Day 8: Saturday, June 27
We woke up around 9:15 a.m. and of course, while we were eating, the balloon was going up! But
then it stopped by the time we were getting ready to leave the room for DHS so I was happy. HAHA.
We made it to the bus stop and didnt have to wait too long for a DHS bus, which came around 11 a.m. Every time we get on a bus, we have several other stops to make around the Resort to pick others up/drop off. At one of these stops, a nice family got on our bus and sat next to Mom and Sis, which was directly across from me, B/F, and Dad. With this family was the cutest little girl. She kept patting Moms leg and talking to her. Soon, they were looking out the window for other buses and every time the girl saw a bus, shed go ook! ook! (look without the l) Mom would say, Yeah! Another bus! And the girl would laugh.
When we finally made it to DHS, the girl was waving and yelling Bye! to us while walking to the entrance. I love interacting with little kids and it definitely made me miss my little guy at home.
Once we made it into the park, we went our separate ways. Mom, Sis, and I headed to the American Idol Experience while Dad and B/F went to LMA: Stunt Show. Yes, we went to American Idol AGAIN. I was hooked on it! Its so much fun! There was hardly anybody there this time, so we were able to get a good seat! Heres the stage while we waited for the show to start at Noon:
It was a pretty good show. There was one contestant that was HORRIBLE. She was trying to be a punk chick and scream a song and it just wasnt working out. But, the girl I voted for won to move onto the Finale show!
We were done a bit before Dad and B/F, so we walked around taking some pics before heading to Streets of America to meet up with them:
Then, we headed over to Streets of America. We ended up finding a spot to sit on the steps outside of the hotel. Sis was excited looking around here because she went to New York this past November to perform in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade! Eventually, the LMA: Stunt Show crowd started pouring out and Dad and B/F spotted us.
We decided to watch the next Indiana Jones show, which was at 12:45, so we headed to the Indiana Jones gift shop to look around before going in. B/F LOVES the Indiana Jones movies, and when he was little, he even named his dog Indy. Indys such a good dog, but hes getting old now and thats definitely making B/F sad.
While we were in the gift shop, B/F bought his sister a Indiana Jones shot glass because she has started a huge collection of shot glasses. I decided to put the shot glass in my purse instead of having it sent back to the room because I didnt want it to break!
After paying for that, we headed over to find a seat for the show. We ended up way over to the left of the stage, but with 3rd row seats! They were awesome! During the whole show, I cant help but think of the famous Full House episode where they are watching the show and D.J. thinks Indiana Jones is Steve and when he falls from being chased by the big ball, she jumps up and yells Steve! HAHA. I hope some of you know what Im talking about!
After the show, we headed over to Pizza Planet for lunch. We found a table on the 1st floor, right by a door, which was great for when we were ready to leave. Sis and I had the Caprese Salad and a Mickey rice krispie, B/F had the Chicken Salad and a fruit bowl, and Mom and Dad both had pizza and a Mickey rice krispie.
When we were done eating, we decided to split up again. This time, Dad, Sis, and I went to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (yes Dad went!) show at 2:35 while Mom and B/F went over to RnRC. Walking to VotLM:
When we got in the waiting area before going into the theater, I remembered reading something on the DIS about Tinkerbells prison that was somewhere in the room, so Sis and I looked around and found it!:
After we took this picture, the doors opened up to let us in the show! This show has always been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. I can still remember my first time seeing it! The theater was packed so Dad held me on his lap so I could see better. I remember thinking that it was the neatest thing ever!
We got a good seat! Heres some pics that turned out from the show:
Its starting!:
The water coming down/the amazing lighting (the waves):
Here comes Ariel!:
Ursula!:
Ew, the eels!:
Ariel and Eric are back together again!:
*Sigh* I love that movie! Haha.
After the show, we headed towards RnRC because Mom and B/F were still in line-they had a 70 minute wait! They were going to text us when they were almost on the ride so we could head to the gift shop and wait for them. We stopped in the Planet Hollywood gift shop so Sis could buy the PH fleece vest that she saw earlier.
We also stopped in the Villains gift shop because I HAD to look in there after seeing pics of it on
Dawns TR. It really is a neat store for those who like the Villians!
Then, we headed over to the RnRC gift shop and when Mom and B/F said they were almost on, we went over to watch for the pic to show up on one of the t.v.s. It was hilarious. B/F looked like he was laughing and Moms screaming her head off.
After we met back up with them, Mom and Sis went to a stand and bought a frozen lemonade and pretzel to eat while we headed to the exit. I was getting nervous because the sky was getting darker and darker. It cant rain! We have a Luau to go to! On our 2007 trip, it was raining/storming on our Luau night and it got cancelled! It was our first WDW trip without the Luau since Sis and I were little and we weren't going to it. I was NOT letting that happen again. Ha.
We made it to our bus stop and was on a bus around 3:45 p.m. We headed up to the room to get ready while I prayed for the rain to go away! I had Mom take our pic on the balcony before we left the room:
As you can see, it looks not too bad behind us, but it was definitely black around the corner!:
~Up next: Will we get rained on?
