Next cruise we are in a 9b on deck 2. Any experiences being that low on the ship? We have always had a verandah so next trip will be a little different.

If you're asking about the classic ships, we've always been on deck 2, mostly in 9Bs, couple of times in a 9C.

That's our deck of preference. One deck down to tender lobby, and one or 2 decks up to the MDRs. A big plus is boarding the elevators that low on the ship seems a bit easier.

We have done 9B on all our Disney cruises: Wonder, Magic and Dream. We love deck 2!

9B deck 2 is our home on the past 2 cruises and our upcoming 3rd. We love it! Getting back on after an excursion is a breeze while everyone else is waiting for the elevators we just go up one flight of stairs!

I think it depends on the location of your cabin. We were deck 2 forward, and on really bad rocky sea days (10 ft swells said the Captain) it was unpleasant to be in the room. It was bad enough where I'd be seasick in the room, but not in the lobby or elsewhere. So choose as midship as you can get if you are sensitive to that. Other than the swaying, we loved the convenience of deck 2.

We are midship 2556 on the Fantasy so hopefully won't be rocky.
How about engine noise?

On our last cruise (May 10) we were in room 2012 forward and on our last night I had to leave the room and sit in front of guest services mid ship it was so rough!

We love deck 2 and have sailed on all 4 ships in a 9b midship. We just got off the Fantasy in 2554 and it was perfect sailing. Have fun!

been in cat 9b - deck 2 mid ship on the Magic, Wonder and Dream. Love it on all 3 (or four ships) for different reasons.

Classic Ships - Love the huge porthole and seeing the water close by.

Dream Class - didn't love the porthole "shape" - we were looking out a "funnel" - but LOVED being able to stagger out of our room in the mornings and into Enchanted Garden for breakfast!

We have sailed in inside, ocean view and veranda staterooms. We much prefer deck two of all rooms we've had. We like forward as it's a blast if the swells are high. We now only book deck 2.

Hello we have no experience in cruising and have booked room 2010 for the Fantasy next Sept, I'm getting really nervous reading this post regarding getting seasick due to movement! I may try to change the room will check what room is still available

One of the reasons I asked. Lower and midship should have less movement.
We chose a 9B because of economics.
Have always stayed on deck 6/7. So will get our exercise going up to sun ourselves for sure!

Climbing up 7 or 9 decks is a good workout. Even on the 14 night PC cruise I would still be huffing and puffing when I got up to the pool deck (I think I was able to climb the stairs faster later on). The great thing about all those stairs is more desserts at dinner.

Chant with me as we climb the stairs: "Eat More Dessert! Eat More Dessert!! ...)

Wow, that is terrible. I found that earplugs really helped by putting pressure inside my ears. I didn't feel the air "swoosh" as badly and it also blocked out the creaking of the room when the seas were rough when sleeping.

My experience is that deck 2 has less movement than the higher decks. I really like deck 2.

we were in 9B deck 2 stateroom for both of our cruises on the magic (midship 2040) and dream (fwd 2006) and loved the location for all the reasons stated above. we did not experience rough seas nor motion issues and would definitely consider booking on deck 2 again.

I did 9B 2038 (midship) on the Fantasy, and really loved it. Did not hear any noises, was much smoother than on the higher decks, really convenient to roll out of bed and run to Enchanted Gardens for breakfast before getting ready for the day. Very convenient for disembarkation/embarkation. They did an AMAZING job of sound-proofing the hallways. I was right next to the entrance to the lobby area for the Enchanted Gardens, and just around the corner from the Atrium, and couldn't hear a thing from any of those places. I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely choose to sail there again!

Sayhello
