A Dining Pre-Trip Report? Sure! LIVE report now completed!

Just wanted to tell you that I'm loving your report. Thank you for taking the time out of your trip to share this LIVE with us :thumbsup2 .

Thanks! We like to have some down time, especially since it's July and hot so I am really enjoying doing this when we break.

mmmm i took tutto italia out last minute in ADRs and put in Raglan Road you're making me second guess myself:P

I've never been to RR - would love to try it though! I thought Tutto was going to be decent with okay pasta and maybe good service and I was SO wrong!

Oh, I so love this trip report! :thumbsup2

I am really looking forward to the rest of Tutto Italia because it is on my list as well, and I was not sure about likeing it.
And let me tell you that I admire you :worship: for doing your trip report while you are actually there. I tried to do so last summer, but gave up after about 5 days because of early mornings and late nights in the parks, LOL!

I really loved it and hope it stays around longer. And thank you! We don't really do super late nights here - we go at a much slower pace than most people - so it's been easy to keep up.

LOVE the pic of the view from the Boardwalk, it's my favorite place!!

Me too...The Beach Club and Villas is my happy place.

I cannot wait to hear about Tutto, that was one of our favs last April! Love your pics and report, great stuff! :thumbsup2

We haven't been to Spoodles, but that review is the first I've seen that looks REALLY good. I can't wait to read Tutto Italia, the mozzerella looks delicious all by itself!!

I am loving your live dining report, thanks for sharing with us. Sorry about your finger but I love the pin you got from first aid, so cute. Looking forward to reading more.

Laur's princess:

On to the entrees! Let's start with the kid's meals:

DS and DNee both ordered the same thing - the spaghetti with veal meatballs and pomodoro sauce. Now...I hate the idea of veal. I just do. But oh my, were these delicious!!!

DS's
July2108II035.jpg

I didn't take a photo of DNee's, because it was exactly the same. DH also ordered the adult size and he loved it...I tried to take a photo to compare the sizes, but I think we're looking at an accidental example of forced perspective here:

July2108II036.jpg

DH's in back doesn't really look much bigger, does it? DS's was a little more than half the size.

Both DS and DNee liked their meals and DH loved his:

July2108II034.jpg

With some cheese and a huge chunk of cheese that I think he just broke up and mixed in. I tried a little and it was so good!

Now...here is where I fall down on the job. I should have taken a photo of the menu, but I thought I'd go back to Allears and double check. But there have been some changes so I can't find some of the adult items on there...:sad2: This drives my perfectionistic self crazy so I might have to go back and take a photo of the menu outside. So, to the best of my recollection:

DSIL's - pasta with some sort of cream sauce and lump crabmeat:

July2108II037.jpg

She liked this very, very much...all the whiteish activity on top of the pasta is more crab meat. I am not a big crab fan (with the exception of Deadliest Catch, but I digress...) so I did not try this.

DNep's Entree #1 - Bucatini Gratinati...

more on this later, as I ordered the same thing!

DNep's Entree #2 - This was listed as a pork chop of some sort:

July2108II038.jpg

Story: DNep wanted the Bucatini because it is similar to something DB makes at home. DB also wanted it and had a pretty strong feeling DNep would not care for this version. So he ordered something he knew DNep would like and was just waiting for DNep to say he didn't care for the Bucatini and wished he'd ordered DB's entree. Very funny! DB was dead on that one!

DNep loved his meal and we all tried the broccoli rabe and it was really interesting and good.

Me - Bucatini Gratinati from the outside:

July2108II040.jpg

from the inside:

July2108II042.jpg

DB liked his a lot....as for me? Oh.My.God....! This is large spaghetti type noodles tossed with fresh peas and diced prosciutto ham in a parmesan cream sauce. Then it is covered with tons of pecorino cheese and baked. This is extremely rich and just delicious. I love me some cheese and I couldn't eat all the pecorino on top - too much! And I left about 1/3 of this.

To put the "I left this much" of whatever (Tonga Toast, Pasta, etc) into perspective, I am not a small eater so this isn't typical. WDW portions are just so big and some of the food is just really rich!

Our server was wonderful...he and his assistants had soda refills ready, he was charming and unobtrusive, and he served me my entree by saying "and the bucatini per la bella signora". How can you NOT love someone who serves you incredibly rich Italian food and declares it's for the beautiful lady?

(Even though he was full of it because this was after a hot afternoon and just coming out of a fresh rainstorm so beautiful, I was not...:rotfl: But I still loved it!)

Dessert was next and it was so hard picking!

Again, the kid's had great choices - gelato sundae, assorted gelato or sorbets, or chocolate mousse.

DS wanted the blood orange sorbet:

July2108II046.jpg

This came with a little Italian cookie and he ate every bite. Very happy with this!

DNee chose the chocolate mousse:

July2108II047.jpg

This was a chocolate cup filled with chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and a chocolate straw. She absolutely loved it and I was so impressed how elaborate it was. She ended up covering it with more chocolate sauce from DH's dessert.

DNep loves chocolate ice cream so he picked the chocolate gelato:

July2108II051.jpg

You can't really see from the photos, but his adult portion was quite a bit bigger than DS's kids'.

He was very happy with this!

DH orderd the profitteroles - cream puff pastry filled with vanilla gelato and covered at the table with hot chocolate sauce:

July2108II048.jpg

July2108II049.jpg

He absolutely loved this. I tried it and thought they were good, but I prefer my cream puffs with whipped cream. The chocolate sauce was hot and rich and there was a lot of it! DH had plenty and then we shared it with DNee.

DSIL chose the Gianduja - Chocolate Torta - chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce

July2108II050.jpg

She said this was incredibly rich but very good.

DB asked our server to pick something for him and he chose a cake covered in cream and fruit. He liked it very much:

July2108II052.jpg

I love tiramisu and I knew I should order it, but it sounded rich and after my dinner I wanted something lighter. I ended up going with the $14 (yes, not a typo!) Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce:

July2108II054.jpg

This was wonderful! There was a small cookie in the bottom, covered with tons of berries - blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries - then topped with zabaglione gelato and fresh whipped cream. Oh yes, and some chocolate sauce, but that was extraneous to the fruit and cream. Perfect after such a rich dinner.

I loved this so much more than I thought I would and it was great to try a totally new place. We had never been to Alfredos either so this was our first foray into Italy. The prices are expensive, but I can sortof understand why now.

huge thumbs up! :thumbsup2

Tutto Italia sounds great, I just know my hubby would love those meatballs.

Laur's princess:

I just want to lick the screen after that. Who can resist a gravy boat full of chocolate?

Joining the trip! I LOVE your pictures of Tutto Italia. My group of 10 are eating there the last night of our trip in December. Can't wait!:cool1:

May have to get ADRs at Tutto Italia when we go in December for the Bucatini Gratinati, it looks/sounds amazing, think its worth going for? :P

We already have an ADR for Le Cellier (at 6:30 pm, it was a miracle!) in the middle of our trip so maybe Tutto Italia our other Epcot day. Its only 1 DDP credit, correct?

:confused3 I read that Tutto is closing summer/fall 2008. :confused3 Lots of people are making ADRs even into January, did anyone say anything about closing? Must be plans have changed, which is great b/c I really want to eat there! Thanks for another super review!

OH MY GOD!!!! You chose exactly what we are thinking about trying for dessert!!
Thank you so much for your descriptions of the food items, makes it much easier for us, LOL!

Hope you are having a wonderful time with Mickey today! :wizard:

Tutto looks WONDERFUL. I wish that we had time to eat there on our trip, but DH insists on Coral Reef, and, since he didn't have much input for the trip, I want to let him have the few things he did ask for.

Oh my! I just worked on getting all of our PS for December set last night and arranged just the way I wanted them. Now you have me thinking we have got to try Tutto!

Wow! The earlier reviews of Tutto Italia were not that good, but the ones I've read recently have been great. The food looks delicious, and I may have to add it to my itinerary after all, despite the prices!

I'm glad we decided against the DDP. I'm not a big dessert eater and I can usually keep from ordering. But with all these great pics and descriptions as well as DDP I'd be too tempted! ::yes:: And once I start I'm doomed!

Now a cocktail before dinner is harder for me to pass up! :drinking1

Seriously, your great trip report has made me look forward to falling off my diet. I won't have any regrets.

Thanks again!

I know what you mean Cyndisun. I don't usually get dessert either but we are doing the Deluxe Dining Plan since we'll be on our Honeymoon. Right now I'm sitting here telling myself that I can only eat half of my entree. Do you think I'll do it in December?

