A Disney Geek-tastic Trip to the World Updated 3/27!

I love how Franklin even takes pretty pictures of a long line for the monorail! :rotfl: The picture you tweeted of the castle is simply perfection. Yes, even with the stupid crane! Seeing that castle for the first time on a trip to Disney is just as amazing every single time it happens. I never get tired of that!

Be Our Guest looks so awesome! I think if we eat there on our trip (believe it or not, DH needs convincing!), it will likely be for lunch. Good for us, we eat early, so hopefully we can get in without waiting an exceptionally long time. I probably would even get the same sandwich you did! You look SO excited in that picture with the stained glass window. :cutie: I can totally understand that! I haven't gotten to experience any of New FL yet, so I'm really really excited to check it out!

Yeah, I have the same problem. But if you're ever going to like some pictures of yourself, your engagement pictures are a great place to start!

Very, very true! :thumbsup2

We have a dinner ADR at BOG for the end of April! Can't wait, I love French Onion Soup, and yours looked soooo good.

Everything at BOG was so, so good. You are in for a real treat! And the onion soup was delicious! ::yes::

Love your engagement photos! What a cute idea to get mouse ears with your wedding date on them!! You both look so happy in the photos. :). Congratulations!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the peek into BoG. It looks beautiful!!!!

Thank you! :goodvibes Disney definitely didn't cut any corners when it came to the theming in New Fantasyland, and Be Our Guest is no exception. The details are exquisite, make sure you give yourself time to explore.

Hi there! Just found your fabulous TR and I'm joining in :)

I am a HUGE BoardWalk fan. We're staying there for part of our next trip (we leave in 10 days! Not like I'm counting...)

Glad to see such positive review of BOG! It's definitely on our list for the trip. I still can't decided between the options though...everything looks so yummy!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! 10 days?!?!?! I'm so envious, our next trip isn't for another few months. Though we won't be staying at BW in May, we're staying at our other DVC home: Bay Lake Tower.

Got any big plans for your upcoming trip?

Great pics!

You both look so happy and beautiful in the engagement photos!

And that is my first view into BOG. Loved your mini photo tour. It looks like a wonderful spot for lunch.

Thank you!!!! It is an amazing spot for lunch! There are going to be tough decisions on future trips: BOG, CHH or Plaza? I love them all!

Im finally all caught up again:) Love your engagement photos especially the mouseears one! We will need all your wedding details too now:lmao:

Be our guest looks really great and I for one am so glad that there's now somewhere to get a glass of wine with dinner :thumbsup2

Don't worry, there will be plenty of wedding details to share! I found it rather funny the furor that erupted when it was announced that BOG would serve beer and wine at dinner. It would take a lot of very expensive Disney beer and wine to make people as sloppy drunk as the naysayers were predicting.

Great pictures! And your BOG report made me hungry :thumbsup2

How long did you wait in line for lunch in BOG? Is it hard to find a free table after you ordered?

Thank you again and waiting for the next parts :yay:

It was about 40 minutes from the time we got in line until we were sitting at our table. It took maybe another five minutes to get our food. There's plenty of seating at lunch (the restaurant seats more than 500!). There were only a handful of people in the Rose Gallery with us. The Ballroom was far more full, I think people may not realize there are two other dining rooms, since they're set back from the ballroom.

You're so right, there's nothing like the rush of seeing the castle for the first time (and knowing how much fun lay ahead of you on your trip). People have reported that the line begins to form around 10:30 a.m. for lunch at BOG and they usually open the doors just before 11.

I was so excited after lunch! Visiting BOG felt like one of the last pieces of the NFL puzzle for us (we still had Enchanted Tales With Belle to visit on this trip, and of course, the Mine Coaster next year!).

BoG looks so amazing! I didn't know that the dining rooms that were open were specific to meal times, so thank you!

Once again the pictures are outstanding. I swear that a few of them looked like artist's renderings. So gorgeous. You're going to spend a lifetime putting photos in albums and framing things thanks to your very talented fiance. :goodvibes

Really enjoying your trip report :) ! Great photos & narrative ! Congrats on your engagement.

Great meal at BOG! We had dinner there in January - the food was very good. And, not to miss is the photo op with The Beast in his study after dinner.

Enjoyed your review of BOG. I really didn't see too much on the menu that interested me, but I know I will be wanting to go in to check things out.
Beautiful photos once again.
They've made tons of progress on GF Villas since my trip last Oct. Wow!!

I saw your engagement photos on Facebook but I don't remember the Mickey ear one! How adorable is that!!?? I love them all though, they're very nice!
Hooray for being checked in properly!! :thumbsup2
And now for the good stuff.

BOG.

OMG.

I'm literally sitting at work (before we're open) with tears in my eyes because that place is freaking STUNNING. I want to be there RIGHT NOW. pixiedust: Oh my word. I am a little jealous but mostly happy for you that you got to eat there. I'd wait in that line up too!

When they first announced that all three dining rooms at BOG would only be open at lunch, I was a little bummed. But once you realize that the restaurant seats 552 people in those three dining rooms, it makes it a little easier to understand the decision. There's just no way they could give you the quality TS experience that's expected at a restaurant as amazing as this one, if they are dealing with more than 500 people at a time.

Speaking of making photo albums, someone on another trip report floated the idea of making books on Blurb for each TR and so I'm going to look into it. It would be a great way to have a keepsake from each trip. I'll let you know what I find out.

We've got dinner at BOG coming up later in the trip and we got GREAT pictures with the master of the castle!

It's definitely a very different menu from anything else at Disney. But I applaud them for taking the risk of elevating theme park food. Just as an FYI for everyone, they aren't letting people in just to look around. The only way would be to wait in line at lunch and then sneak out of line once you're in the castle. They won't let you past the gate at dinner if you don't have a buzzer that's going off.

Maybe once it's less new, they'll let people wander. But right now, there are just too many people actually eating in there to let folks wander around.

I don't think the Mickey ears picture ever made it onto the FB album, it became a kind-of Disboards exclusive. :thumbsup2

I have never been as blown away by something at WDW as I was by BOG. What they did in that restaurant is on another level. The big picture is gorgeous, but it's the details that are the most amazing. The portraits, the mosaics, it's all so beautiful and I think I could spend all day in there exploring everything!

I know, I can't wait! We leave on Wednesday and I'm planning in finishing up our packing today :)

My sister is doing the Disney College Program, so my husband and I are heading down to visit her. We're trying a few new restaurants (Citricos, BOG, Mama Melroses is new to my hubs), and hitting the parks hard, as we've been a bit relaxed on our recent trips, ha!

I absolutely love your idea of putting different credit cards on your KTTW cards. Brilliant!!!

Wow! Be Our Guest looks amazing!!! The decor, the food! I haven't checked out a menu yet, but I think I am going to go do that now. I love French onion soup, so that is always a good start.

Sounds very well organized with the food delivery. I'm guessing that you don't have help with seating- or you don't need it- to find an empty table? How did the other two rooms look?

Beautiful pictures!

Thanks for the sneak peak of the GFV and the mine coaster. Any idea how intense it will be? Great Goofini gentle? BTM excitement? Space Mtn terror?

I'm here!!! :wave2:

Franklin's pictures of BoG are amazing! I think they are better than the one's Disney has released! I cannot wait to eat there next month...I think that soup will be on my list as well. Yummm!

Looks like you guys are just about to leave for your trip. You are going to have so much fun with new things to try.

It is open seating at BOG for lunch, so no help. There are plenty CMs walking around, making sure everything runs smoothly. The ballroom seemed pretty packed. But the Rose Gallery was empty, by comparison. My photo has maybe 5 families in the Rose Gallery.

More info on the Mine Coaster will be in a later chapter... :thumbsup2
Stay tuned!

Thank you so much! I was agonizing over my lens choice for this. I couldn't make up my mind.

You're probably on your way already, but have a WONDERFUL trip. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! :thumbsup2

The food is so good at BOG, it's really hard to believe you're eating in Magic Kingdom. Everything felt very organized once you ordered. The thing is, I can't figure out how there will ever not be a line to get in at lunch. They seem to have plenty of kiosks for ordering, but even with all of them in use, it still took a while to get there. I can't imagine there ever being such a dramatic drop-off in people wanting to eat there that the line outside goes away.

We have your answer, but you're just going to have to wait until the chapter for our Dining With an Imagineer lunch! ;)

Yay! Glad to see you over here. :goodvibes I didn't even get to use all of Frankin's BOG photos, darn 25-photo limit!
