1) We are renting a car and driving down . where do we park, and how much is it to keep the car there for the 3 night cruise. How do we check in our bags?

2) Are they still doing airline check in at the terminal? If so, which airlines? I would rather do this than wait in line at MCO.

Hi Jonette!

Parking at the port is $8 per night, prepaid as you drive in, so you'd pay $24 for your three-night cruise.

You will drop your bags with the porters curbside at the terminal and then park your car across the street and walk back (it's a very short walk).

Some airlines do allow you to check your bags at the terminal. I'm not sure if all five of them are allowing offsite check-in now but those that were are:

Delta
Continental
Northwest
US Air
American

Enjoy your cruise! :)

if you're in a car, you park in the lot that's right there...next to the terminal...
if you're in a van you park across the street.....(just a few steps further)....

Can you please tell me what you mean when you say that the Airlines let you check your luggage at the terminal? Stupid question, I know but we are flying down on American with 5 people and all that luggage. Just trying to get as many tips as possible to make our trip go smoothly. Thanks :D

There are airline reps at the Port and they process your baggage right there - so all you have to do is just get on the bus and enjoy! And of course, pick up your bags when you get to your final destination - unless your luggage decides to take another vacation without you!

I still don't understand. You still need to get your own luggage to the port though right? We are renting a car once we get to the airport to get down by the port. Thanks :D

Julie 363,

They are talking about checking your luggage for the trip home. You have to claim your luggage at the port after leaving the ship, then clear Customs and Immigration. Outside the terminal building, they have airline agents who will check your luggage there at the port and transfer it to the airport. The advantage is that you don't have to wait through the long lines at the airport to check in for your flight. You can check in at your gate.

If you're renting a car at the airport for transfer to the port, you must claim your luggage at MCO, and then check it in with the porters when you arrive at the port. Don't put the cruise line luggage tags on until you've claimed it at Orlando airport. You can drive right up and drop off the luggage, and then go park. Or, if you're returning your car at Avis' desk at the Radisson, have one person take the car back and the rest of your group go into the terminal to check in. The driver can then catch the shuttle from Avis to the port.

If you purchase transfers from Disney, they'll claim your luggage at the airport and transfer it to the ship.
