In the car heading home so thought I would do a fresh on the mind review.

Let me start with our last few visits being CL at the Boardwalk, so while it was a similar price to what we paid for those trips, with 2012 prices it was way cheaper to try AOA so we did.

There are 6 of us, including an 18 year old son and 14 year old daughter, so the 2 bathrooms were a big plus.

First impressions, blown away by the look of it all. Surprisingly, were greated by baggage guys that brought up our bags. Lobby adorable. Got my top floor room request so off we went. And told AOA was a Value Plus.

It's hard to describe the feeling as you walk out into the courtyard. You do feel like you are stepping into a movie. The kids loved it.

I think we were the first ones staying in our room. Shower knobs were new tight. The room was very big. Plenty of room for us. Bathrooms cute and themed! My son loved sleeping under crush every night. We were the last room 4825, so we heard no noise.

Beds were comfy. The fold down is the longer of the two and the bed of choice for my kids. It was more comfortable than the sofa bed, but the sofa bed is by the tv so that helped.

Pool! Amazing! They kept saying they were going to make us use the key access but in our week it only happened once. We had plenty of pool hoppers from pop. I would assume they will be more on top of that as more sections open. We never had trouble finding chairs. Pool activities were fun too, all afternoon. And that underwater music and talking. It got my son swimming! Very cute.

Food court, good. Pizza was only $15. I had the surf and surf one night and it was yummy. My dh liked his spinach and panere but the squash not so much. I found it to be quick( I know they had some issues early on but they seem to be improving it)

The Bus, oh I loathe the bus(16 Candles anyone?) one night the driver missed the exit and ended up on I4 it took about 45 minutes to get back. I did feel for the driver. It was getting ugly.

So AOA wins on Pool, room size, bathrooms and theme. The cars area at night is amazing. I did the creep on one of the rooms there though and I wasn't a big fan, felt like a garage and the Nemo rooms carried more of the movie IMHO.

Would we stay there again? Yes if we need the space. I did miss the location of the Boardwalk. I do worry about AOA turning into a Pop madhouse once all the sections are open. They were supposed to have an animator in the lobby but we never saw him/ her.

The furniture I painted. I hope it holds up because it is very cute. That would be my only fear in going back, that it won't be as clean.

Any questions? I have another 10 or so hours in the car.........

Thanks for the review!~ How long does it take to get from A of A to MK? Would love to stay there, but know we'll be at MK alot... Is there only one bus stop?

Thanks for the feedback. I am considering AoA because I think the kids will love it. It sounds great.

Yes one stop, and it's 15 at the MK so near the back, longer walk. It took 15 minutes on the good day. And then 45 on the horrible nighttime miss of stop.

Thanks for the review! Your title caught my eye, as we are die hard deluxe girls for amenities and resort size, but I've been curious about AOA, the photos make the resort look so cute.:) If we had small kids or the need for larger rooms, I would definitely think about it.

Oh, thank you so much for posting this! The kids really want to give it a try some time and DH and I are reluctant. We opted for Kidani this next trip.

What type of room were you in? (Did I miss that in your report?) We were very close to choosing a Little Mermaid room if they were going to have free dining. $750 for room and food for a week would have been hard to beat!

Thanks for the review.

Thanks for sharing this! Kinda stunned by that bus driver story... like wow!

Thanks for the review!! Too bad about that horrible bus trip-- I am sure the driver was freaking out as well!! I am pleased to get your perspective and that it is a positive one. I have dreams of a Theme Park view 1Br at BLT one day but I am afraid I would never be able to stay anywhere else again so I am glad to hear that AoA met your expectations for the most part.

I am going to guess a Nemo Suite based on her saying that her son liked sleeping under Crush ( I am assuming that is the picture above the Murphy bed??)

I've been thinking about you and wondered how you liked AOA.
So happy to hear that it went so well.

Like you, I've always been a deluxe girl but AOA has me intrigued.
It looks so nice and looks like so much fun.

Thinking of giving it a try next year (especially if the economy stays where it's been) and I'm so glad to get an honest opinion.

Safe travels!

Glad you had a great trip! We are a family of 5, so I could see us staying here sometime. So, your kids really liked the pool? That is one of my concerns, my oldest (7) loves the pool slides!

Ah, got it. I was thinking of the big Crush on the side of the building and thought "under" was figurative. :)

My friend just got back and she stayed at Pop . She says that the staff at Pop told them to use the pool over there because it was not full .
How can you tell who is from what hotel ? Do they put a band on you like at the Great Wolf Lodge?

Word is that the RFID room key card will also open the gates to the pool. From what I understand they are not currently enforcing pool hoppers based on what I have read.

Thanks for the review. We did CR on our last trip and considering AoA for the next and have wondered.

Thanks for the review!

We've only stayed onsite once--at BWI...and the underwater music/sounds at AoA really has me intrigued--but I worry about the bed situation--we also have a party of 6 and I'm not sure I'm into most of our beds being "converted" from some other piece of furniture. I'm glad to here it worked for your group, especially since some of your kids are older (and presumably bigger)than mine! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing!!!!! I would so give AoA a try!!

How was the gift shop??? I am a gift shop junkie! I hear there is resort-specific stuff at AoA?:goodvibes

Can't wait to stay here in December! We'll be staying in LM. The only thing I'm worried about is the walk to LM.

I am an architect and I can tell you the furniture systems they are using at AoA are some of the most innovative types out there for converting to beds. I have been to furniture systems symposiums and this is not the sofa bed set-ups like at SSR, etc. These are real beds that just happen to serve other purposes, like chairs and tables.
