We last went to the parks 5/00. There was a Mulan parade at MGM at that time. Is this parade still running or a replacement for it? Is the stars and motorcar parade just cars with people in them or characters??? and lastly is the spectromagic parade essentially the same as the old electric light parade....

thank you all:p

Mulan is no longer the parade at the Studios - the Cars and Stars parade replaced it. It's full of characters like your typical Disney parade, except that they are (for the most part) riding in themed vintage cars.

As for SpectroMagic - it's not new, it made its debut way back in 1991 but was then retired for a bit when they brought back the Main Street Electrical Parade. The two are very different indeed - Different floats, characters, music, effects, etc. It's definitely worth seeing!

"Stars and Motor Cars replaced Mulan, there are LOTS of characters in the cars (and walking to greet the crowds). Spectromagic is a light parade also, with characters from Little Mermaid, Fantasia, Peter Pan, Alice, Pinnochio, Cinderella, and all the classic characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto). We've seen Spectromagic four times, and I still love the music from it.

thank you for the info...everything helps in the planning...my DH has no idea how much planning I do to make the trip seem to flow so well!!