Laur's princess:

DH really did! He thought they were much better than the ones on the kid's table at Boma. (MUCH better!)

I just want to lick the screen after that. Who can resist a gravy boat full of chocolate?

No kidding!! And I'm not really a chocolate person!

Joining the trip! I LOVE your pictures of Tutto Italia. My group of 10 are eating there the last night of our trip in December. Can't wait!:cool1:

It was really a lot of fun with a group! And paying separately for the two groups was not problem. Cute story: Our very Italian server completely bypassed DSIL and me when he delivered the check. No bills going to the ladies ;)

YES!! Worth going for, definitely! And congrats on the Le Cellier...those are like gold aren't they??

And yes, Tutto is only one credit :cool1:

I thought so too! I hope they change their mind and keep it - I don't know what Alfredo's was like but this is great!

DH is still talking about his - and DSIL agreed with him this morning how good it was. A note about mine - the berries were practically frozen, which was extremely refreshing.

Tutto looks WONDERFUL. I wish that we had time to eat there on our trip, but DH insists on Coral Reef, and, since he didn't have much input for the trip, I want to let him have the few things he did ask for.

I hear you! We have Coral Reef on our agenda this trip and I'm looking forward to it.

OMG! bring on the gravy boat...err...chocolate boat!!!:goodvibes

Really enjoying the report!!!

Thanks!!

Oh my! I just worked on getting all of our PS for December set last night and arranged just the way I wanted them. Now you have me thinking we have got to try Tutto!

HA! I do this constantly! :rotfl:

Wow! The earlier reviews of Tutto Italia were not that good, but the ones I've read recently have been great. The food looks delicious, and I may have to add it to my itinerary after all, despite the prices!

Exactly! The reviews I had read were NOT good - expensive, not worth it, bad service. Then recently there were some good ones so we decided to try it. SO GLAD we did!!!

I'm glad we decided against the DDP. I'm not a big dessert eater and I can usually keep from ordering. But with all these great pics and descriptions as well as DDP I'd be too tempted! ::yes:: And once I start I'm doomed!

I prefer the appetizers myself so I know what you mean. And as to the diet? My best friend and I are WW diet buddies and I look forward to her helping me get back on track...

I know what you mean Cyndisun. I don't usually get dessert either but we are doing the Deluxe Dining Plan since we'll be on our Honeymoon. Right now I'm sitting here telling myself that I can only eat half of my entree. Do you think I'll do it in December?

Good luck! I haven't had too much time leaving a lot of mine, but it's July and HOT! December is another story ;)

It's storming out and we're heading out soon to meet my DDd and DSM so I have a few minutes to cool down and do today's updates!

Again - a public service announcement: Toy Story Mania ROCKS!!!

******************

We met DB and Fam over at the BW this morning and all decided to have some breakfast. DB used 6 snack credits on pastries and juice and DH and I used two CS and one snack.

DNee and DNep each had a banana chocolate chip Mickey muffin:

July2208007.jpg

They both loved them.

DS had a bluebery Mickey Muffin:

July2208006.jpg

He said "too many blueberries". DH and I finished it and it was GOOD!!!

DB and DSIL each had a cinnamon roll:

July2208008.jpg

These looked very moist and fresh and they enjoyed them.

DH and I got a bacon, egg and croissant sandwich to share:

July2208010.jpg

This was SO good!!! The eggs were very well scrambled and dry, the bacon was super thick and completely cooked - not crispy, but chewy (no fat) and so good! The cheese added a nice touch, but was more of an afterthought. Next time, I would get my own, this was so yummy. Really hit the spot.

We also got another fruit plate that we shared with DS, DB and DSIL:

July2208009.jpg

For drinks, we got two yellow and two pink waters:

July2208011.jpg

The best thing I can say? They keep you hydrated. Otherwise? GACK!

All in all, a great relaxing breakfast on the Boardwalk! And we went late enough that it was totally not crowded at all. :thumbsup2

We desperately needed a break at the MK (HOT today!) and so DS and I hung out while DH ran to get a treat:

July2108086.jpg

(with my AWESOME filter bottle!!!)

July2108087.jpg

Yes, the infamous Dole Whip. Except the pineapple sorbet part was refilling. So DH bought vanilla soft serve in pineapple juice. Which means we have to go back.

DS fell in love with this!!

Where did you get the filter bottle? LOVE, LOVE the pictures of Tutto...we are going there for lunch in August.
