I think a child should be allowed to shave their legs if they're old enough to be embarrassed. That's JMO.

You know, I saw this post and my response immediately came to mind ...

Thank God for Mothers and Wives

Because if MY daughter would have asked me that, I'd have said "Go ask your mom, kiddo."

And at the top of one of these pages, I saw the word "menstruate" and figured maybe it was time for me to start posting on a car repair board somewhere!



Seriously though, I gotta tip my hat to all of you for handling these kinds of questions. Waaaaaaay too much for me.

Well, I went to Target last night, bought a couple of cans of women's shaving cream and a Venus razor. Then, I packaged it all up in a gift bag with a note that said "I checked my parenting resources on the disboards and I was wrong. You can start to shave your legs."
This turned into something great because she loves when big deals are made of everyday situations. She loves to receive notes and special cards. It's something I don't often take the opportunity to do because I'm in a zone just trying to make life work with the house, husband, kids, full-time job, soccer, hockey, homework, travelling (you get the picture).
This was such a great opportunity for us to do something personal.
After she opened the card and bag, she immediately went to take a bath where I showed up to teach her how to shave her legs.

My daughter said that she may think of some more questions for me to post here.....ut oh!
