9/9/07 Wonder 4-day

Kelley,

Thanks for the work on the names.....lets stop talking about storms....now we have 2 in the atlantic basin....aaaahhhh but both of them are headed very westerly....just makes me a wee bit nervous.

If no one else has a better suggestion about the time and place then lets go with this:
1. One hour Before the Safety drill - at the Promenade Lounge - I can wear my Jack Sparrow Skull cap for easy ID!
2. 20-30 min meet and greet....

See ya soon - I should be in bed by now....

Blessings
Ben

Sounds great to me. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Do you want to do the little gifty thing? I tried to find buckeyes (the nut not the candy!) earlier today. It is the first thing I haven't been able to find on the internet!! Guess I have to think of something else if we do this!!pirate:

I know it is somewhere but what time is the Safety Drill? I have a pedicure scheduled for 2:00pm but want to make the meet and greet :thumbsup2

According to this link the safety drill is 3:30-4:30
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1484084

So that would make the time 2:30 - hope that works.
I will post quick reply to Kelley and see if she has a number yet .... and then lets just leave the gift idea up to each person...if you want to bring something great!

Blessings

Hi Kelley,

Not totaly the best at posting on the thread yet but wanted to be sure you got this word
the dis meet would be at 2:30 since the drill appears to be at 3:30 according to the latest info on the disboard....at the end of the day we'll go by our personal navigator given the day we board

Well, I looked to see if there was another time I could do my spa visit but it is booked solid. We will meet but just won't be there until 3:00 rather than at 2:30. Looking forward to putting faces to the names :thumbsup2

Anyone else starting to wig-out about hurricanes? Mostly I'm concerned about getting to Orlando and the Port. If there has to be a hurricane around that time, I just hope it comes along while we're out at sea, not while we're trying to embark. **fingers tightly crossed**

I'm starting to freak out! :scared: Guess there's not much I can do about it, but I'm still concerned. I know what you mean about getting to Orlando and the port - I think that will be the hard part. I read the other day that the peak day of hurricane season is Sept 10! Hopefully if there is one, it will be the week before or week after - just not us! :rotfl:

Not freaking much.....just having faith that our 4 day cruise will turn into a 21 day due to rerouting!:woohoo: But I will pack enough Bonine and Ginger pills for 3 months just in case!

I have been purposely staying away from the DISboards because I've been so swamped at work I didn't want to get too excited too soon! But I'm officially getting excited now! I haven't done a thing toward getting ready except buy a Pirates of the Caribbean tee shirt at the Disney outlet store in St. Augustine. We were going to dress up for pirate night - but really haven't had time to get it together! I need to go hunt for our birth certificates! I know they're around here from when we went 6 years ago - but I guess I need to get on the ball now!:scared1:

Hi everyone!

Anyone else with GTY get their stateroom assignment yet? We just found out yesterday that we were upgraded from a Category 12 to a Category 9 on Deck 2. Wooo-hooooo!!!

Amy :cool1:

That's great! We're in a category 9 on deck 2 also, but we booked a specific cabin (not a gty). How is the location of the cabin you guys were assigned? I keep hoping I'll log onto the DCL website and we will have been upgraded, but no such luck yet! We will be happy with an outside cabin anyway.

Now if those documents would show up... :rolleyes1

We've been assigned 2548, which looks like it's starboard, about halfway between the forward and midship elevators? Never having been on the ship before, I don't know how this location is, but everything I've seen so far indicates no problems.

Amy

We are leaving for WDW in 15 days and haven't received our cruise documents (just received our travel documents for WDW stay). Question is, when should we get our cruise documents?

DCL sends the cruise docs about two weeks before your cruise date. We leave for WDW in 12 days. Our travel agent is just waiting on our cruise docs (she has our WDW docs already) and will then send everything together. She said the cruise docs might cut it close, so she might hand-deliver the packet.

Amy, congrats on your upgrade! We are also on deck 2 on the others side of the ship and just down a bit in 2078. I am actually hoping to NOT get an upgrade. I deliberately selected that stateroom because it is pretty much in the center of the ship...less motion I'm hoping. There was a website that I found early on that had cabin reviews but I can't seem to find it. If I figure it out, I will post it.

Got it!! DUH. It was right under my nose.

Hey Amy,
I haven't been on dis boards for a couple days but just a quick side-bar about the cruise docs.....
Most of the stuff was just already on the website - and we had already filled out per the web instruction. You do however receive your tickets via mail....are you saying you haven't gotten the boarding tickets....?
All I can say is that when it comes to details and service - DCL is the best I have experienced anywhere - so be encouraged.

Anyone else keeping up on the latest tropical depressions.....

See ya later
Ben

Oh, I know, DCL has been great. The complication comes from the fact that we are leaving for Florida 9 days before the cruise, so the two-week mark for getting our documents cuts it a bit close. I know that we have filled out pretty much everything we'll need online, but the travel agent is holding our WHOLE packet until she gets the cruise stuff -- so we don't have our ME luggage tags, our WDW paperwork, etc. She did promise to hand deliver next week if we cut it too close, so we'll see!

I'm getting very, very excited. :goodvibes
