Ok everyone....today is packing day!!

I am always a last minute (and I mean last minute) packer and it drives DH crazy. I have to work tomorrow, so I can't do it tomorrow and me being in slow mo pregnant mode, don't think packing mine and ds's stuff would be too good at 5:30 tomorrow night..especially when I like to go to bed 7:30-8. DH wants to get my car packed tonight, so we don't even have to think about it tomorrow night. I of course, have to run out to the dreaded walmart (I don't like our walmart very much) and pick up a couple of last minute things I forgot last time. We have to leave our house at 5:30ish on Wed am for our flight.

Luckily the weather here has been cold the last few days, so my shorts that I was bringing are still clean. I have to find the bin w/all my old maternity clothes, though..I have a pair or 2 of shorts in there, that I wanted to bring.

Linda - found an error on your spreadsheet - we are in 5024... not 5524.

I sent you an email also.

Thanks

Ginny

When you mentioned the comments about the RV's it made me laugh so hard! With our tickets we were able to walk around between them and I was offered booze and witnessed parties to rival Jimmy Buffet concert goers tailgate parties! I even saw a girl passed out with her -um- top exposed! it was diffently an experience.

Oh the stories I could tell you! :rotfl2: My mother and I own a temp agency and both years we got the contract to put temp employees in varies locations at Talladega. So we had about 250 employees working. But we had to be on site to supervise them. :rolleyes1 In 96 we were there for 30 days working and supervising. Ever hear of Dega Beads!? :scared1:

I hope your mother gets better!

Amy ~ you aren't going to believe this but we used to work the consession stands and beer stands at Talladega, so we are very familiar with "Dega Beads." We worked for Yarbrough. Talk about crazy people there, I had this guy try to buy beer from me using his fake ID... the only problem was his fake ID said he was 18, what is the point of having a fake id for 18?? :confused3

:rotfl2: That about sums up the type people that go to those races! I didn't enjoy watching the races from the track. You can't see anything. But I did enjoy going through the in field and watching the people. :rotfl: I have a picture of a guy in a lawn chair shirtless, balanaced very lightly on top of a ladder. How he got in that chair and stayed up there, I have not a clue. Oh he was also passed out with a beer in his hand. He was BURNT! I'm talking crispy red.

CAIRNS, Australia (Sept. 4) -- Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

That is so sad!!!

I am jealous you got your DH to wear a tux. The only time mine wore a tux was our prom, our wedding, and then the children's weddings. :rotfl: I have a hard enough time just to get him in a tie. :lmao: ;)

I couldn't believe it when dh suggested that we buy him a tux!!!!!!! Our prom & BIL's wedding are the only times that he has ever worn a tux! LOL! And the prom was quite a few years ago! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He has even lead me to believe that he is willing to wear it other times....... We'll see.... :teeth:

, I just travel too much and know how TSA throws/moves stuff around when they are going through things and I'm just a little OC about my belongings.

Does it help you to know that for about 15yrs dh traveled for 2 -3 weeks out of every month ? He would be in one place for about 2 -4 days. :)

DS still isnt crazy about wearing it but too bad. He is only 8 so he has no say :rotfl2:

Our 8ds is really excited about wearing a tux -- it's his 26 db that is being a pain! :rotfl: Dh wanted to buy him one and it kept mouthing about it so, we rented him one. :teeth: 8ds's is a little big -- the measurements for the size 8 were too small & the 10 too big....
8ds knows he looks good in his tux and that is all that matters. ;)

I'm not worried about the TSA's as much as I am the luggage handlers themself. I made the mistake of watching them outside the window at atlanta airport once. :rolleyes1 A guy was driving one of those luggage carts and luggage fell off. The guy right behind him in another cart ran over ever peice of luggage that fell off. I mean he didn't even slow down!! Luggage busted open and clothes went EVERYWHERE!! I looked to make sure it wasn't mine and walked away.

Dh woke me up sometime during the night to tell me... It is terrible sad for his wife & children. :sad2:

happy Monday...only a few days to go...YAY!

Today dh is off from work...and we are in a cleaning and ironing etc...frenzy. I just finished making valances to go with my older dd comforter...I couldn't find them at the store. Got a great deal though on the comforter, so I just bought extra pillow cases and made valances...lol...Gotta love when they mark stuff down...only $25 for a RL comforter!! Her new curtains are hung, new sheets etc....one thing done!

Now for the ironing...to be sure there is enough clothes while I am gone...

I want the house completely clean....lol...hopefully it will still be clean when I get back... :lmao: I know...dream on...

Have a great day everyone....Amy? How did your mom's surgery go?

The mom with the cold (sorry can't remember who you were) hope she feels better realllly soon!

CYA later...

That was pretty much my schedule, too. I was on the road over 250 days of my first year of marriage! But things have really changed in the last few years...first of all luggage is just not made the way it used to be :teeth: Remember the old elephant standing on the samsonite or dropping a suitcase out of a ten story building ads? They sure don't make them like they used to. Then again, your DH uses Hartmann, right? You could pack Baccarat in that and it wouldn't break! Besides, now someone besides the thieves riffle through it on a regular basis! :rotfl: So, we will all place our faith in pixiedust and hope for the best.

Me, too! I am heading to our Walmart soon for wrinkle release stuff. I ironed yesterday and packed. When I had to repack last night everything was already wrinkled. So, I am going shopping for wrinkle release since so many people on this thread recommended it. Wlamart is always a fun time, especially right before back to school (which starts tomorrow here) ...think of it as practice for if we get rerouted to the Nassau straw market :rotfl2:

That is so sad! They said he swam over the ray and that the ray was buried in the sand on the reef. That as he swam over it then ray let lose the barb. The barb hit him in the chest and periced(sp) his heart. I'm guessing he never knew what hit him. :sad1: He inspired so many kids to learn about wildlife. He took it down to their level and made them enjoy it.

I wonder in worst case thoughts. How would they reroute a 10 day? Take us around Cuba and do the cruise backwards?

I heard about Steve Irwin last night. I could hardly believe it; that is so sad! I am sure he and his family were aware that something like that could happen any time due to the nature of his work. I am not much of a fan and don't really watch him much, but he seemed like a great guy and so likeable in his own way. He will be missed.

Linda dont worry - my DH and DS are both wearing tuxes for formal night.

Our first 4 cruises DH just wore a dark suit but then last year I rented him one and he liked it. So this year I bought him one - LOL. I was able to get DS one too and I have the most Stunning picture of my DH and DS from last years repo cruise in front of the mickey statue at Lumieres. DS still isnt crazy about wearing it but too bad. He is only 8 so he has no say :rotfl2:
I know, DH never wants to bring it...but once we are there he always wants to wear it. Since we have late seating there are always early seating people walking around in theirs before we go change and that gets him in the mood. I always think guys look handsome in a tux.
