The 2 I went to were on deck 10 at 3 by the Outlook bar. Then we finish up in time for the lifeboat drill.
Carol

For Sally and I that means we might miss the party. We won't get to the port until around 2. So it will depend on how fast we can get through the lines at the terminal. I don't know if anyone else will have this problem or not.

Hi Sandy! I took your lead, oh mighty Disney guru, and decided to make the shirts and then order them on-line. Of course, they rejected the order within a couple of hours. I figured that was it and forgot about it. Two days ago, I got an email which stated that my order was ready to ship. Surprise!

I can't believe it went through, but certainly glad they did. They are the golf type polo, with three buttons down the front and collar. I ordered them in white. They are very nice. I had them done at CafePress.

We are so looking forward to Disneyland this weekend. Will you wear your gold ears?

Celia...

:thumbsup2 KUDOs on the shirt... you have learned well grasshopper! :yoda:

yes, I'll be wearing my gold ears headband...
IF I don't forget them in the car...
I am usually so excited to get to the park, that I tend to forget them in the car! :lmao:
I've had to buy a few new pairs, so now I have one in each car, in my backpack, on my desk, etc. :rotfl:

Will you be wearing your new golf shirt? :thumbsup2

I have been reading posts about other Dis meets and this is something I thought we should consider --

We've held ours at 3pm on deck 10 overlooking the goofy pool. We tried one at sailaway one time and you couldn't hear because of the party plus everyone else on the ship was there at the same time.

Where/when have others here held their Dis meets once onboard?

Ours was held 3pm at SCOOPS... all the kids got to enjoy some ice cream :mickeybar and trade their post cards and get to know each other in a friendly enviornment :wave2: :yay: while parents chatted all around :grouphug: and exchanged gifts and books, etc. It wasn't too crowded and there are plenty of deck chairs around. party:
Just my 2 cents.... I'll meet where ever.

Hi Sandy, "grasshopper here". I think I won't wear the shirt, since I have a tendency to get everything I eat all over my clothes! LOL! I'm just a kid at heart I guess. I'll wear my navy blue t-shirt that has a nice big TINKER BELL on it. I'm 5'8", DH is 6'2". We're kind of hard to miss. My DH will probably wear his favorite STITCH shirt. He's such a kid. LOL! I'll also have one of those Cast lanyards with Tink on it. :bounce: :bounce:

We'll see you at 12:30 PM inside the entrance to Pizza Port! :cool1:

I like the idea of meeting at 3:00 PM at SCOOPS. It gives the kids something fun to do, and the place won't be jammed with others so we can say hello and get to meet each other in a semi-calm environment. Of course, like Sandy, I'm up for anything.

Wow! I leave for the evening and I have four pages to read by mid-morning!

Whazzapp: Your family is adorable! I can't wait to meet them. Tell Staci she did a wonderful job on the fish extender.

I can't sew a thing! I told my Mom that I would tackle trying to hem a couple of pairs of cruise pants for the boys...she said "Um...yeah, ok. I'll grab them when I see you on Sunday!" Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mom.:rotfl:

I saw Snakes of A Plane last night with the boys and one of Clayton's friends. It was hilarious...if you like those kind of movies! I probably shouldn't admit it, but I love that kind of stuff! I think hanging with the boys and their friends keeps me young. It's just great that they still think it's cool that I go with them to all these things.

Still no docs for me yet....oh well, I'm not worried. Right now I've got to get that box I haven't started packing ready to mail by Tuesday.

Pineapple Beach: I sent a follow up email after Piglett33's question about the taxi rates. No word from them yet. I would like to finalize this on Monday, so I'm waiting for their response.

Sail-away Party: All the festivities are on deck 9, since we will be up on deck 10 it will be perfect to see everthing thing but not be in the middle of all the chaos. We held our meet on deck 10 on my last DCL cruise and everything was fine...albeit windy as Amlee mentioned. If we move it to an earlier time, we do run the risk of missing some people. It's important that we all try to make it due to last minute stateroom changes/assignments. We won't be able to leave gifts if we don't have the latest info. Those who are worried about missing characters...you will have PLENTY of opportunities to meet and greet over 10 days! You could also had down to deck 9 about 5, after a quick hello to everyone! Some families did that on my last cruise. At least we were able to put faces with names and update cabin lists.

We should be able to find each other pretty easily at the meet, since we all should be either wearing lime green or something identifiable like our "official logo" or DISBoard name on a t-shirt, pin, or something.

