A Commando Trip Report 6 Days Almost 100 On The Move Hours!

One of the main reasons I don't plan every second, you never know when you will catch a great opp, It's a good thing too that we took advatage of the line situation at TS, although we went back to HS later in the week, we were not able to get on (Day 5)QUOTE]

But then how can I get my OCD planning fix if I don't plan every second?! :lmao:

I've had to re-think my park plans for my next trip due to some schedule changes by Disney and the full marathon route on Sunday. Next I'm going to put together a list of must-do's at each park. I feel my commando-ness starting to come back slowly.

Ohh I love the way you plan it so me. Can't believe the short wait time on TSM unheard of. Can't wait to read more.

The wait times for TSM were unheard of, that is why we had to take advatage of it. I did figure out the factors of the low HS EMH's attendance

-cold,cold, cold:eek:
- MVMCP going on at MK
- Candlelight Processionial at Epcot

I'm sure it's not often 2parks have major events going on plus 1park on a EMH, but I'll take it:cool1:

Hope to get to Day 2 Weds night, for jmm476 I visit WCC at WL on day 2 I got to say I liked the whole picture of that resort, I don't know if you have ever been there or not, but nice choice:thumbsup2

We haven't been there before. The last time we went on a family trip with Mom and stepdad, we stayed at Poly. It was their choice to stay at WL this time, I'm not much of a "wilderness" girl, but I'm excited to see it and DH says it's as close to camping as I'll ever be. :rotfl2: It looks beautiful in pictures. Of course, we won't do much at the hotel except sleep there but I'll check it out early one morning before the rest of the crew is awake!

Can't wait to see the rest of your report.

We arrive for the 8am EMH we enter through the RainForest Cafe entrance (no line what so ever:cool1:) get to the bridge and watch the opening show, after rope drop we immediately head to the Killmanjaro Safari, I will say out of all the times we've done it this was the best one yet, all the animals were close and on the move, we saw animals I never saw before there walking around that are usally hiding somewhere, the Lion was standing looking over the land from the piont of the cliff, It was AWESOME:yay:

After the Safari we did the trails, and were ready for breakfast at the bakery between the Safari and the Tusker House (I had the apple turnover) it was the biggest turnover I think I ever had loaded with apples, I had to get a fork and knife:lmao: we then headed to Asia were we saw the Flights Of Wonder Show. For a couple days people that were at the show that we ran into would say to me, hey your the guy that the bird grabbed the dollar from.

I was picked to participate in the show, I got to hold a dollar up, was not sure of what size bird was on its way:scared1: Well it wasn't the smallest bird I ever saw (it was a Hawk, Falcon size) landed on my arm and grabbed the dollar, a few minutes later he was back on my arm bringing it back, I found out later that the bird was a African Pie Crow named Harley. I have to say this was just too cool:cool1: My son got a big kick out of it and still talks about it:goodvibes, My wife grabbed the dollar from me for the scrapbook, although this is the 1st time she didn't spend money she grabbed from me:lmao:

We then went to go see Nemo The Musical, we wanted 1st row 2nd level since some of the actors run by, and that is what we got, that is now our new spot if it is availible:woohoo:

After the Nemo show we did the only ride for the day in AK, Dinosaur this is one of my son's favorites, he loves all Dino's and anything that has to do with them:love:line was about 30mins alittle long but my son was not going to leave before getting on:lmao:

Next we hit the meet and greet at Discovery Island, it was Pooh, Eeyore & Tigger in Cristmas Outfits:banana: My son was sleeping for some of the pics and Pooh was making cute poses with him as he slept, he woke up a few minutes later like where am I:confused3

Lunchtime - Flametree BBQ our favorite is the ribs with chocolate mousse for dessert:goodvibes

After lunch we went to see The Lion King, another great show:woohoo: We were in the Lion section.

Time to set up for Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade (we always try to find a place with something solid on one side and a escape route close by:rolleyes1
Most of the stuff in the Parade were the same as the normal one with a added Christmas twist (Santa Goofy was my favorite)

Now its time to get out of AK and head out for our 5pm ADR at Whispering Canyon Cafe at The Wilderness Lodge, I've never been there before and I have to say I liked the whole place from what I saw of the Resort, I would go as far to say I would rather stay there then, Contemp, GF or Poly It just hit me in a great way:goodvibes

We had 5pm ressies(1st seating) once again we were seated and served quickly, our waiter's name was Right Neigborly and he was:) we did the ketchup game and I mellowed out with a few Ultimate Long Island Ice Teas:lmao: For dinner I had the strip steak:cool1:

Day 2 to be continued we're off to the MK::MickeyMo

WCC is a great place to eat with the kids. They love taking all that ketsup to someone elses table. Have neve gone to see FoW, but will have to next time. Sounds like you had a great time bird man.:) WOnderful day you had.

I was into WCC as much maybe even more than DS, when we got the ketchup it came from across the room, the next person to ask for it was at the next table, oh well no journey there:lmao:

We love the FoW show the brids are really cool, it's amazing to see the size of some of them up close:scared1: The thing I was most worried about was the bird would have to poop:lmao: I was wearing a black jacket and it would have made a real mess:eek:

After dinner and a walk around WL we head for the bus to MK, plan is to meet up with a bunch of Dis Dads that were there:goodvibes All the way there alot of texting going on with the Dads. We arrive to MK get our Double wide stroller for DS so he can bomb out if he needs to, walk out of the MS train station and :scared1: Parade is going on, now I'm in a panic, I love the parade but not where we are:scared1: For parades and fireworks MS and the Hub I avoid at all costs:scared1: Way too many people:eek:, Well we are stuck there nowhere to go until parade is over:confused3

After the parade we make our way up MS, it's like a trout swimming upstream:rolleyes1 we get up to the IC shop and turn off quick to Tommorrowland my son wants to get on Space Ranger Spin, get on line and we have a very short wait 5-10mins (I wonder where everyone is, oh I know MS:lmao:)

We then walk past SM, says 20 standby time, sounds good so we get on line, it was more like a hour wait, and the Dads are texting me on where I am (they were waiting for the fireworks at the Hub:scared1:) We missed the fireworks, I figured since the park was open till 1am they would still be around when we got off, wrong 3 went back to the Resorts for the night, I meet 2 Dads when I got off SM 2 Dads (Carl & Christopher were waiting for me) It was a good thing we were looking for each other, the drinks I had at WCC kinda threw me off alittle and told them the wrong side we were on:lmao: (Carl is also a WDW Commando Member)

After a few minutes Christopher had to go, and we meet up with Carl's Family my son took to his kids almost on the spot:goodvibes, we then went on Space Ranger Spin my son beat All our scores combined he had 455,000:scared1: (not bad for a 5yr old, he must know something:lmao:) After that Carls wife left to go back to the Resort, and we headed to The Laugh Factory we've been hanging out for 20mins and now I got him in trouble:lmao: I was giving him some contact #'s for some Dads and he was putting them in the phone and the opening Monster has him on the screen saying Hello, Hello, Hello, pick up the phone:lmao:

We then went across the park to POTC it had like a 5min wait:cool1: after that we did Big Thunder Railroad, 3 TIMES it had just enough people on line that you had to get off and get back on, after the 2nd time we were going to move on, but the kids wanted to do it again, so I made a deal with all off them that if we did it again HM was next they all agreed:woohoo: well needless to say after the ride they all backed out of the deal:confused3

We then went to IASW and walked right on :yay: We were going to do PP but the line was crazy, we were trying to figure out why the line for PP is always huge:confused3

It was around midnight and decieded to call it a night, we covered all this in 1 1/2 hours, we got to leave things to do for the next time:goodvibes So we all headed for the buses. What a great night:goodvibes

Next Day 3 Total Change Of Plans:confused3

Will have to look at my pictures and see if I can see ya, as we were at Epcot on the 5th!! :thumbsup2

The 5th was warm in the day, I was wearing a polo shirt that said The Dis Dads Club on one side, and Disney Commando on the other.

Flights of Wonder is a great little show! I got picked for participation once as well. It turned out to be quite entertaining! :rotfl:

Three times in a row on BTRR?? :cool1:

Enjoying the TR.

What?! You have a commando shirt??? I want one! :woohoo:

I actually have 3, Didn't get to wear them as much as I wanted to, since most of the time I had a jacket on, I should of done the sweatshirt & jacket, but who knew, it was in the 80's down there when I got them, Later in the TR, you will find that the Mouse Himself noticed and liked the shirt:goodvibes

No, Invited up on stage.

We were there with a close family friend and her DD. When we went into the theater, the friend decided that she would take all of the kids up to the front to sit. During the show they asked for one person with a camera and one person with a video camera. She was picked for the camera and, strangely enough, I was one of the only people in the audience with a video camera.

Since we were sitting in two different areas, no one thought that we knew each other. As soon as we sat down, they made introduction then she planted a BIG KISS on my cheek. I played it off as shock. The reaction from the host was priceless!

And I got some decent video of an eagle flying about a foot over our heads.

:lmao: I remember that part the bird was on the large side too:scared1: One of the guys they picked hit the ground when the bird came in:lmao: In your case everyone was most likely Check this out, did that just happen:confused3:lmao:

This was a late start day we had a 9am ADR at The Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club Resort, we drove over since we were going to Seaworld after breakfast. We get to The Beach Club and at the door we were Welcomed by the greeter (The older guy who has been there a very long time, I think he is a WDW Resort Icon:confused3). During breakfast my son started with I don't want to go to Seaworld, I want to go to Epcot to TT & MS, after trowing a fit we caved in (if he's not happy, no one is going to be happy:mad:) So we check out the Gingerbread Merry Go Round:thumbsup2, and bring the van back to our Resort.

We then grab the bus to Epcot (scored another Transportation Card:cool1:) When we get to Epcot we head to TT wait time 50 mins, so we grab a FP and head to MS (sons new favorite ride) Green side 5 min wait:yay:, After MS we head to Universe of Energy (son is into the Dino's), for my DW and I it was 1/2hour nap time:lmao:, when we get off you guessed it back to MS x 2, and then use FP for TT:banana:

We then head over to WS for a walk around and to see if we can catch a few shows, after texting for a hour I meet up with Dave and his DD (DisDad & Commando Member) for a brief meeting, he was on his way back to his Resort, it was great to meet him, we were trying to catch up with each other for a couple days:goodvibes

Walking around WS, we used a Snack credit in Germany on the huge pretzel:woohoo: we were able to catch the Drum show in Japan:woohoo: We were on our way to Canada for Off Kilter, and inbetween UK and Canada, it was Character Jackpot, I spotted Wendel (Country Bear Jamboree) and the noticed that the gates were open to some building (no clue what it was, since you normally can't get to it:confused3) Anyway it was like winning the lottery:woohoo: Gideon, Bolt, Capt. Hook, Pinocchio, The Genie, Max, Annie, June, & Suzy:woohoo: the gates were only open for about 10 mins, they closed while we were there, and no one else could enter, I wonder if they do this alot:confused3 I know I'll be checking that spot on future trips:cool1: by the time we got out of the meet & greet Off Kilter was almost done.

We had a 3:30 ressie at T-Rex Cafe, so we were on the bus to DTD for a early dinner.

By now you know if it deals with Dino's we will be there:teacher:,It is almost the same as Rain Forest Cafe, but with Dino's and like Build-A-Bear they have Build -A-Dino, My son has been there 4 times since it opened and we now have 4 Dino's he built:lmao: Out of all the places at WDW this is my son's favorite place to eat.

We did a quick breeze through DTD to check out all the Christmas Decos, going into the store with my son while he is awake = empty wallet:lmao:

We get back to Epcot around 7pm, of course it is TT and MS again, had to wait about 40min for TT, but MS still had a 5min wait on Green side:woohoo:

Started to head over to WS for Illuminations wanted to get a spot near the UK/France enterance for quick escape, on the way there we saw the Canada Storyteller this is one in my top 5 list, never saw a Santa wearing a flanel shirt:confused3

We saw the fireworks and escaped to the Boardwalk via boat, it was really cold so it was a quick visit, we then took the bus to MK and caught bus to our resort (MK had MVMCP going on till 12, when we did the switch there was hardly anyone waiting:woohoo:) got back around 11:30pm called it a night.

Next Day 4 Epcot/ AK

We missed the fireworks, I figured since the park was open till 1am they would still be around when we got off, wrong 3 went back to the Resorts for the night, I meet 2 Dads when I got off SM 2 Dads (Carl & Christopher were waiting for me) It was a good thing we were looking for each other, the drinks I had at WCC kinda threw me off alittle and told them the wrong side we were on:lmao: (Carl is also a WDW Commando Member)

Welcome Carl, I saved a front row seat for you:yay:

We were at the bus stop for Epcot around 7:30am and the wierdest thing happened, a Benz pulls up and a woman gets out of the pass side and walks up to us (I was thinking maybe she needed directions:confused3) We were the only people on line for the Epcot bus, she then gives us 2 FP's for anything, anytime for 5 guests, said enjoy and left:goodvibes. We didn't even leave the Resort yet and are already having a Awesome Day:goodvibes

We get to Epcot close to 8am and found out I messed up on the EMH, it opened at 9am:scared1:

At Rope Drop we headed to TT got FPs and got on (no line at all:cool1:) then we did MS green side (again:lmao:).

We had a 10am ressie for AAA storytime in Norway so we headed on over, There were around a dozen people at the 10am storytime and Mary Poppins was the storyteller, it was a Great meet & greet:goodvibes

Then we headed to Chinia and saw The Monkey King, this was another awesome Holiday Storyteller, my son really liked him:goodvibes

Other Storytellers we did that day were Japan - The Darma Saleswoman The US - Kwanza and of course the highlight Santa & Mrs Clause:goodvibes

We decieded we would use one of the anything FPs on Soarin' (had a 70min wait, so that was a no brainer) None of us have ever done it before, and we didn't think it was that great:confused3

We wanted to leave to go to AK by 3:30 and it was starting to get late so we used our TT FPs and hit MS before leaving for AK:woohoo: (as you can tell we did MS & TT alot on this trip:scared1::lmao:)

Day 4 to be cont. Going to EMH's at AK:yay:
