9 Days Poly CL DxDP...Too Much Food???...Too Much Fun!!!...1600 Pictures

My parents brought DS8 and DS3 over to MK around 8:45....they had to enter through the Character Breakfast line. Even though their appointments were not until 9:15, they allowed them to come in. They wanted to see DD4 dressed in her princess attire before their makeover.

On their way to the castle to see DD.

Waiting on his sister to come out of BBB..........................here she is!

Finally, we made it to the ..........
DSC_1449.jpg

Once again, DH was a bit skeptical about this entire process....neither of us was sure about what to expect. I was a bit worried about DS3 being able to sit still for any given length of time.

When we walked in, it was just like a Pirate's hide away!!! Disney does it right AGAIN......

DSC_1475.jpg

They led them back to a dressing room (just like BBB) and there hanging in the room was their costumes.....so adorable!!!!!

These are the boys BEFORE their pirate transformation.

DSC_1450.jpg

ALL the CMs were dressed in pirate costume and played the part so perfectly! Each child was given the opportunity to choose his costume....DS8 was Jack Sparrow and DS3 was Captain Hook.

DSC_1451.jpg

After they changed into the costumes, they were taken to another location to be given their new Pirate Names!!!

DSC_1454.jpg

Do you notice the adult turning the treasure chest getting his new pirate name??? This would be grandpa!!!

DSC_1456.jpg

Grandpa even grew a beard for the experience....he said he wanted to be a pirate with his grandsons! The boys loved this!!!!!....and so did I.

After all 3 "boys" were given their new names, they were taken to a chair to be transformed....all the while, CMs were talking in "Pirate Lingo" and really playing up the part! They even played it up when they saw DD in her princess costume! They told her to be careful or they would steal all her jewels and take her hostage. I quickly told her they were kidding....once again, she thought it was 'real'.
DSC_1463.jpg

After they were transformed, the CMs made them take an oath of a pirate! DS3 was soooooo into this! He was super serious and did everything the CMs said to do......no worries here about him sitting still!!! Do you see him in the background with his hand up?....DS3 thought it was "real", too.

DSC_1479.jpg

Even grandpa had to take an oath! DSs loved this!!
DSC02168.jpg

Believe it or not....there is still more....after the oath, we were taken to yet another spot in the Pirates League. A CM told us that we were getting ready to enter a secret room and that it was totally off limits to everybody, but they would let us in as long as we didn't take pictures. Basically, the boys were going in for their photo shoot. They were given pirate medallions, like treasure coins, to go around their necks before we entered. (no pix of this room!....top secret;))

Once we were in the 'secret' room, they took pictures of our new pirates...again...playing up their pirate roles!!! The CMs were outstanding!!! On our way out, we stopped at the front for their Pirate Certificates (signed by Captain Jack Sparrow;)) with their new pirate names written on the certificates and to pick up the pictures that were made in the secret room.

And our newest pirates are.....from left to right......Christopher Yellowbellows, Princess Snow White, Will Treasurehound, & Eric Sunbain!
DSC02172.jpg

If you will notice, the costumes look really hot...especially for May. I want everyone to know that these new pirates REFUSED to take the costumes off! They wore them ALL day and into the night....even to the Brown Derby & Fantasmic!

After it was all done....guess which ride we HAD to ride first???....you guessed it.....Pirates of the Carribean!

DSC_1494.jpg

One of the Pirate CMs stopped my son to.......
DSC_1493.jpg

DS thought this Pirate guy was super cool...he just added to the whole experience of being a pirate.

On our way to the ride, we stopped to meet Goofy who was also dressed in pirate costume.
DSC02173.jpg

The entire experience from the time we walked in until the time we left, lasted around 45mins to an hour (can't really remember:confused3) Once again, this experience is one that my family will NEVER forget!!!! It was worth every dime that was spent!!!! I highly recommend the Pirates League for boys and girls. I have a feeling that we will be returning to the Pirates League in the future!!! Arrrrrr, matey!pirate:

Next up....3 Pirates and a Princess dine at CRT....stay tuned

Was there a reason your daughter chose Snow White? I practically clapped with glee when I read she chose SW. I think Cinderella and Aurora are the more popular dresses. I LOVE Snow White and I LOVE her dress.

