9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

Okay first of all- so sorry about the fly-by puke fest. We've talked about it before- Drew used to do the same thing.:confused3 Glad your DS is feeling better though.:goodvibes
I was watching the Pitt/Cincy game at heinz field Sat night and it was snowing in the city!!:scared1: I was cold just looking at it. I know that PGH cold. :) It's f-f-f-f-f-rreeeeeez-z-z-z-z-zing.

Second -- great wonderful awesome score on the Wii! Your guys are gonna scream so loud!:goodvibes The stupid games are what I hate paying for! Grrrr.

Now- onto WPE. Could you tell me where this CS is? is it near the TS restaurant? I want to eat there in May. Not sure why they have two of the same things listed differently on the menu.:rotfl: Kinda weird.
And funny you both orderd it!

So----- Trixie--- did you answer your phone????? inquiring minds want to know!:rotfl:

Looking forward to more!

jo

PS--- SEA...... thanks for the offer of getting the Cookie cutters!!! I decided last night that I am a grumpy pants bah humbug- I've been on a diet this week and .... I"M NOT BAKING THIS YEAR!
I was going to do it all tomorrow and Wednesday like I do every year-- but I've got a bad attitude and I'm not gonna do it.:lmao: I told Mark he was out of luck on the cookie front and he said that's fine, he'll get them from his mom.

So thanks for the offer- I'll get them in May when we go. I appreciate it-- you're always so sweet to me.

WPE looks really good! We have eaten there once before, and it was very good. We are planning on trying it when we go to DTD in March. Also, we are planning a trip for either July or November and POR is on our list for resorts!

I love World of Disney too. I could walk around in the store for hours just looking. Of course, I hardly ever go in and "just look". I usually buy something.

The food at Wolfgang Puck's looks delish. We have never eaten there and may just have to use one of our counter service credits there when we go back in May.

Yes, apparently it was snowing a bit in and closer to the city Saturday. DH had to go into work Saturday morning and said it was snowing there. We didn't get any here until yesterday and it was hardly anything then. But so very COLD!! :cold: I'm not sure why this comes as such a shock -- it is December in PA!! I guess it's just because November was so warm.

I know, those stupid Wii games are so expensive! :scared1: Guess my kids will be only playing Wii Sports for quite some time being that it is the only game that comes with it! :rotfl:

WPE -- There are actually 2 locations. One is right there with the WP Cafe on the West Side. It is very small and doesn't have any indoor seating. We ate there once. Outside, in May. :sad2: It was about 92 degrees out. The other one (and nicer one) is in the Marketplace part of DTD. Kind of right in behind the Disney's Days of Christmas Store. This one was redone probably less than 2 years ago and is very nice. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

We usually do WPE every other trip. We try another CS at DTD in between. Last time we tried Cooke's of Dublin and it wasn't good at all! One time we tried Earl of Sandwich and it was just okay. I think we'd like ot give it another try sometime.

I vote for POR in November! :thumbsup2

I know, I just walk around in amazement when I am at the WOD store. I actually had DH take the kids this time so I could enjoy it all alone for a bit! :rotfl:

You should definitely give WPE a try! It is a great deal on the DDP. Our bill was $66. That's a lot for a CS meal. Most of our CS meals total around $40.

Shelly - Great report on WPE - I absolutely love their garlic mashed potatoes. Your food looks really good - especially those chicken strips. Makes me want to go there for lunch today. Yum!

Glad to hear that your son is feeling better. I hate it when you have to wake up to that nonsense.

Your boys are going to flip out when they open up that Wii. You should wrap it up into multiple boxes - they will freak out. LOL.

Monday November 9th continued ~

So after lunch I decided to give Trixiequilts a call. But unfortunately she didn't answer. :sad1: I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't answer her cell phone when she knew I would possibly be calling sometime this week??? Like I was totally expecting her to be sitting by her phone waiting on me to call!! :rotfl: Isn't it funny how when you are at WDW the whole rest of the world seems to disappear? You forget that there is anything else. Job, house, cooking, cleaning, responsibilities, etc. . . Well anyway, as it turns out (when I talked to Trixie a few days later) she was in her basement working on a quilt and only had her home phone down there with her and didn't hear her cell phone ring upstairs. So I left her a brief message. Told her that the weather was great except for those high winds, that we were having a blast, and most importantly that we had found her keychain the day before!! So I decided while I was sitting there that I would call DISer Jobird. I thought for sure I put her number in my cell phone. But nope! It wasn't there. I looked back on my received calls to get her number that way, but I guess it had been too long since she had called me and her number was gone! :scared1: I knew right where her number was -- at home. So no DISers to talk to for me! :sad2:

After that we made our way the rest of the way around DTD. All of the Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and the West Side. We stopped at lots and lots of stores. DH had forgotten his sunglasses at home, so he was looking for some. He never did find what he wanted at DTD. Luckily it was very cloudy that day and he really didn't need sunglasses anyway.

It is so funny looking back at those pictures of the West Side and how empty it was that day. Because when we went back on Saturday (the 4th) it was so packed that you could hardly move. We didn't know until we got there that the Festival of the Masters was going on. And boy did it draw a huge crowd!

Then it was back to Once Upon a Toy so DS10 could build his own lightsaber (like we didn't already have 6 of them at home) and so DS8 could buy tons and tons of Star Wars toys! :rotfl:

continued. . .

And now it was time for our usual stop at DTD to pick up some snacks to take back to the room -- Goofy's Candy Co. I have to say that I am very disappointed in this place as far as the DDP is concerned. You used to be able to get 3 pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and rolled in a topping (m&m's, reese's, sprinkles, etc.) for 1 snack credit on the DDP. Last time we were there they told us it was now 1 pretzel dipped in chocolate and rolled in a topping. This time when I asked for a pretzel dipped in chocolate and rolled in reese's for DS10 they told me that it can't have a topping if we wanted to use it as a snack credit. The price for it is $1.75. Are you kidding me??? Snack credits are usually good for up to $4 as long as it is not a "family size" snack. She said he could have 1 pretzel dipped in chocolate with NO topping for 1 snack credit. :sad2: Then DS8 wanted a lollipop. Nope, can't use a snack credit on it either. I know that you can, because we did it later in the trip at other places. Same thing with cotton candy. They told us no. I was so disgusted by the time we got out of there. I have gone rounds with the CM's in there before. They have told me no and I have asked them to try it anyway and it always rings up fine as a snack credit and they always act so surprised. I'm not sure what their deal is in there. But we won't be back to find out. As it ended up we paid OOP for 1 pretzel with a topping and one lollipop - totalling $3.95 together, because this time they refused to even attempt to ring it up as a snack credit. Yet, they let me purchase a chocolate covered strawberry for over $3 for 1 snack credit.

And of course no trip to DTD would be complete without stopping to play in the water before going to the bus stop!

We then took the bus back to POR rather than the boat. Much quicker and much less windy!!

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

Yes, DS is feeling much better. What a night that was! :scared:

The boys are going to be SO excited when they see that Wii. Hopefully they will know how to get it all set up because I sure don't have a clue! :rotfl: I'm sure DS10 will have it all hooked up in about 3 minutes!

Shelly - wonderful pictures of your Christmas tree and decorations. Everything looks very beautiful. Your Mickey wreath is awesome too.

Hi Shelly! All caught up...

Saw the Disney special too and loved it! Can't wait to see Princess and the Frog. Hope your DS changes his mind and watches it on DVD at least.

Sorry DS was sick- not too much info at all. I think we've all been there when the sun shines in the AM and you realize what all actually happened in the dark! :scared1:

Loved the DTD pics- Your DS looks thrilled! My DS is going to be in heaven when he sees all that Star Wars stuff. I think we're going to let him make a light saber while we are there in Jan. He just bought one off the shelf last trip. I think he'll enjoy making one this time around.

I need to get a hanger for that new wreath. For now it's just leaning against the entertainment center. I does look pretty cool there though when the lights from the tree shine on it!

Yes, Once Upon a Toy is Star Wars heaven for the boys!! You should definitely let your DS make his lightsaber. It's a fun experience! Kind of confusing, but very fun!! And the CM's in there are great. Super helpful. DS10 said -- that little old lady sure knew how to put together a lightsaber!! :rotfl:

New to the boards and just found your trip report and I love it! I've got a picky DS8pirate: so I like all the kid food reports. Also, we've never been to DTD but plan to on the last day of our trip, so I'm getting great ideas from your TR. Thank you so much!

P.S. I'm glad your DS is better!

She isn't really a CM, she is a Jedi!

WELCOME to the DIS and to my TR!! :goodvibes Glad you're here! :cool1:

It's pretty fun trying to eat out for a week straight with a picky eater, isn't it?! We have been known to ask for a grilled cheese with no cheese or a turkey sandwich hold the turkey! :rotfl:

DTD is a lot of fun!!

Thanks, he seems fine. He's working on his homework now and there's no sign of the rest of us getting sick. :wizard:

No way! I would never forget! I just always think to myself that I am going to post after I get to see the pics and then I always forget to!!! I am loving it though. Your boys crack me up. Now that I have met them it makes me appreciate the reports more. :goodvibes You say DS10 said this or DS8 did that and I'm like "Yep, I can see that!" LOL :rotfl:
