We are heading out in 3 weeks, we are driving from the east coast of Canada (28 hr drive) , my Dh, myself and mny 3 boys ages 12 and 9 yr old twins!

They have only been on very little rides like Goofy's Barnstormer so do you think they could handle some of the thrill rides, they are tall enough and they are very brave and daring so..... We will definitely leave up to them, no pressure from me since I am the "chicken" of the house!!!

My 9yo DD enjoys both of those rides. RNR was a little intimidating for her, but she still liked it.

I would suggest you do BTMRR first and see how they like that, and Space Mountain too.

DD at 8 has been doing ToT and RnR since she was 6. She loves both rides. If your boys are daring it should be no problen for them.

Yes, I would test them out first at Space Mountain and Thunder RR first.

RnR is my DD's favorite ride! She is 9 now, but started riding it as soon as she was tall enough!

My 8 year old ds loves this ride! I am the chicken :rolleyes1 Last trip he rode RnRc & TOT by himself, our 11 year old ds did not feel like riding them this time. I felt bad letting him go by himself, but he loved it! I did walk with him through the TOT, but then took the chicken exit :rotfl:

Both my kids rode everything as soon as they could meet the height requirement; that's just who they are. Little thrill seekers, just like Mom. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

RnR was the FIRST rollercoaster my 9 yo DS ever rode and he loved it (thank goodness). He passed on ToT however. Maybe next time... If they''re willing they should be fine. Have fun!

My older two (10 and 8) live for those two rides alone! I personally bought my pic on each the ime I rode so that I could prove I did...never, ever again!

I have 9 year old twins myself (as of 8/4, lol) and both of them love RNR!! This was actually my son's first coaster ride ever. All I kept hearing was wooohoooooo :teeth:

My nephews have been riding both since thy were 7. Their mother is a big time ride chicken, and both kids were extremely nervous while standing in line for the first time. This was due to the fact that their mom, my SIL, worried them nonstop about how scary and wild the rides were, without actually ever riding it herslf. Well, it took a little prodding from their favorite uncle, yours truly, but I got them on and after RNRC, they ran over to ToT to get on!!! They loved them both. Be careful that you don't transfer your fear of
safe, fun thrill rides onto your kids. I'm glad you're giving them the choice! ::MickeyMo

We just got back, DD's friend who is 9 was afraid of TOT..we went on without her, and convinced her she would be fine..so she went on..and LOVED it..also RnR she was fine..I think it would also depend on the child and how they are..

DD7 would have ridden RnRC 1000 times if it were possible. We're going back this October and that is all she talks about. She liked ToT but dark and spooky aren't her favorite things. But she did love the drop part and wants to do it again. :jumping1:

My DS was 8 when we went to WDW in January. He LOVED BTMRR and Space Mountain. He was not, however, very happy with ToT. He wanted to ride it but he didn't like it and he isn't sure he wants to do it again in October. I didn't LOVE it but I would do it again. It was kind of fun.

None of us rode RnRC because other posters said it tends to whip little ones heads around. DS is tall enough to ride but he is small for his age and we just decided to skip it. He has never been on anything that goes upside down. I imagine we will try it in October, even if we make DH go first! ;)

My kids, now 9 & 11, have been riding ToT and RnR since they were tall enough. They both love it but then we are a family a coaster lovers!

I would suggest that you start them off on Big Thunder Mountain. There's no drops or upsidedown moves so it's a good gauge on how they might do on the others.

Have fun!
