A couple DL dining questions

1. The Disney rewards Visa site says that if you use the card you can get 10% off your lunch at Wine Country Trattoria (among other places). Does anyone know if this applies to the WOC lunch? I asked when I made the reservation and the CM said that it states the Visa discount applies at WCT for meals from 11-4, so she thought it would. I just wonder if anyone has experienced it.

2. We would like to do a character breakfast or brunch on our DL day. I am leaning towards Surf's Up, but don't want to waste early morning park time. If we are at the park for opening, is it possible/feasible to take the monorail from Tomorrowland to the vicinity of PPH for about a 10:30 brunch? Or do we exit from the park entrance? How long should we allow for either route?

I don't know about #1, but #2 a conditional yes I think. But it depends on when the park opens that day. If it opens at 9, you won't have much time to be in DL before you'll be leaving. Bear in mind, you'll have to get to the TL monorail station if you aren't nearby already, you may have to wait (there may be a line already, though likely not that early). And the DTD monorail station is still a 10-minute walk from PPH. Unless it's an early entry day (and you have access), you might be better off doing Plaza Inn in DL, itself, or Storyteller's Cafe in GCH.
