A Croc, a pair of crocs, Karma and what is all this stuff around my neck? update 6/17

:rotfl2: Croc shame? Pain before beauty, eh???

What can I say?

Wow, that hotel is really beautiful! Hmmmm... now I've got to come up with a plan to actually get there. :scratchin:

Oh, yeah start planning your 2008 trip now. You know you are just itching to start another spreadsheet.:lmao:

On to day 2...

I woke up in the beautiful Italian Villa and am starving. I decide to pamper myself with breakfast from room service. Yeah it was pricey, but I'm on vacay baby! I had a delicious omelet, best meal so far:thumbsup2

I pack my stuff up and take my bags down to bell service and check out. I really, really wish this was a WDW hotel.

Off to the parks. Crowds, what crowds:confused3 I take a quick ride on Hulk and Spidey I love these rides. I was too frustrated from the day before to head to the back of the park for Dueling Dragons. I head over to US, still VERY light crowds. I walk on pretty much everything. I went on Jimmy Neutron, this used to be something else, but I can't remember. Seems like they just change the theming here. Cute ride, if your kids like Jimmy Neutron this is a must. Off to Mummy and the lockers....

I just hate these lockers. It took several tries but I finally got one open. At least with out the crowds it wasn't as frustrating. I go and ride a couple of times, even got front row one time. Now I have to get my stuff out of the locker:headache:

I try once, I try twice, I try thrice. Sorry, please call attendant for assistance. ARGH!!!!! I hate these lockers. I go over to the ride entrance and tell teh guy I need help. O.K. I can call someone for you, just wait by the lockers. OK do I get FOTL for this too? As I am waiting I see a manager type person walk by, so I flag him down. I was calm about it , I let him know the lockers "just don't work". He very sympathetically agrees and wishes they didn't use this technology. Gee, you think. As I am talking a very nice Australian woman comes over and can't get into her locker. She is also blonde, but I really don't think this is a blonde thing. These lockers just suck! Finally the guy with THE KEY (see there is only one key and one guy to open the lockers, he must be very busy)comes by and I have to sign and fill out forms, get them notarized and filed with county to get my stuff out. OK I am exagerrating again, just a little. :sad2:

So now that I got all my stuff, off to Earthquake and Twister. These are OK, enjoyable , but nothing that needs to be ridden again. It's lunch time and since I know I like the tuna, I will stick with what I know, so I go back to the place I had dinner last night. No need to risk another bad meal. Stick with what you know! In an attempt not to be boring, this time I get a giant peanut butter cookie:thumbsup2

Next up, did the Universal guy Focker someone?

Oh so I forgot one very important thing in my last update. I changed my shoes for the day. Yep, I faced my croc shame. I am going out in public in crocs.

I was very uneasy about letting others see me in crocs. But I did, yep, I wore them amongst complete strangers. I am so brave.

And let me tell you, how glorious my feet felt. I could here the angels singing.

Still think they are butt ugly, but don't care.

So back to day 2...

So eat my tuna and take the cookie to go. Terminator is doing a last call. No not that kind of last call:drinking1 I head into the theatre. You know I don't really remember if I liked this or not from when I did it last time. I guess cause it isn't worth remembering. This is not a must do. I won't be back.

Since I am so over the whole putting all my stuff in those lockers that I hate. I am sticking with the shows. First up, Horror Make up Show. Entertaining, funny at times, learned a few things. Then it happened. The guy on stage gave THE SIGNAL to some kid sitting in the audience. He didn't know this kid, I don't think either one DIS, they have no lime on and there he is giving THE SIGNAL to some kid. I don't know what to do. Do I stand up and give THE SIGNAL? Are they Focker Watchers? Do I flash a LGMH? I checked my spreadsheet, but nothing on it about THE SIGNAL happening at US. I am just dumbfounded.

I am not sure what happen next, but I found myself outside somehow. I stumbled over to the Beetlejuice show. I sat down and try to get myself together. The show starts and it's o.k. nothing to write home about and then OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It happens again. Beetlejuice does THE SIGNAL Now I really don't remember seeing Beetlejuice around the DISboards. And yet I am sure I saw THE SIGNAL

This is all just too much for me.

I am so confused and lost, I need to go home. As in WDW home, not NJ home. I need to go where my peeps are. Mickey I coming home baby!!!!

Hopefully not as long as it took me to figure out what a static caravan was?
:rotfl2:

I still can't get over the locker fiasco :confused3

I don't know what to do. Do I stand up and give THE SIGNAL? Are they Focker Watchers? Do I flash a LGMH? I checked my spreadsheet, but nothing on it about THE SIGNAL happening at US. I am just dumbfounded.
:rotfl: Don't leave us hanging what did you do :rotfl:

Before I go home, (as in WDW, not NJ) I want to sum up Universal.

The good
-THE HOTEL was awesome, beautiful, wish it was Disney.
-FOTL, when the lockers work and you can find it
-Hulk, Spidey at IOA (and if you get a chance Dueling Dragons and Jurassic Park which I have on other visits)
-Mummy is awesome, MIB (and not because of the pug stuff in the requisite gift shop) and the classics, ET and Jaws.
-The tuna and cookies
-the theming at IOA, if you have little ones especially, you should check out Suess Island.

The bad
-the dry chicken
- THE LOCKERS, stay away from these demons

Overall worth a side trip once in a while. But I don't feel the need to go every trip. I am definately a Disney girl, but I can appreciate what US has to offer, well except the lockers and the chicken.

Now it's time to turn put the car on I4 and head home.:cool1:

Ah, it appears, once again, my timing is impecable! I arrive just as you leave the Dark Place... :sad2:

Ok Ill admit it too....I also have croc shame!!!
But let me tell ya, I got over it really quick after one day with horrible flips on. The rest of the trip it was nothin but crocs baaybee!!!
psst...I even wore them in NJ this week*gasp*

Mo, I love your new siggy pic! :thumbsup2 Your pugs wear the Lime well!

