A DIS stalker's first pre-trippie...It's D-Day (Disney Day)!!

Is it Snow White?
Yes! 100 points for Jo!

Question from DTP...... In Mary Poppins what is Mrs bank's first name?

When we played DTP at Christmas we ended up just using the kids questions as the adult ones were far too hard :rotfl2:
Haven't found it yet, but I did learn that Mrs Banks and Mary never actually talk to each other--do you think that's true??

Practically perfect in every way..........just like me really!:rotfl2:

Really! What in the film or in real life?

If you say so :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Found it!
Mrs. Banks's first name was originally Cynthia. It was changed to the "more British-sounding" Winifred at P.L. Travers's request.

Mary Poppins and Mrs. Banks never speak to each other in the film.

Other cool stuff........

Dick Van **** had his heart set on playing Mr. Dawes, Sr., and said they didn't have to pay him, he just really wanted to do it for the fun. Although Walt Disney had offered him the part of Bert right out, he made him audition for the part of Mr. Dawes, Sr.

Ok--how many different jobs does Bert play???

Now isn't that funny that they ******* out Dick van's last name!
I had to sit and think of that one!

Too funny about Dick Van D*i*ke's name being filtered. :lmao:

Yup those are the 2 Paris movies!

I find it hilarious that they'll filter his last name, but not his first.

1. chimney sweep
2.one-man band,
3.a chalk artist,
4. and a kite salesman.

50 points to Deb!!! (now we remember them all, right?!)

ok-
Name the Disney films nominated for Best Picture (hint...one was created by Walt himself, and one wasn't)

Ooooh I know I know. :yay:

Mary Poppins and Beauty & The Beast. I admit I needed Google's help for Beauty and The Beast - it's weird cause I always thought Snow White got a Best Picture oscar but it seems it only got an honorary oscar.

Ding Ding Ding!

100 points to Deb!!

Thought this was funny:
Julie Andrews was left hanging in mid-air during one particularly long camera setup. The stagehands unwittingly lowered her wire harness rather rapidly. "Is she down yet?" called a grip. "You bloody well better believe she is!" fumed Andrews.

The word "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" seems to pre-date the movie, but language experts have yet to pin down by how much, or what, exactly, it originally meant. An urban myth is growing that it had something to do with Irish (or Scottish) prostitutes.

(Deb--got an opinion on that??):lmao:

Ok--another one (didn't know this...but kinda cool)
In Sleeping Beauty, the cookies that the fairies eat with tea are shaped like what?

Well you can make the words 'super', 'delicious' and 'lips' out of it but not the word 'hoo-ha' so no, I see no connection with prostitutes. :confused3 :lmao: And I think the myth is that it's prostitutes of Irish/Scottish descent but living in Virginia - they were innocent creatures before they crossed the waters. :rotfl2:

It took me 2 hours to get through this thread. Let me know if you want this moved to our regular TR, when you get back. Otherwise you can start a new thread. I see the "live report" going, so I don't know if you want to stick with that one, or start one yourself.