She always says that her hair is dark like Snow White's hair....perhaps this is why:confused3 And when she said she wanted to be Snow White at BBB, we kept telling her what a wonderful idea it was. We were hoping that her choice of princess would stick....either Snow White or Belle. I was afraid that when we entered BBB, she would change her mind....but she didn't. When I was young and going to WDW, this wasn't around:sad1: or my sister and I would have taken full advantage. I will say that the Pirates League was just as precious....just in a different way. Glad all my children were able to have a similar experience. Disney is awesome, aren't they?! Anything they do, they do it right!

I love your updates! It tells me we have to do Hoop De Doo for sure! I love your kids transformations and your descriptions of the process! They are so cute! Thanks!

Phew - all caught up! This thing is moving fast!! :cool1:

We love the BBB! Such a great experience and I loved reading about your little girl's reaction to it! :cloud9:

We tried the Pirates League for the first time this past February and my son loved it! I love that your Dad got in on the action too! How fun! :goodvibes

Yay - Pirate Goofy!!! He's so cute!! :)

AWESOME! I LOVE the pics and your descriptions of BBB and Pirates' League!!! I really wish they'd had this when Emma was little - we would have done it every time! And how wonderful that their grandfather got into the fun as well with the boys. What a great family experience!!!

It really was fun for the entire family! I often wonder how people canNOT have a good time at Disney???:confused3 But I hear people say ALL the time, "we did Disney once and that was enough for me!"....I wonder what it is??? I'm very fortunate that DH loves WDW as much as I do.

Loved the BBB pics of DD. I have one scheduled for my DD in June. You're putting my fears to rest that it will be worth the money.:cloud9:

I totally agree! I get that "You guys are going to Disney, again????" all the time and I just laugh and say "Yup!" Both myself and my DD grew up at Disney, it's not the only place we go, but it's where we know we always have a great time! To each his own or as we say in French, "À chacun son goût!"

After reading your adventures of the day - I want to take my daughter to Disney on a mother/ daughter trip.

She is a senior this next year and they did not have the BBB dealio when she was a kid. It would be fun having her hair done at least and just spoiling her a bit in ways she will know she will always be my little girl.

Now I need to figure out when to go. Hmmmm... This might be interesting.

When my fiance tells me I am crazy - I am blaming you! Letting ya know! :rotfl:

I'd love to convince my DD to do BBB! She's graduating this year (this is part of her graduation present) and it would be so much fun - but I"m not sure I could convince her!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your trip report and all the pictures! I agree everything fried with sauce is the best! It's funny how people are on these forums so everything you comment on you write a disclaimer...I'm the same way b/c some people really slam what others type..lol. I agree with everything you said about the value resorts....i don't know if it's more kids at the values or what but the food courts are way more crazy than the mods and deluxe resorts! Can't wait for the rest!

After BBB, Pirates League, and running from ride to ride, we went back to the castle for lunch. We had reservations at noon, but got there early which was a good thing considering half of MK had the same idea. I will say it was a bit chaotic. People, including me, didn't know exactly where to go to sign in. Even the line for signing in was long....so we got smart and I sent the other 6 to stand in the line to enter the castle.

They give me two slips of paper which has your table number on it (one slip for the photographer, the other for the hostess) We had to wait in line to meet Cinderella which took around 15 minutes.

DS8 wasn't too excited about this meal unlike his little sister who couldn't stop talking about the princesses.
DSC02188.jpg

To be honest, DH was a bit skeptical, also. If you are on the Dxdp, it will be 2 table services. He was worried that it wouldn't be worth it. Things quickly started to change for both DS8 and DH when the kids had their picture made with Cinderella. The children were all smiles!!!
DSC02190.jpg

After meeting Cinderella, we made our way up the 'Royal' staircase. DD thought this entire process was just perfect....once again, she believed that we really were at Cinderella's house.
DSC02191.jpg

When we entered the dining room, the host greeted us and gave DD a "magic wand" (for later use during lunch) and gave DSs swords. The CM even handed my dad a sword since he was dressed like a pirate, too:rotfl:

We had a perfect table!!!!!
DSC_1501.jpg

DSC_1502.jpg

Every time a princess would enter, they would play her theme song:lovestruc It was really amazing...and best of all, our table was situated right where each princess made her grand entrance!!!

