9/7/06 10 night Wonder Southern Caribbean "Cruising in WONDERland!"

I wonder in worst case thoughts. How would they reroute a 10 day? Take us around Cuba and do the cruise backwards?

We were on a RCCL cruise last year that had somewhat of the same itinerary as this one...they dropped stuff in the Bahamas area and took us to San Juan instead. They did manage to get us to St. Thomas but all of the excursions to St. John were cancelled. We had a great time anyway.

Would make for calmer sailing on the western side of Cuba as opposed to the Atlantic..

Nassau, I wouldn't mind. San Juan, I'm not so sure about. I guess it's still to early to worry about and really not all that much to worry about. As long as we get on the boat. Looking at the resent updates. I'm more worried about getting home than anything. It looks like it's slowing down and hasn't moved much, in the prediction range.


I might need those undies after all!

DH has been tracking TS 6 now and is so paranoid- I am glad I can show him that site now & hopefully he'll lighten up! On our first cruise (granted it was in 1998 and on Princess) we were nearly re-routed and we were offered $$ back b/c of it if we were (totally different worry though- we cruised the Mediterranean and there was threat of bombings & etc)- wonder if DCL would do the same?

Mike is wearing a tux as well- he'll have 3 dates- so he has a lot of girls to impress

Anyway- I have the roster from Carol, and I think I am missing a few staterooms :

Did everyone get Palo reservations? When is everyone going?
We are reserved for September 11th at 6pm

We just cancelled our Coral World excusion as well- either we will do it on our own or cab it to Magens Bay for a few hours on our own. Still doing the St Lucia Beach Break & Ocean Park & Swim. Plus the Pineapple Beach excusrion Crystal wa able to set up for us

We are just about done packing- havce to run out still to grab more undies and socks for the girls... I thought I had enough but we don't- oh well. Always something

We are packing more wine as well in our checked baggage (we have aleady shipped ahead 3 bottles- 2 for the wine tasting though )- I think we have done it before without breakage- lots of bibble wrap & a ziploc & all is good!

I heard about Steve Irwin this am- so sad

I have my nephew again, well he wants to "help" me do everything. So I know to put off packing until he leaves. Plus he doesn't understand why he can't miss 10 days of school and go with me, to see Mickey.

So as soon as he is gone, I'm off to pack!

Hey Steph, when you buy your extra DCL suitcase, pack me in instead of goodies. I would love to be gone for 21 days of crusing with Mickey.

I had a great time at the drive-in movie next door. The original Herbie was great. We all had glow jewelry to wear, bags of popcorn, old-fashioned candy, and even the ads shown in a drive-in theater. Of course the margaritas were a little extra bonus.

That's like the dirve-in's when I was a teenager(except for the margaritas)!

I'm working again today. Yesterday I packed 90% of things, I can finish up on Thur morning before we drive to the port. I hope everyone has a safe trip to FL. Can't worry too much about the tropical depression, as long as we can board the ship and leave the port, we'll be OK. See ya all real soon. Alex

I can really do without Nassau though. Since we're heading to the Southern Caribbean, we may be able to circumvent the storm. The cruiseships always go where they are not, so we'll be fine as long as we can board and get underway. Heck, we may even get a few extra days out of it! LOL!

I like your thinking. A few extra days would be great!!!!!!! I really prefer the itinerary we started with. Any order of the islands would be fine. I do not think the 11 day cruisers would be too happy.

We are finished packing.

We have three 27 inch suitcases to be checked, and two 21 inch to carry on. John has a fannypack, and I have a huge carry all for my purse. They all weigh under 35 pounds so not much room but do have the weight to bring home" stuff". Jewelry (gold) can weigh lots but does not take up much room.

We have the soft side Samsonite. We retired hard hard shelled cases of Samsonite three years ago. We have tire tracks on the old lugguage where one of the baggage trucks rolled over it. What ever happens, happens.

Ceila gave me a hint about wrinkle release. Someone she knew had it explode in her checked luggage. Make sure you leave room for air to expand in side the bottle. I just poured some into a container to leave at home.

I have seen it a couple of times before but watching it now knowing I will be there in 3 days makes it much more exciting!

The only packing I have done is in my mind, the actual packing won't happen until Wednesday. Today is laundry/ironing day, although I am sure there will be a last minute load or two on Wednesday.

Happy Labor Day to everyone! We are enjoying the day off!! Trying to finish ironing and packing.

Hopefully the storm wont come our way, but as long as we get on the ship I will be happy! We left most of our hurricane shutters up and left all the patio stuff in the garage just in case a storm decides to visit while we are away!

Only two more days of work!!

I was so sad when I heard about the crochedile hunter. I didn't really watch him, but what a freak way to die. When it is your time it is your time...

We will have to dicuss our Nascar expeirences when we meet up on the ship. Some of that stuff was too juicy for the boards!

My mom is feeling better from her cold. I think it was because I threatened to take her to the doctor. There is nothing like the threat of a hospital to make people get better.

I have to clean now. I have a pile of clothes taking up the spare bedroom and I need to get it clean for my sister to stay in while she watches the house. She spent the last two days here since it has been 105 degrees and she is without air contitioning so everything is pilled in a big mess! Just some errands tomorrow and we will be out of here for a 6:40 am flight Wednesday.