I'll be MIA most of tomorrow. It's my birthday and we have a few family things planned. Yep...I'll be 46 instead of 45 for our sailing:lmao: . It's OK...you're as young as you feel...right? My mom's is next week. She'll be 75! We celebrate them at the same time since they are less than a week apart.

Hi Amlee, this is Chris's DH checking in - nice picture !!!

Speaking of pictures, I've updated my Photo Info Page which contains information on Digital Resources, Scrapbooking, Photo contests, Photo Magazines, Camera Reviews, etc.

I use a folding menu on the pages to keep the page size smaller. Just click on a topic of interest to expand the list. Click again to close the expanded list.

Besides this direct link, you can get to my home page from most of the pages on my cruise website.

Enjoy,

Gary

Thanks, I took it last year in Fiji. I see we use similar cameras. I use the Kodak Easy Share DX7590. I love my little camera. I'm going to check out your website. I also have a sony dvd recorder. I'm still learning to use it.

This being our first cruise with Disney...I would really like to see the festivities deck side.... ...

I KNOW my 5dd will be down right in front of the stage come 4:30! :rotfl: :rotfl: SHe is really small (the size of a 3yr old) and she is quick! I was so embarrassed in Feb since I had to run and cut in front of people to keep up with her!

That's why some of the people that posted on the other thread suggested 3pm (life boat drill is at 4, deck party at 4:30) on deck 10.

If you are traveling with a child without both parents...you need to have a notarized letter signed by that parent giving permission to take the child out of the country...and provide medical treatment as necessary. I have had to do this before with my 2 older children....from my first marriage....
I did up a letter this morning, and sent Brian off to the town hall to have it signed and notarized.

I have only been asked for it once...I usually just take it out with all my documents...they see it, glance...etc. But, if you don't have it, and they ask for it...you could be denied boarding.

Just thought I would pass this along...and if it has already been discussed, I apologize for doing it again...lol...

American Airlines always asks me...... The first time I took the kids (we only had the 2 oldest at the time) out of the country we were meeting dh in Mexico. The travel agent we had used did NOT tell us that I would need that paper... I got to the airport and AA asks for it.... AACCKKK!!!! Luckily for me DH is a *jr* and his mom and dad were with me at the airport... Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to take the kids and this was before cell phones.....

Depending on the weather, we could meet at the front of the ship on deck 10 befoe the sail-away party. It could be windy if the wind is up. There wasn't alot of people out there on our cruise, but I don't know about other cruises.

right before the party is the lifeboat drill (4pm)

The 2 times we've cruised (Oct '05 & Feb '06) deck 10 wasn't too crowed at all earlier in the afternoon. Dh takes the younger ones swimming while 15dd & I walk around Deck 10. :)

At that time you shouldn't have any lines! :thumbsup2 It should be smooth sailing!!! :teeth:

LOL That's what I'm thinking and they know I'm coming and can't go through the metal detectors. So we won't be in that line. They will pull us to the side and do a quick inspection and will be on our way. I'm also a CC member so that will speed up the process.

I HATE cutting it that close. :sad2: LOL we might have our carry-ons with us, but will be there.

Hello everyone!

Sorry that I have been MIA for so long here on the boards, but things around here got really crazy all of the sudden. A week and a half ago we bought a new house, and have been cleaning and packing like mad since we need to sell our current house ASAP(like before we leave for the cruise!). We are trying to prepare for an open house tomorrow but are still painting the inside and we still have about a million other things to do. I haven't had any time to think about the cruise at all, and have not been able to update the web site this past week. I'm hoping to get access to a PC sometime after Sunday(I'm on a Mac at my parents house right now with no access o the web site), but to those of you who sent me PMs and emails, I'm not ignoring you and thanks for being so patient!

Oh, and of course I got a summons for jury duty the other day for September 1st just to make things even more fun! :dance3: They said I will be excused but I still have to show up that day anyway to report and bring my travel docs with me. Why can't I mail it in?!! :furious: UGH

And no cruise docs yet...

I miss everyone on here and I hope to eventually read through all the threads that I missed...which looks like it will take me at least a week :teeth:

It's good to see so many new members joining us for this cruise! :wave2:

Did we end up cancelling the wine tour b/c of the new carryon regulations and such????

When we went on the Wonder last week, we arrived at 2:30PM, went right thru the checkin process and were on the ship quickly. Have you checked in on the DCL website? We filled out all the forms in advance, printed one form which needed to be signed and brought with us. Hope it goes smoothly for you. Alex
