Has anyone done the campfire sing-a-long and movie or a hayride after HDDR? If so, please tell me about it? We are thinking about doing the early dinner, but don't know what to plan afterwards! THANKS! pirate:

I am thinking about doing this as well in June, and would be interested in feedback as well. I made HDDR res's for 5:00, know *** that the campfire will begin at 8:00, but that will give us at least an hour of "don't know what to do" time. Last time we were there (about three years ago) they had a petting zoo not too far from HDDR. Is that still there? I thought about the hay ride as well. Do you need res's for the hayride, or do you just show up?

The Petting Zoo is still there but it is only open until sunset (so you might miss it depending on what time of year you are going).

The Campfire Sing-A-Long is a great option. The start time varies again based on what time of year you are going (and when it gets dark). Right now the sing-a-long begins at 7:00pm with the movie begining at 7:40pm...so make sure you check the times for accuracy when you are planning to go.

The hayrides are fun, hubby and I did one prior to our HDDR show. There are no reservation, it is first come first served. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 3-9. They leave at 7pm and 9:30pm nightly right across from Pioneer Hall. The trip itself is about 45 minutes and takes you all over the campground. The driver tells you all kinds of stories. It really was a fun time.

There is also a Horse drawn carraige ride (like the carriages you see in the movies). The carriage rides are private (just you and your family). They are about 30 minutes long and you can make reservations for them. They have two different types of carriages, the small one can hold 2 adults and 1 small child and the large ones can hold 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children. These can be reserved anytime between 6pm and 9:30 PM and are picked up across from Crockets Taveren. The cost for those are a flat $30 (for 30 minutes). Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

What time would the 5:00 Hoop De Doo be over?

Do you have to be a WDW resort guest to attend the campfire & movie or even the hayrides???

Campfire/movie, carriage rides and hayrides are open to anyone, you do not have to be a guest at a WDW resort to take part.

The show is about an hour and 45 minutes so you should be out of there by 6:45.

We have done both the Campfire and the Hayride, but not at the same time as HDDR.

The one time we remember the most after HoopD is walking down to the sandy landing and watching the Electric Light parade from the FW beach. If you time it right, you can take the launch from there and watch the castle change colors from the Bay.

Pure magic!! (at no extra charge :)

We did the 7:00 Hoop Dee Doo last summer. Then we had time for a quick restroom break and jumped on the wagon for the hayride. It was a really nice ride and we went down to the beach and stopped to watch the Electrical Light Parade and the Mk fireworks which were Fire in the Sky at that time. A very nice way to end the evening.

Good point, I forgot about the Electric Water Pagent. The times for that are:

Polynesian Resort -- 9:00pm
Grand Floridian -- 9:15pm
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35pm
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45pm
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05pm
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20pm(only during extended Magic Kingdom Park hours)

and a little descritption in case some have not heard about it:
Originally presented for the dedication of the Polynesian Luau on October 26, 1971, the Electrical Water Pageant is presented nightly at our Magic Kingdom Area Resorts. The pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights featuring King Neptune and creatures from under the sea in an aquatic parade set to Disney music. Flags and Stars! The pageant concludes with an inspirational salute to America, with Flags and Stars set to a patriotic musical score.

So it would not work for the 5pm show unless you go to the campfire and then return to the beach, but still a great option...
