Not sure how to begin one of these things so here we go. I left work around 2 pm the day before as I had so much to do and was panicking as to how I was going to get everything done:eek: . I needed the interior of the house painted and the only way that was happening if the pugspug: were elsewhere. Since they were going to my mom’s for the week I had arranged for the painters to come the week I was away. So not only did I have to pack for my trip and for the pugs to go to Grandma’s, that also meant I had to pack the house up so they could do their job. It seemed like a good idea 2 months ago when I called the painters, now I am thinking what an idiot I am for putting this stress on myself:crazy2: . So now at nearly 11 pm, everything and everyone is packed, have confirmed with Mom what time she is picking the boys up tomorrow and the alarm is set for 3:45 AM, yikes. I am worried that I won’t get up in time so I also set the TV alarm. A little OCD showing here. At 1 am I hear one of the pugs get up, I realize it is my rescue one. This is the dog that if you set the Hiroshima bomb under him he still wouldn’t wake up, so why is he up now??? I then hear him getting a drink of water. ARGH, of all nights to not sleep he chooses the one where I have to be up at 3:45. This is not good.

3:45 rolls around and thank goodness for alarm clocks, it wakes everyone up, though not all are happy. I would normally just put them in the yard to do their business but I couldn’t risk my little one barking at 4 am and ticking the neighbors off. See if a plane flies over head he will try to chase it , barking the whole time. I never claimed the pugs were smart. I get the leashes out and we are all set except for the one who was thirsty a few hours earlier. He is still in bed and not budging. Not only is he the laziest creature but also the gentlest. However, if you could have seen the look he was giving me right now, no one would think he was gentle. Heck even I was thinking that if I didn’t know this dog I would be worried. I have never seen such a look as the one he is giving me. This is one ticked off dog, now he knows how I felt a couple of hours ago. Finally we are off and they all do their business and get fed. I finally can take a shower and get my butt out of here.
:drive:

I'm first! :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to this TR!!! :dance3: What's a vacation without a little stress to get you started???

Welcome aboard, :welcome:

Next time I will take additional days off, it was way too stressful that week.

So I am finally on my way to the airport. I park at an offsite place that offers a door to door shuttle service. The first time I used them I told them how wonderful they were and the guy gave me a special discount card. :goodvibes It costs me about $11.00 a day which is a nice discount.
I check in and get through security and find my way to the gate with no issues. I see a Starbucks and get some breakfast. I see a girl about 11 knitting. Are knitting needles now allowed? She seems harmless, but still I am surprised to see them. So they make the call for families pre-boarding. Now everyone except about 10 people line up to get on board. UMMM, do you all realize this pre-boarding is for families with young children that require a little extra time.:rolleyes1 Not just if you are a family. I love the TV’s on Jet Blue but this early on Saturday morning and there is an awful lot of infomercials. I finally find I Love Lucy :happytv: and it’s the episode where her an Fred fall asleep on the Staten Island Ferry and need to get to the passport office before it closes, followed by the one where they leave for Europe and Lucy needs to be helicoptered to the ship. We took off almost a half hour late, but we arrived at MCO early. Don’t you love how airlines will have the time between take off and landing scheduled for 3 hours, but actual flying time is 2 and quarter. Gotta keep those on time ratings.
Finally I am in Orlando and am taking the monorail to the main terminal. My first stop is the Croc store. I am dieing to try the Cleo and Patra styles. They don’t have any in stock in my size. Oh well, I’ll try next week. Off to get my checked bag. Well I can't get near the carousel so I wander to the far end where noboby is. The carousel starts up and what to my blue eyes see, yep my bag is first off :cool1: , and I don't see any others. All those folks crowding around are still standing there, my one bag came off and I didn't see any others when I walked away. I am off to the rental car, which is on the National Emerald Aisle. I absolutely love this service, get your bags, go straight to the garage and hop in a car of your choice. I got a red car this time. Last time I got a bronze one and needed to use the panic button to find it in the WDW lots. Yeah, that’s right a blonde needing the panic button to find her car. Really didn’t want to repeat that. So now I am off to check into Portofino Bay. Yeah Mouse fans I am trying another place for one night, one night only.

Sounds like you are off to a great start. Looking forward to the next post.

Hi Puggy mom....good thing you put a link in your siggy so I could find you. And I am near the beginning too :thumbsup2 I just have to say I love your doggie trio in your siggy too! ;)
Yikes  you made such an early start and pixie dust pixiedust: was following you since you got out of the airport lickity split! Can't wait for more! :thumbsup2

Hey Puggymom! Great start to your trip report. I can't believe your luggage was the first off. You can count on mine being the last:scared: Did you say that there is a Croc store in the airport? I am going to be in MCO in two days and if there is a Croc store I am so there :cheer2:

I'm in!!!!! How did you swing getting your bag off first??? Did you pay somone??

And...a croc store in the airport???

Looking forward to reading more of your trip report... also, I had to say that I love your pug picture!!! (We have a 9 month old pug puppy!!!)

I'm in. At least now I know why my puggle barks at airplanes and helicopters that fly overhead. It's her pug half's fault:) Not good when you are in the flight path of the Naval Air Station:sad2:

Looking forward to the rest of the report

Janet

Thank you so much for dropping him and the lanyard off, that was a great surprise. Fritz was right there waiting for me.

:welcome: Everyone

twob4him -it's all about the Karma

Hey there DLMama, I need to post to your pretrippie about lime green tanks I saw today, when I have time later, need to take the pugs to the vet in a few

Vero4us and goofyluver - YES, there is a croc store, but wait til then end of the trip when I tell you about the'TUDE there:rolleyes:

bbump - congrats on the Pup, pugs will make you laugh everyday.

jcc0621 - I don't live all that far from Newark airport, that's why I couldn't risk putting the little one out at 3:45. I'm not in a direct flight pattern, but enough come close that if we are outside we hear and see them, well let's just say it is quite a show he puts on.

Hi Puggymom, looking forward to reading more about your trip. I can't wait to hear your thoughts about Portofino Bay... we love that place!

Give your pugs an extra scratch behind the ears for me, would you? They are soooooo cute! :goodvibes

So I easily find Universal, let’s face it is hard to get lost if you stay to the main roads, always plenty of signs to tell you where to go. Well, that and obsessive planning with directions on your spreadsheets that you printed and packed in your carryon so they wouldn’t get lost by the airline. Anywho, I arrive at PB and immediately fall in love. I decided to valet park as I do love to pamper myself when on vacation since in real life I don’t pamper myself much. I check in and they have a room ready. Well let me tell you what a great room it was. It was a water view and I think my house could fit inside the bathroom. All right, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but it is the biggest hotel bathroom I have ever seen.

The beds are so high, I am only 5’3”, and boy when you are tired it seems a step stool would have been in order to get on those bad boys. But they were comfy.

Oh something weird happened, I look at my window and somehow I’m in Italy! I don’t think I could have gotten a better view.

My only complaint is this hotel is not a Disney hotel. This is absolutely better than any deluxe at WDW. Oh and I thought what a nice walk from International Gateway to the Epcot resorts is. Well… look at this walkway…
