~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

I generally lurk, but I had to share a Prime Time memory similar to yours. It is probably the best interaction we've had there, and over the years we've eaten there almost every trip.

My daughter, now 23, has always been consumed with what people think. Which is the bane of my existence because I don't give a hoot what anybody thinks. Anyway, many years ago at this point, we were eating at PTC. I'm assuming she was pre-teen, because she must have gotten chicken fingers or nuggets, and when the food arrived she asked for ranch dressing. Our "aunt", without skipping a beat, launched into a very motherly spiel - "Well go back there and get it yourself - you know where it is! What do you think this is, a restaurant?" :lmao: and walked Grace Ellen back to the kitchen to get her ranch dressing. We were DYING laughing. We are a family that kids constantly, so Gracie could see the humor but at the same time was horrified that she was called out.

Hahaha... I love this story! Thanks so much for sharing! What a great memory for all of you!

Sorry this bag is working you to death, but I'm glad you are enjoying the work. I really appreciate it!

We love 50's and Mama Melrose, but my mom is a bigger fan of Mama Melrose so we usually end up there, but I think I'm going to put my foot down on our next trip - whenever that may be. I am not a fan of PB&J sandwiches so I don't think I'd enjoy the malt but I am in love with the meatloaf, it's enough of an incentive for me.

I went to yoga last night - that's 4 times since we got back from Disney on Friday! Not doing so good with the eeating this week, with DH just starting his new job on Monday, we are still finding our new evening routine. This translates to me having eaten out 3 times this week - but hopefully we are moving in the right direction.

I am glad you like Gus and that you like Gus and Alli together. I am Facebook friends with my high school boyfriend's mom - we liked each other so much we've stayed in contact.

Hope you have a great day! Don't work too hard)

Nah - not working me to death... Just a lot of work. :thumbsup2 It's all good - it's coming together very nicely.

Hehehe... Yah - their meatloaf is OK - but it's hard to like anyone else's meatloaf, when Josh wraps his in bacon. ::yes:: LOL So, I go there for the chicken.

So glad to hear that you are sticking with the yoga. I sure hope you all are able to find a good routine soon, so it gets easier on all of you. Congrats to DH on the new job. How is yours going?

Yes, I do enjoy Alli and Gus together - they are so cute. It brings back so many memories for me too...

I stay in contact with my HS BF's family on FB too... I went out to lunch with his sister this last spring. I often tell everyone I know (including them), I wish I could have kept them as my in-laws. :scratchin

I hope you have a great day too!

I just wanted to say have a great weekend, D, as I don't know how much I'll get on here (kids are coming to town on Saturday and we have two weddings and shopping to do).

Thanks Kathy! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with the kids!

I hope you get a lot done in your sewing room today. Have a great day

Thanks Lillian - same to you! :flower3:

**********************************************************

I had a great day yesterday.

I did my heavy lifting - and I bumped up the weight on my weights... I am proud of myself for that - I've been procrastinating at doing it for weeks. I am feeling it a little bit this morning - so that's good.

Then I worked all morning... I finished the applique on this bag and I started the pre-assembly work.

I had to take a break and run to town for V's appt. Then I had to get a few things at Target...

I came home and I was able to finish the bag. :woohoo:

I made my meatloaf for dinner - it was good. Not as good as Josh's, but he hasn't fired up his smoker for several weeks. :confused3

On the topic of Josh... I believe he is on day 4 as a NON-SMOKER!!!!!! :woohoo: You have no idea how HAPPY this makes me!!!!! He has been on Chantix for well over a month, and it didn't seem to be doing much for him - I was so sad - then he realized he was supposed to bump up the dose after week 2 (which he never did) - so as soon as he did that, a week later he was able to start quitting. Lots and lots of prayers for him please!!! I've been dreaming of this day for years - and it would be just the best Christmas gift ever for me, if he was smoke free.

After dinner, Gus came over... He was supposed to come earlier, but it didn't work out. Him and Alli watched a Christmas movie with us.

Gus left when the movie was over, and we all went to bed.

Today... Not sure what is on my agenda?

I know I have to go to town at some point and have my nails done - I still have my Halloween theme on. :confused3

I also have to work out this morning.

I will be in my sewing room all day otherwise - working on the accessories to this order. I am not sure I will get all of them done today - I might have to do some of the machine embroidery work this weekend - which is OK - I like doing that on the weekends.

Tonight - it's hockey! :woohoo: Josh said he is taking me out on a date, then to the game. He told all of the kids (Gus included) that they couldn't come to the game tonight... Hehehe... So they have to find something else to do. It wouldn't surprise me if they drove to the game on their own. :rotfl2:

Oooooh... BIG NEWS AHEAD (with a long story)...

So, the day before yesterday, I was wearing a pair of jeans... They were tight - but not so bad that I had to lay down to button them or that I couldn't wear them in public. I was doing laundry yesterday, so I had to wear them again... Still a little tight and a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad. So, last night - I was in the ~ahem~ bathroom, and I looked down at the tag... I did a double take... The were a SIZE 8!!!!! OMG!!!! :woohoo: I've NEVER been a size 8 - like EVER. No wonder they didn't fit me, but holy cow - they fit me!!! These jeans have NO stretch, they are an older NWT Levis pair that were in the bag of clothes that BFF borrowed to me. Seriously - I came out of the bathroom squeeling - I couldn't believe it!!! I was soooo excited! Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe for a minute that I am solid size 8 yet... A size 10 maybe, but not an 8. I've been dreaming of single digit sizes my entire adult life - so this is just HUGE for me!!! HUGE! I had to share here - I know you all will share in my excitement! :cheer2: It is my personal goal to be a size 8 for spring/summer - so now I feel like that goal is a lot more realistic! It totally made my night!

Anyways... I hope you all have an amazing weekend! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

That is great news about the size 8 goal! What a great achievement. You earned it, though, with tons and tons of hard work and dedication. :goodvibes

My fingers are crossed that Josh is able to reach his goal, too. Maybe seeing your success has inspired him. :)

Congrats to josh for going 4 days smoke free! Also congrats to you for getting down to a size 8!
Not much going around here. We've all been sick with different things. My daughter's home today. Her husband and I both left work early yesterday but are better today.
I'm glad the bag is coming along, even though it's a lot of work.
We're still getting ready for Thanksgiving sales at work but I believe there's some sort of sale today but I having seen the ad.
We're having Thanksgiving on Sunday and then my daughter and her husband will have Thanksgiving at his sister's before they have to go to work on Thanksgiving.
Have a good weekend.
Liz

How exciting to fit into a size 8! I need to get back to that size myself. I feel like I'm getting on the right track though, yoga and eating out less often will hopefully get me to where I need to be.

Congrats on bumping up the weights too. I love that you are always progressing and pushing yourself. So inspirational.

I am so happy for you and Josh on the non-smoking front! How awesome! Is he a gum chewer or a mint person? I'd love to send a big supply of whatever he'd like in a little Christmas care package that will be heading your way. Let me know.

Both DH and I are doing well with the new jobs - his is a very drastic change from him, moving back into the private sector after 14 years working for the government. Luckily, he is a laid back, go with the flow kind of person so he'll get through this transition just fine. I am still loving my new job and enjoying the reasonable hours. And, next week, they are letting me bring Peyton in for the day since her school is closed the day before Thanksgiving and our office is not.

I would have loved to keep my high school boyfriend's family as my in-laws! What a great idea you had there! They are fabulous people - I love that Facebook keeps us in each other's lives.

So glad the bag is finished! Christmas is coming early for me!

Enjoy your date and the hockey game! I need to plan a date night for DHs birthday in a couple weeks. Tonight is our usual grocery shopping night, tomorrow the girls and I have a Thanksgiving party with some of their friends, Peyton has her first sleep over to a non-family member's house, and I'm hoping to make it to yoga. Sunday will be house cleaning and visiting with my parents. I don't think there's anyway I can make it to yoga on Sunday, but I'll probably try :goodvibes

Have a great day and a great weekend!

Congrats on the Size 8.