The first princess to step into the dining room was Sleeping Beauty....DS8 was amazed and WANTED to have his picture with Aurora....and he said he didn't want to eat here;)
DSC_1509.jpg

The second princess to float in was Ariel....We all thought she was so beautiful. She came to our table and immediately DS3 began to smile.

DSC02194.jpg

DSC_1507.jpg

Notice DSs makeup?? :lmao: While eating, he had issues with it. We did take off his Captain Hook Jacket so he wouldn't get it messed up. The makeup did stay on better than I thought it would.

Time for our main course......SUPER tasty!!!!! Yummmmmmmy! It was a puff pastry with some kind of beef and asparagus on top. All 4 adults ordered it and ate ALL of it!
DSC02193.jpg

The kids meal was the basic WDW kids meal, but good.
DSC_1504.jpg

Next to make her grand entrance...........
DSC_1510.jpg

Notice that DS8 is in the picture once again. Two years ago when we brought him, he refused to have his picture made with a princess....now look! He loves it!

And DDs favorite princess......
DSC02197.jpg

You know what is so very neat....all the face characters speak like the 'real' Disney character that they are portraying. We just sat in amazement as Snow White was talking to the kids.
DSC_1515.jpg

Did I mention that DH thought Snow White was quite beautiful, too;)
DSC_1516.jpg

And here is DS8 once again with a princess....
DSC_1517.jpg

DD is very proud of the picture below!
DSC_1514.jpg

Right before dessert, the lights started to flicker and they told all the little girls to grab their wands and close their eyes.
DSC_1518.jpg

They were supposed to wave the the wand and make a wish....very cute!

Dessert was also very yummy....I believe this was some sort of chocolate dessert.

Well, folks....WDW does it again! :thumbsup2 They have created a dining experience fit for a "lil' princess". I read many bad reviews about CRT, but IMO....it was a great lunch and probably one that we will do next time, also. DH and DS8 had a blast, as well as the rest of my crew.

Stay tuned for rides, dinner at Brown Derby and Fantasmic!

Lovely photo of your DD and Snow White! Both princesses were stunning!

Was your lunch the Major Domo pie? Way back when, prior to the character dining in the castle, it was my favorite there. Yum!

Oh, I want to cry - those pictures are just amazing!:goodvibes I would want the little and big snow white picture blown up and put in every room in the house! I wasn't sure of the BBB but after seeing that, I definitely want my daughter to experience that when she is old enough (only 2 on her next trip).
Can't wait to read the rest.

That's exactly what it was! I had to go to allears.net to see what it was called, but that's it. The last time I ate at the castle was years ago when I was young....but don't remember the name of the restaurant. And you are right...there were no characters.

It was called King Stefan's even though that is Princess Aurora's father and it was very nice. In 1994 when my DH and I went for our first anniversary I called that morning for reservations and got them for 1:00. Can you believe it? And there were hardly any kids there at all.

Great pics of CRT! What a beautiful setting for your lunch and the princesses were lovely! How funny that the boys warmed right up to the idea. Too cute!!!

OMG! That's it....brings back so many good memories as a child. For some strange reason, I remember that the butter was shaped like Mickey Mouse ears. I also remember thinking as a child, what a fancy restaurant! IMO, WDW did a great job with CRT, especially for children. Not sure I would go with just my DH :confused3.....or I might. And try calling now, in the morning, and getting a 1:00 ressie! Those were the days!

Think I'm going to get my mom's old Disney pictures and see if I can find some pictures of King Stefan's.

Thanks, Carrie772, for the info!

Heather,

I am really enjoying your TR. Thanks for sharing it. A couple of years ago we stayed at the Poly CL on the third floor and it was very special. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

I hopped over to your TR from the photos of the Poly thread. I am really enjoying reading about your trip and can't wait to hear more. We are hoping to make a trip next summer with the grandparents and I'm trying to decide where to stay. The Poly is looking like a great place!
