for you! We may not have time to make it there on this trip. :sad2:

Love the fountain picture of your boys! That captured the pure joy of being at Disney! :)

I can't wait to see Illuminations from CBR!!!!!! :woohoo: So exciting!

My DH always buys a hat too. I guess that is the standard man souvie. ;)

We have never been to the West Side of DTD. I need to get over there and check it out. And we have never used our PH vouchers either. What else do they have down there that you like to go to?

I know -- the trip was off to a wonderful start!! :cool1:

I hope you get to DTD for a little bit on your trip! :wizard: And that you get to see IllumiNations from CBR!

I don't know what it is with DH and the hats. He'e never owned a motorcycle, but he had to get a hat from the Harley Store.....:confused3:rotfl:

There's some cool stuff on the West Side! There's a candy store, a Vinylmation store, a sunglass store, some clothing stores, restaurants, and then things like Disney Quest and Cirque du Soleil - I want to go to both of those one day!
I'm late. Forgive me please???:flower3:

I have a good reason I swear!;)

Okay let's see your DTD post----
shopping is FUN.:cool1: I love the picture of the boys jumping. I think next trip you should get pics of them planking all over WDW! That would be great. ::yes::

DS12 looks like a ninja with the unicorn suckers in that one picture!:lmao:

You guys sent me a text that night when you were at CBR. And I was very jel.

Great update! Can't wait to read more!:goodvibes

Okay, you're forgiven this time. But don't let it happen again!!

That was a great night at DTD! I remember texting you guys!! :yay:

Yes - DS12 was being crazy with those giant lollipops! :crazy2:

Anybody else notice how Jo cleverly avoids any mention we do of her starting a TR? :rolleyes1

Yes I did notice that :rotfl:

Yeah, I noticed too!!!

I did! I thought maybe when she said she had a good reason that writing her TR would be it.

IF I COULD STICK OUT MY TONGUE AT ALL OF YOU I WOULD.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I had wonderful intentions of posting on Monday, honest I did. I even told Shelly last week I was going to start it Monday morning. My Mom was in town last week and it was a bit stressful so I had to put it off.
I'm sorry for the delay, but my days right now are crazy.

I am hoping in the next few weeks things will settle down for me and I will be able to devote the time I need to getting it up and running. I don't want to start it and get five updates into it and stop. I do appreciate you guys wanting to read all about the trip. 'Cause you all know I have stories to tell........
:rotfl:
Y'all have patience with me.:flower3:

Besides----- you'll need something to read once Shelly's TR is finished, won't you????:rolleyes1

You know we just love to "pick" on you Jo :rotfl:

You have a valid point about having something to read once Shelly's TR is done of course by then she might be doing her next PTR and we might (not a chance) forget you promised us a TR,

Sorry to hear your visit with Mom was so stressful, we just miss you and your humor

Ok Jo, we'll be patient... for a little while longer. ;)

We just can't wait to read all your stories. :goodvibes

Jodi, Jodi, Jodi...:sad2: You prove, yet again, that you TRULY are my long lost sister!!!! I too have to toss Disney aside when my mom comes to town.....it's sad and pathetic, but there it is..She thinks the only reason I go to Disney every year is that I have tooo many things from my childhood that have went undealt with and that's my escape from life. uhh, so what's wrong with that? not really---I truly have dealt with all the childhood issues,...I just think Disney is the PERFECT place to take the family...geez,i think we all feel that we are 'safer' there than any other vacation spot! That should put her on my bandwagon, as she is in fear of someone taking my kids at any given point....
Ok Shelly...back to you!!!:cutie:

And you do know we would probably stick our tongues out right back at ya! :lmao:

You do have a valid point, though, about needing something to read once Shelly's done, so I'll give you that one.

I do so understand the stress of having a mother in town...although mine has now moved from a 5-1/2 hour plane ride away to a 10-minute car ride. :scared1:

Thanks Amy! :goodvibes We do love spending time at DTD. In-fact before the week was over DS10 had dragged us back 2 more times!! :upsidedow

Shelly, I have no idea how I missed that Poly review when you wrote it or in your link! Great review.

I did really enjoy it too, but we paid rack rate due to it being a holiday weekend and a last minute thing. I was just not wowed which shocked me! But I think it was partly because Dan booked that for me in honor of my mom who had just passed away. We had eaten there twice when we went to WDW with her and she commented how lovely it was. So the whole time I was there I was just thinking about her and feeling sad!

Or maybe I am just a moderate girl at heart!:rotfl:

In any case, I loved your review and pictures and am so glad you guys enjoyed it. If two boys comment on the room being nice, that means it must have been perfect!;)

Day 3 – Sunday August 28

DH and DS12 decided they were going to get up early and get breakfast from the food court. DS10 played with his Lego's and I slept in! :cloud9:

I'm not sure what time DH & DS went over to the food court, but it wasn't super early. Maybe 8:30ish. They ate and then took a walk.

Rating: Sorry, cant really rate it since I wasn't there, but DH & DS didn't have any complaints!!
Total Bill: I'm guessing around about $22 or so...

They walked from the food court through Trinidad North, then to Trinidad South, and then back to Jamaica.

When they got back we all got into our swimsuits and headed over to the main pool! We got there just after 10:00am and they had just done their morning opening ceremony. The pool is open 24 hours but the lifeguards come on duty and the slides open at 10:00.

Continued.....

We found a nice spot right by the pool and DS went over to get us some towels.

The kids didn't waste any time and got right in! DH and I decided to soak in the sun for awhile before we went in. So we lounged on our chairs and sent some texts & pics to friends and watched the kids. And took lots of pics of course!

Pretty soon DH and I joined the kids! DS10 loved the smaller slide and DS12 and I loved the longer one!

A little after 11:30 DS10 and I were getting hungry since we hadn't had anything to eat yet. So I went into the food court and grabbed us a little lunch. I got a salad for me and some apples for him and some breadsticks for both of us.

After we ate I walked over behind the big pool slide and took a few pics and then we did a little more swimming and then headed back to the room to get ready to go to DHS later.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Poly review Amy. :goodvibes We just loved it there. :cloud9: Of course we didn't pay rack rate!! We were wowed by everything except the CL offerings.

I really need to stay a moderate girl too, for the sake of my savings account!!:scared1::rotfl:

I'm so sorry about your mom. Maybe if you get back to the Poly someday it will be a happier time with only good memories.

What a fun, relaxing day! You really know how to do Disney right. Who knew you could sleep in on a Disney trip!

So you not only trained your boys how to be good shoppers, you also trained them to be great photographers. :thumbsup2 I love how your DS12 and DH took all kinds of pics during their morning out. They even got a pic of their breakfast and a flower, too!

The CBR pool looks awesome and huge! You're right, it was not crowded at all for a hot summer day. Whodathunkit!

Way to go posting a swimsuit pic so coyly! ;)

good update!! Love that pool!!!

Thanks!

It sure is a fun pool! :cool1:

I was so ready for a sleep in day. I couldn't believe they wanted to get up and go for breakfast. :upsidedow

DS took most of the pics during their little excursion!! He definitely took the food pic, DH wouldn't do that!!

Yep - there's my swimsuit pics!!
I couldn't believe the pool never got the least bit crowded that day! I was prepared for it to be over-run with kids!! ;):rotfl:

Ahh, that is my kind of day at WDW, sleep in, time at the resort pool then head to a park.:cloud9:

My mom will soon be gone four years, the trip we took to the Poly was just three months after she died and I think the memories of the lovely day we spent there were a bit too bittersweet!

We are eating at 'Ohana next trip for the first time since our stay and I can't wait!

Yeah, the deluxe's aren't as savings account friendly!

I'm sure that trip was very bittersweet. Maybe now that some more time has passed it will be a happy place for you. :goodvibes

Yep, those relaxing days at Disney are the best!! :cool1:

Are you eating at Ohana for breakfast or dinner? We love both! :)

Shelly - What a wonderfully relaxing morning you had. The pool at CBR looks really great. I do think it looks like one of the nicer pools, it's so large. Can't wait to read about your evening at DHS.

Wow- the CBR pool looks great! It looks really big too! You all look like you were having a great time swimming.
Can't wait until your DHS update...only 4 weeks and we will be there.:goodvibes

Wow! What a great way to do Disney. I love the idea of maybe relaxing in the hotel one day and heading to the park in the evening too. I have toyed with the idea, but have just thought - "wouldn't it be like WASTING a day!?!" But you are clearly showing us that is not the case afterall. CAn't wait to see how your evening at Hollywood Studio's goes. :)

HeY girl! Just sent Mark out to get me some IC so I thought I'd check out the thread! Glad I did! What a wonderful update! Once again all the pics of CBR prove that it is so beautiful there. The guy's morning looked like so much fun!

I wasn't sure what the black Thing was in that one picture- is it a coffin with Calico Jack written on it? Did I see a hand coming out if it???

The board at the pool said it was 94 that day! Did it feel hotter to you?

Thanks for the update! It was good! :) looking forward to more!

How sweet of your DS9 to play quietly so mommy can sleep in. :goodvibes

It's great that the pool didn't get crowded. It really is a great fun pool!