And keep it going Josh. My goal is to quit January 1. And I have a good reason to: Alisha told me she will NOT get pregnant until I quit smoking and she wants to get pregnant next year. :goodvibes

Woohoo a size 8!!! That is GREAT news. So excited for you.
Go Josh!! That is wonderful news.
I am feeling so much better. A little congestion but nothing terrible. It was nice to get out of house today.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thank you! I am very excited about it - however - yesterday I was back to wearing my size 12 jeans - which fit me just fine, so I am beginning to think the size 8s are a fluke. :confused3 Probably mis-tagged or something?

Me too... I hope - I will update below.

Look at you! Congrats!!! way to go! and to Josh! Great JOB!!!

Thanks! I think it's a mis-tag though, because most of my 12s fit... I have no clue. :confused3

I'll do an update on Josh below.

That is great that you can fit in a size 8

Thanks! I was pretty excited about it - but then I wore my size 12s yesterday with out a problem... So, those must be some huge size 8s. LOL

Congrats to josh for going 4 days smoke free! Also congrats to you for getting down to a size 8!

I'm doing an update on Josh below.

I sure hope you are all feeling better soon - it's an awful week to be sick!

I hope you have a good weekend too.

Yah - I am not sure the size 8s are real size 8s though? I am thinking it's a mis-tag, because my size 12s all still fit me... I don't understand it... :confused3

I am not progressing as quickly as I would like to on the weights, but I just figure that squatting and deadlifting with any amount of weight is better than no weight - so I just keep at it. Not looking to break any records, just want a leaner body with muscle definition and a nice shape. :thumbsup2

I am doing an update on Josh's smoking below. He isn't really a gum chewer... He likes those weird disposible tooth brushes that are mint flavored. :confused3 I think Colgate makes them?

That is awesome that your new job is letting you bring Peyton - how cool is that? What a relief! It's so nice when employers can be flexible when situations warrant, that's a sign of a good family oriented company. :thumbsup2

Thanks - we had a nice date night... Had to wait an hour for a table, which made our meal a mad rush to get out to make it to the game on time. But it was fun to hang out together.

I hope you have a great weekend too!

Congrats on the Size 8.

And keep it going Josh. My goal is to quit January 1. And I have a good reason to: Alisha told me she will NOT get pregnant until I quit smoking and she wants to get pregnant next year.

Thanks! Aha! I LOVE it!!!! What great incentive! I am very excited for you! :cheer2:

I am thinking of you this weekend Kathy - many prayers and love going out to you!

Thanks! I kind of think it's a mis-label, since all of my 12s still fit me the same. Oh well, I'll just keep pressing on.

I am doing an update on Josh below.

Gald you are feeling better - I hope it continues. :flower3: I hope you have a great weekend too!

**********************************************************

I had a great day yesterday...

As soon as the girls were off to school - I worked out, and I was in my sewing room by 7:30am. :woohoo:

I was able to get the accessories finished, but I still have the zipper pull to do today - then I will be done with this order.

After - I got ready and ran to town... I had to get my Halloween nails taken off. My nail guy did a really cool thing this time... The tips of my nails are black and then they get lighter and lighter to a light purple... I really wasn't liking it at all, until he put the sparkles on - then I loved it. I am not sure I will be doing it again anytime soon, not that I don't like it, but I am more of a "tip color" girl and not the whole nail. But it's definitely unique and fun - which is what I like. :thumbsup2 I'll try to remember to take a picture today, so you all can see.

Then I ran to Target - got a couple of items.

Came home.

Alli and Gus were right behind me.

We watched some You Tube videos on our TV (didn't know we could do that)... And I tried to nap.

Josh came home and we left right away for our date night.

He took me to Outback Steakhouse - one of my favorites. Sadly, it was an hour wait for our table - so that meant that we were now on a time crunch to make it to the game on time. :scared: My steak was leather - but I ate it anyways, because I didn't have time for them to make me a new one. Otherwise it was a good meal.

