A character finder utility

It's neat, but a little distracting. I still love what you are doing though. Really great work! :thumbsup2

It is a fuzz distrating, I'll admit that.

Maybe a little colored ball next to their names instead?

I still need to enter basic info about the characters... and cross my fingers that more people will input their own sighting info. We have twenty or so entries right now, but until that number goes up (and we start getting them on a regular basis), this thing's usefulness will be limited.

I discovered what happened to your ginormous Jiminy Cricket photo, btw - looks like you used the bottom form for pictures of autographs, not the normal picture form. There's different login there, and so, it "forgot" to resize.

Looking into the issue now.

Yes, a colored ball or Mickey Head would be much easier on the eyes. ::yes::

Whoops! :flower3:

I was working on colored mickey heads already... great minds, etc?

...garish background colors changed to color-coded Mickey head icons. Better?

Some of the shades of colors are so subtle that it's sort of difficult to see exactly where the character falls in the color key. Is there a way to have the option of a floating color key chart that trails down the page with you?

Yes, yes - you are quite welcome. Looks much better, I freely admit.

I have text up for each of the basic categories now (Abundant, Common, Rare, etc...). Next step is to add strategy for finding each character.

Yep, THAT'S gonna take a while! :rolleyes1

Floating color chart?

Yeah, I can probably do that. I may also revise the color chart just a bit. The differences there were fine when it was full, ugly table cells - little Mickey heads makes it less apparent.

I started adding some of my pictures/info to the site.

I had another idea, instead of a floating color key, you could just outline the fainter colors with a darker boarder color. That should solve the problem.

I trying to fill in your blank characters... but you'll get a lot of me now too!

To those of you who are adding characters... wow, I really appreciate it! I am seriously enjoying looking at your photos and reports.

Thanks for all the contributions!

Every little bit helps! If we all chip in and take the 3 to 5 minutes of our time to just upload one photo, then you would have an awesome database in a flash. :woohoo:

I have revamped the Mickey head color scheme - you should be able to tell them apart a bit easier, now. About to make the color chart float, as well.

Next, I plan to put a question mark icon next to those characters with no entries whatsoever. You know, so you character hounds that want to help can know which gaps to fill! :thumbsup2
