9 Days Poly CL DxDP...Too Much Food???...Too Much Fun!!!...1600 Pictures

I like all your pics. :goodvibes

Regarding Pool Hopping - SAB at Y&B Club is off limits to DVC pool hopping because they have 3 resorts sharing the pool. When we were first DVC members, it was allowed there.

My issue with the lounge chairs at any resort is families who have 3-4 kids and take a chair for each one of them when the kids are NEVER in them minus a few seconds here and there and simply use it for a towel holder.

I get if the place is empty, then please use all the chairs you want but when you have resort guests trying to find a chair and traipsing all over the place, maybe be courteous and give up a few not needed.

People can drive me bonkers at times.:headache:

Anyway - it is awesome your family enjoys traveling together! :thumbsup2

I'm LOVING your review and pictures!!! :worship: :surfweb:

We'll be in "Hawaii" 4 weeks from tomorrow! We've stayed there several times before, and always on the 3rd floor, but my DH just had a heart attack 2 weeks ago, AND I'll in an ECV, and after hearing that you LOVED the first floor, I'm going to request that! Actually, after hearing about my DH's heart attack my travel agent said she was going to request first floor for us. Can't wait to experience lagoon view from the first floor. :sunny:

I do have a question for you! I see that you're a party of 7; when they took you to the Hawaii building to check in, did they use 2 golf carts, or was it a larger golf cart that could seat all 7 of you? We'll be a party of 5 for the first time (DS19's GF will be with us), and I don't think we'd all fit on the regular golf carts that we've been on in the past. Thanks!

Thanks for the info!!! I didn't realize DVC owners could pool hop:confused3 That's why I love the Disboards....always learning new information about WDW. What pools can DVC owners not go to??? I wonder why some pools are exempt? Interesting...

Along the same lines, some of your fellow Polynesian visitors could be using the pool upon arrival and before room assignment. Also, those who had to check out at 11:00 a.m., but had late flights, might be utilizing the facilities to change and use the pool before departure. That said, the Polynesian is a known break for those in the MK who are staying off property. I agree with you wholeheartedly, it shouldn't happen.

Great trip report! We are planning our trip next summer, staying at the Poly for the first time, so I am really enjoying your report:yay:

I really, really loved 1st floor! Sounds crazy, but when we opened the door and all sat outside....some patio, some grass....it made the room feel bigger. We had connecting rooms and would bring all chairs over to one patio to watch Wishes. It was really cool for the entire family to sit together and share in the moment. The only downside, as you saw, was the ducks...but that's so minor in the big scheme of things. In regards to the golf cart question....the golf cart only held 4 people plus tons of luggage. They offered to get another cart for the rest of my party, but DH and my mom pushed the strollers to the Hawaii Longhouse. The CMs offered another cart, but DH was long gone and already through the GCH in a blink of an eye (he was super excited to say the least).

I know y'all are so very excited about your upcoming trip!!! Wish I were back!!!!!!!! FYI...we had room 1506 & 1507....very, very clean and in great condition...also, not very far down the hall...close to lounge...another plus

Thanks for all of the nice complements!!! I'm going to try and get my full review on BBB done today. That experience is a must do for any little girl who loves the Princess World!!!

Thanks for the info! :sunny: We'll have to see what they offer us, in regards to the golf cart ride to Hawaii. Not a big deal if a couple of us walk there. :)

Another GREAT reason to stay at the Poly...jump on the monorail and you are at MK in 5 minutes!!!! Wonderful for early morning appointments::thumbsup2....

If you have a little girl who loves princesses, then BBB is a must do for you!!! DH was not too thrilled with the amount of $$ we were getting ready to spend. He certainly wanted his little girl to have the experience, but he honestly thought the price was a bit high.

I decided that I would get the earliest appt available. The IPOs were able to get me an 8am!!!! The reason I wanted an early appt was for 2 reasons....
1. I wanted to see the castle and main street when NOBODY was around
2. I wanted to be done by Rope Drop and be IN the park and ready to go....plus DS3, DS8 & grandpa were doing the Pirates League at 9:30am

When you arrive at MK, you will have to walk all the way to the right where it says Character Breakfast entrace. We arrived at 7:40am, but had to wait until 7:55am for them to let us through.

Love Main Street when no one is around! And being the ONLY one in front of the Castle was special.

The park seemed so peaceful and serine....me being the Disney sap that I am, I just stood looking at the carousel taking in the Magic.

When we arrived at BBB, we immediately were greeted and welcomed in. She was really in awe with the castle.

They sent DD to the "wardrobe" and told her to pick out her favorite princess gown and shoes....she chose Snow White....luckily, she already knew what she wanted, so this did not take too long.

The CM told DD to wait for just a moment while they prepared her gown...after few moments, they took her back to a dressing room.

When we all arrived at the dressing room, the curtain was pulled. The CM had a magic wand and she said, "Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boo" and swished the curtain back....there was the gown hanging and shoes, wand and head band laid out for DD.

Because DD is only 4 1/2, she truly believed that we were in Cinderella's Castle and this REALLY was "Fairy Godmother's In Training" that were doing makeovers....so cute!

They put her in a chair and introduced DD's "Fairy Godmother In Training" to us....she was so wonderful and really played up the part.
DSC_1423.jpg

They gave DD a shield, which they called the magic mirror, to hold over here face while they sprayed hairspray....DD was soooooo serious about this. Again, she thought the entire experience was 'for real'.

The entire boutique was perfectly made for little girls....like a fairy tale setting.

Karlita applied DDs makeup ever so gently....they even let the little girls choose the colors they want;)

After we finished at BBB, it was time for the photo shoot!!! WOW! They really treated the little girls like they were princesses!

If you are skeptical about spending money on BBB, I can assure you that it was worth every penny!! DH had tears in his eyes when his little girl was finished....this is one day that I wouldn't change for the world....now we are on our way to the Pirates League for DSs......stay tuned!

That update made me weepy:guilty: She looks absolutely beautiful....I wish they had BBB when my daughter was little...:confused3

Great update!

That post made me cry, too. :lovestruc

Just the other day I said to myself "I don't think I would ever do BBB." But I loved your description of it, and the photos of your daughter. I have never read such a great description of the whole process. It does sound more "magical" then simply a hair appt (which is how I imagined it).

I didn't realize that the CM's were "fairy godmother's in training." Love that!

I also loved that your DH had tears in his eyes. I'll bet that he will never forget that day, and how special it was to his little girl.

Your little girl looks so pretty in her dress all made up like a princess! :goodvibes It's so cute that she really believed that the whole experience was for real. :)

WONDERFUL!princess: Why didn't they have this when I was little?!?! Maybe someday I will have a daughter...Did you say you did Pirate's League with the boys? pirate: Edited: OH! Yep, you said that right at the end of the post! Can't wait to hear about what that is like!

I was literally just looking online and asking my DD what costume she wnated to wear at Disney... I wanted to do BBB but thought I could save some money by buying the costume online... however you have just sold me on getting the whole package!!

she is such a beautiful princess!!!

I cant wait till my daughter experiences this!!

(when making an appt. does this also follow the 180 day rule also?)

eta: approximately how long were you there for?

Your BBB review brought back such special memories of when I took our little princess the first year it opened. It really is such a special time for the girls. I have so enjoyed reading your reviews. We are staying at the Poly for the first time this July and your descriptions are getting me even more excited. Can't wait for more!

I'm very glad we did the "whole" experience. DD thought it was great when they sent her to the wardrobe to pick out her princess dress and shoes....totally worth the price. We arrived at 8am, and we were taken right in....nice getting there first! I believe we were done around 8:45 and then went over for pictures. When the photo shoot was done, the park was already open. The photo package that came with our package was 3 different shoots...8x10 and 4 3x4s. I want to say BBB follows the 180 day rule....not completley sure...the IPO did all my ressies. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I remember them booking something for me 90 days out, but don't remember exactly what it was.

Y'all will have a great experience at BBB! I feel certain that your daughter will love it, too.

Was there a reason your daughter chose Snow White? I practically clapped with glee when I read she chose SW. I think Cinderella and Aurora are the more popular dresses. I LOVE Snow White and I LOVE her dress.

Now....if they only made them in my size...... :scratchin
(of course, don't look at my pic. I'm dressed as Aurora's Queen Mother for a Halloween WDW trip:rolleyes1)