The game was fun. I love this arena... It's just as far for us to drive - but the bleachers have backs and that is such a bonus! :thumbsup2 Sadly, Matt's team lost... They were ahead the whole game and in the last period the other team scored 4 goals! :faint:

Meanwhile... Victoria babysat.

Allison and Gus went out for dinner at Green Mill... Sounds like they had a nice time, they met up with Gus' sister and her fiance & had dinner together. :thumbsup2

We all ended up home at the same time... We went to bed and all of the kids stayed up and watched movies.

Today... I have to work for a few hours this morning.

Gus is coming over and taking the girls out for lunch.

I am taking Victoria out later for some Christmas shopping.

Allison is babysitting for her English teacher tonight.

That's about all... Just a boring day with all of us going different directions.

Oh... Josh's smoking update... I was wrong yesterday. :( It's been 4 days since he has smoked at home. He is still smoking at work. So, so, so, so sad... I was so hopeful. Please continue to pray that he will be able to quit. :grouphug:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Prayers and good thoughts to out to all of yoU! :grouphug:

Sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

Here the weather is not normal. I would call it crazy. It's been 41ºF here the last few days and all the snow is gone. Normally the temperature is around 29ºF this time of year and exactly one year ago we had almost 15 inch. of snow.

I love the most recent update. I love BFF CM meeting you in the parks and treating your girls to extra fp+. I love the review of 50s PT- I definitely plan to try this on our next trip though I'm nervous how they would react to DS- he will eat his veggies, but the behavior......not up to par lol. I need a trip on the calendar! No particular reason there is no trip other than life planning/what if stuff. Sometimes I wish we could peek at a crystal ball! Considered a 3 day Christmas weekend with DH only but I just can't justify the cost for such a short trip and I hate to be away from the kids this time of year especially.

I haven't been on the dis in a long time. When I don't have a trip planned it is hard to be on here. We had a horrible experience at 50's a few years ago. Our server never did anything but bring us our food and check. We have been considering going back on our next trip and reading about your experience has made us decide to go. Enjoying your trip report and daily updates.

Thanks Lillian, we did.

I know, our weather is a little odd too... It was 50° yesterday, so all of our snow is gone and our yard is a muddy mess. I even wore flip flops out to shop - not that I mind that. LOL :rotfl:

It was wonderful that Santos met up with us, it was a nice surprise that none of us were expecting.

I don't think they are mean about anything at 50s, they just like to poke fun.

I know how you feel, I would love to have a trip on the calendar too... It's still going to be a while for me.

Welcome! We had a similar experience a few years back, and it kept us away from the 50s... Sadly, that only lasted one trip - LOL - we couldn't stay away completely (had to have our PB*J malts), and we just love to eat there. I am glad you are going back, hopefully you will have a better experience this time. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

We had a nice weekend. I am sad to say, I don't even remember what we all did. LOL

I worked in my sewing room a bit on Saturday. Sadly, I didn't finish everything I needed to, so I will have to do a bit of work tonight after Target, and possibly a bit more in the morning. Nothing major, it will just depend on how much time I have after dinner tonight.

Victoria had a friend over on Saturday night and Josh took them to Matt's hockey game... Matt's team won. I am beginning to wonder if I am a bad omen? :rolleyes1

Allison babysat for her English/yearbook teacher on Saturday night, she really enjoyed that.

Yesterday, Victoria and her friend went to church in the morning.

Allison and I went grocery shopping. It looks like we will be having a small Thanksgiving dinner here this year. We are all a little bummed about that - we were looking forward to a big Thanksgiving with Josh's family, but as it turns out, they have changed their minds. :confused3 We are considering inviting them here, but our house is really small, and I am not sure we could host that many people. So we will see.

I was super excited to pick up a few sweaters from Target yesterday... I've been having such issues with clothes lately - nothing fits, and if I want to look a little nicer, I just have nothing to wear. Target has all of their sweaters 40% off this week (plus my team member discount and my target debit card 5% - it makes them a very nice deal - if only there was a cartwheel too)... So I picked up 3 new ones yesterday. :woohoo: I am going in to work a little bit early this morning, I was thinkiing yesterday after I got home, I would really like to have a red cardigan too - so I am going to see if I can find one of those... It would be really cute with my scarf from a couple of years ago, jeans and a white tee for Christmas. :thumbsup2

Gus came over after church yesterday and hung out here the remainder of the day... They watched movies and played Mario-kart.

I made lasagna for dinner... I don't make lasagna that often anymore - even though we all love it, it requires me to make 3 separate pans. One regular, one vegetarian and one with out noodles... It's not that hard, because I mix n' match all of the sauces, but it's just a lot of dishes. The lasagnas turned out good though.

Afterwards, we all watched Christmas with the Kranks - one of our favorites... It's a little bit early to be watching our true favorite Christmas movies, but I was really in the mood to watch that one.

Today, I work at Target... I have to pick both girls up from school after. I also have to stop at the grocery store to get all of the produce I didn't get at Target yesterday, and a turkey too.

This week is 30DS for working out... So, I'll be alternating that with me weight lifting this week. Ooooh, on that note, I was so excited last night... Allison and Gus were arm wrestling at the table after dinner, and Allison was talking about how awesome my "guns" are (for those of you who don't know, guns are biceps)... Hehehe... So, I showed Gus and he was impressed. :woohoo: Then I offered to arm wrestle him... and I *almost* won... It was very close and I put up a good fight. LOL But it made me happy... 1. My arm muscles were impressive enough for a topic of conversation (LOL). 2. I was strong enough to put up a good fight. :woohoo: I need to bump up my weights more, so I can actually win. popcorn::

So, that's all for today! I hope you all have a nice week! If any of you are traveling, please travel safely. Prayers and Pixe Dust to all! :grouphug:

D~

That's too bad that your Thanksgiving tradition has changed this year. Hopefully you can enjoy your new event. :) We are having a small Thanksgiving, too, just six people. One of my sisters and DH's sister and husband have decided to make other plans this year. :( But who knows, my 8 year old grandson told me that he wants to come to our house this year instead of the other grandma's house. I must admit that it felt good to have him say that even though I don't think it will happen.

We found out last week that we have a cracked sewer pipe - the one that drains the kitchen, laundry room and second bathroom. Now I am hoping that those plumbers come back today to finish the repairs. Why do things tend to break right when it is most inconvenient? :confused3

Hey, howdy, hey!
Lets see if I can remember everything!

First your dad is to cute as always and would make a great Santa! Looks like you had a great visit.

Santos looks like alot of fun, I may have to become a stalker and see if I can find him.

50's Prime Time is probably our favorite restaurant, though the experience does depend on the server. Wedge salad and a basket of onion rings sounds good.

Gus is a huge help, he seems like a good kid.

I understand the frustration with Josh and the smoking, just support him! Gerald smoked for 28 or so years and tried several times to stop and finally quit cold turkey 3 years ago after having eye surgery twice. He had fun figuring out what he was going to spend the "extra" money on.

Woman size 8, size 8!!!!! That is fantastic!

Sorry that we all got overly excited about Josh quitting smoking. At least if he's not smoking at home anymore, he is at least cutting back, which is a step in the right direction. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the hard work you are putting into my bag! I appreciate it! DH and I aren't exchanging gifts this year, so this will be like my Christmas!

We had a quiet but busy weekend. The girls had a Thanksgiving party with their friends, then Peyton had a sleepover to go to, we picked her up yesterday morning and headed over to my parents house. My dad leaves for his next work trip before Christmas so we are trying to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves. I didn't make it yoga all weekend but I'll be going tonight and Wednesday and some combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I have a ton of work stuff to get done in the next couple of days so I am going to run and try to get some progress made.

Hope you have a great Target day!

Loved the trip update. It looks like Santos is so much fun! :cool1: A great experience at 50's??? :yay: So glad! You and I were in the same boat on that March 2012 trip with 50's. :sad2: So, we know the key is to make them think you have not a clue.. :rolleyes1

Too bad Josh family changed their minds about Thanksgiving. I hope you'll have a good time even if your not that many people gathered this Thanksgiving.

Sounds like you had a fun night yesterday arm wrestling with Gus.