Now then, about WDW....
Are we there yet?????? popcorn::

I'm sorry but I was laughing myself silly over your locker pain. Laughing with you, really. :rotfl2:

Last May when we were at USO my hubby was getting us a locker at Mummy so that I could store my purse and a few other things. I forgot that you had to be assigned the locker first and I just grabbed one, threw our stuff in it, and slammed the door shut. Can you imagine the horror on DH's face..."That's not the locker we were just assigned!"

D'OH! :headache:

And then I was sent off in search of a locker attendant as punishment and sternly told to "never try to be helpful again." :rotfl2:

Hugs for you and your dad... I'm glad you have such lovely memories of him.

Great trippie so far - looking forward to the good stuff now that you're on your way "home." :goodvibes

I will admit to the lockers being a dark place, very dark.

Glad to have you onboard.

I even wore them in NJ this week*gasp*

As for the rest of you are your seatbelts fastened securely? Good! I need to go clean and do laundry, so the ride may take a while. See you in WDW:cool1:

:happytv: :thumbsup2

Great TR so far! Can't wait for the WDW part!

We stayed at Universal (Hard Rock) for a day at the end of our trip a few years ago. Very nice (especially the pool - they play music underwater) but I couldn't go "off World" for more than a day or two either, I totally agree.

I love your siggie too! My best friend from school (she lives in SF now) has a pug named Mookie. Mookie is so cute and he eats everything in sight. He has to be put on a diet to make the weight limit to fly on planes with her, which I always thought was funny. But anyway...great TR, thanks for sharing your trip with us! :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard, thanks for joining in. I was supposed to stay at HRH, but that got loused up and they gave me PB for 20 or 30 more, so I took it.

Tell Mookie the boys said HI!

So with my bags retrieved from bell services I turned the red rental towards the Mouse.

I pull up to the BC and proudly annouce that I am checking in:cool1: I swear there is only one guard at the BC and he must live in that booth. Everytime I come here the same guy is there welcoming me home. Anywho, as I am getting my parking pass from the guy who lives in the booth, I see an ME bus pull in the other gate:eek: No way am I letting a bus load get ahead of me at check in. So, I say thanks for the parking pass and pull a few Nascar moves to get parked as quickly as possible.

PSA, you need to take the seatbelt off before exiting the vehicle.:headache: No further details needed.

I grab my bags fast and start running (o.k. maybe not run, but walking really really fast) to the entrance. Uh oh, one family is already off the bus and has their bags. But those other losers are just too slow for puggymom. Which is pretty sad as I am 40 and out of shape. I'm in the lobby before the rest of those slow pokes. BTW, I hope you aren't getting the impression that I am competitive or anything like that.

I get in a very short line:thumbsup2 and before I know it I am at the desk. Hi, yes I am checking in, reservation under puggymom and I believe there is a package waiting for me. My room isn't ready, but they got my package for me. So I take the card with the # you call to check on your room and decide I will go over to AK.

OK I have an admission here. I didn't know what time I was going to get to WDW and didn't have a plan for the remainder of the day. There I said it, now let's all move on in an orderly fashion.

I hand my bags over to bell services and the guy says hey I know that accent. Jersey, right? Yep! North Jersey right? Yep again. Turns out he is from the next town over from where I grew up. Now everyone knows the song, It's a small small world after all, all right enough of that annoying little tune.

I go back out to the red rental and open my package. It's Friztie and a Focker lanyard:cool1: :cool1: I proudly put the lanyard around my neck which now has my sunglass strap thingy and my small little bag with my wallet, etc. I have been warned about Fritz causing trouble because he has magnets on his feet beforehand and the nice lady that checked me warned me about magnets and my room key. HMMMM, did she look in my package???

So off to Ak, I honestly don't know why I picked this park, but I did. This is where not having a plan gets you into trouble. I park the red rental and hop on a tram. I got in the park without any problems, AP and finger scan worked perfectly, you know just like those locker finger scans at Universal. Sorry, I am not over how bad those lockers were. The place is packed and it's hot:headache: OK why is this park so darn hot, is it the vegetation or what. I am already dreading this park when I go in August 08 (yes I am already doing trip planning for that and the one in Feb 08). I may have to ride Kali, which I usually avoid. I try EE, but single rider is like 30 minutes, too long. I decide to call mom and check on the boys. So far so good, except the little one (remember he is the one that likes to chase planes) is being a real momma's boy and is missing me. This happens every trip and I have started to leave a shirt that I have worn so he can sleep with it and apparently it is helping, some, not a lot.

Anywho, so all is good at home. I am tired and this park is too hot and crowded, I ponder going to DTD and going to Earl's for dinner, but I just want to check in. So I head back to BC and get my refillable mug and take a walk to check out the BW. I call about my room and am told to call in about 5 minutes. I head back and sit in the solarium (not to be confused with sanitarium) for a few and call back. YEAH! It's ready. I get 4608. I go get my bags from bell services and head up to my room.

It's a standard view, but not looking at a parking lot.

I would just love to know the story as to how that stuff got there:eek:

As a solo, this room was great, it wasn't far from the elevators and it wasn't a parking lot or loading dock view. But if I had kids this is a bit smaller than other BC rooms I have stayed in. There was no room at all for a day bed and the desk/table that is normally between the bed and balcony is next to where the tv is as there is no room between the bed and the balcony.

Next up Beaches and Cream and let's try another park.

Maybe I'm jsut over-tired, but this has me in a fit of giggles! :rotfl:
