Wow, I am just blown away with how much I loved this resort. We stayed there for 3 nights last week and it was a wonderful experience. The minute we pulled up we were treated like royalty. The condo was beautiful, just immaculate. We were given a choice between 2 units, and we chose the one in a brand-new tower.

We are not timeshare owners and they knew it, but the only times we were "approached" for a presentation were by sliding a paper under our door, and one message on our voice mail. Completely unintrusive.

The oft-heard complaint of the walls being thin was only noticeable during the "Dive-In Movie" they showed on our first night. I just turned on the fan in the bathroom and pulled the door shut almost all the way and the white noise drowned out any movie noise, no problem at all.

The shuttle was on-time and seemed like a great way to travel to the parks. We chose to drive our rental car only b/c we wanted the freedom to leave when we wanted, but I did see the shuttle several times and I would definitely use it in the future.

There is a huge common room with free internet, TV, video games, a pool table and a big arcade across the hall. The pool isn't themed, but it's big and very nice. The lake is huge with a big fountain in it, and we could see but didn't hear any of the construction of the new buildings going on.

The people who worked there were professional, courteous, and definitely went out of their way to make us feel important. There is a cute red tram that takes you to your room if you're staying in any of the out-buildings.

I just can't say enough. I can't wait to ask my friend to use her timeshare again! Please feel free to PM me with any questions about Bonnet Creek. We absolutely loved our experience there.

Sounds great! :goodvibes And welcome back!

What building, floor and room number did you have?
What unit size?
What was your view?
Did you eat from the Grill or the Pizza spot? How was it?

Thanks for sharing! :)

Sorry, I wasn't very descriptive. ;)

We stayed in room 467, the building was called Terra de Cielo. We had a lake view. If I could do it again, I would opt for a parking lot view higher up so we could watch Illuminations from our room.

We did not eat at either of the places you mentioned, but I saw the menus and they both looked wonderful. They were really crowded while we were there, but we were barely at the resort so we didn't really get a chance to take advantage of any amenities.

HTH!

Thank you for the wonderful review!:goodvibes
We arrive at Bonnet Creek 3 weeks from now for a 7 night stay in a 3 bedroom unit.
I can't wait!!!:woohoo:

:) I agree it is a beautiful resort though we had two messages on our answering maching and on two different occasions we had two notes on the table in the living room which blew me away as we didn't have any housekeeping during our stay and didn't think they were allowed to go in and drop stuff off like that. I thought that was odd and didn't appreciate it.

We were in suite 719, building 1, facing the parking lot and saw the Mickey Ears at MGM, Tower of Terror, we could see the light effects of Fantasmic and too the right of the balcony (HUGE!) we saw Illuminations in parts.

Loved the resort and I too would ask our friend to rent his points again, this time though we would have a rental car for the freedom of coming and going when we please to. Didn't hear anything from surrounding rooms and didn't notice walls being thin.

Now I only wish it was time to go back to the World again, no trip planned so far :rolleyes1

We stayed at Bonnet Creek from 10/20 - 10/27 and although we had a few issues, we'd definitely stay there again. The facilities are excellent and the furnishings in the new building are beautiful. We were in building 4 (newest) on the 15th floor (highest in our building) facing the pool. We could see Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror from our balcony, and went across the hallway to see Illuninations and Wishes out the window. We had pizza delivered one night from their restaurant. It was reasonably priced and tasted good. They do seem to have the pool music/entertainment a bit loud - you could hear it clear as a bell from the balcony, and it even flowed through the air vent in the bathroom! All in all we enjoyed the spaciousness and the comfort of the room and would definitely consider it for a future stay.

How do you make a reservation here? Did you all rent points from an owner and if so, how and where did you find the owner? Thanks!

You can sometimes find inventory on expedia, but it's hideously expensive.

You do best renting from an owner: ebay, tug, or redweek are all good sources.

We "rented" from a friend of mine, meaning that she gave it to us and we gave her some money to cover a few costs.

I would love to know the best ways to rent a timeshare in the future, though. :)

I was wondering whether or not we should rent a car. We have reservations over the New Year. Is this in walking distance to anything? I can't find anything about this resort in the Unofficial Guide to Walt DIsney WOrld. Thanks in advance. :)

Hmm, I'll have to dig and see if I saved the shuttle schedule. It wasn't great. We chose to use our rental car the days we were there so we weren't bound to the shuttle schedule.

It's a fairly good hike to most everything around here on foot. The closest things to Bonnet Creek (and the road into the resort from the main road is pretty long in itself) are Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon, and CBR. I wouldn't walk them, personally.

I'm not sure how you are planning to get to Bonnet Creek from the airport, but our rental car was so inexpensive that it would have cost more to use a cab or shuttle from the airport. There was no reason not to get a car.

HTH!

You cannot walk to anything, unless you are willing to bushwhack it and possibly cut some chain link fencing along the way. ;)

If I were staying at BC, I would rent a car without thinking twice. After all, you're saving so much on the lodging that even adding the car expense, you are still way ahead of the game.

You'll definitely want a car. It's much more convenient. And unless they changed things, the Bonnet Creek shuttle isn't free.

If you do drive, and unless your sense of direction is better than mine (which is entirely possible) expect to get turned around few times coming back from the parks before you finally figure out how to get back to Bonnet Creek. The problem is that Disney doesn't label many of it's streets, so it's hard to tell what road you're even on. I finally just started following the signs that took me toward Downtown Disney, because I knew that would get me close. By the 4th day I finally had it down.
