Yes we like Le Cellier and we did go there for my 40th birthday last year and a few days ago I made a phone call to ensure we are going there for my 41st this year !!

Last year they treated me like royalty and called me King David (because of all the castles in Wales apparently), and we had a brilliant time.

Next year on the 1st of September (my birthday) we get off the Disney Magic after the 15 day Panama Canal repo cruise and guess where I intend going that evening for my birthday dinner ??? - that is, if we can fit any more food in following a 15 day cruise !! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I guess we'll always know where to find you on your b-day. :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about the Crystal Palace - we've been there twice for buffet breakfasts (and going again in August this year) and found it excellent. On the last occasion, we didn't have a reservation and just wlked to there door and straight-in. The time before, we arrived 30 minutes early (VERY unlike me) and were still able to go straight in.

I'm glad that all of you have had good luck there! LOL! Ours was for dinner -- maybe they aren't as nice at dinner time. ;)

Helen is in full scale planningmode with our Disney Dining Plan and making ADRs here, there, and everywhere - I just let her get on with it - it's easier.

What fun!!! I drive myself crazy making plans & ressies!!! :rotfl:

By the way Steph, I forgot to mention I finally got round to havng my chest x-ray the other week and results are all clear - as expected really - and I have finally cleared of that persistent chest infection that started on the cruise last September - :cool1:

David

I am glad that all is clear but, it is terrible that you were feeling bad for so long!
I really hope that it doesn't come back!!!

Whilst having a look through some of our photos just now I came across this, so I thought I'd post it - it's Bethan in the National Costume of Wales - some of you may have seen her wearing it on the cruise.......

I can't believe you are going to WDW after the cruise.:rolleyes1 Howmany days are you planning? I think I will have to be rolled on the plane after 15 days of eating.

Getting ready for bed, but David...I had to say how ADORABLE Bethan looks in her costume!princess: What a cutie!

Glad you got the all clear at the Dr.'s.

I hope to join you all at WDW for the Labor Day weekend. Waiting on Southwest to post air fares through Sept. I'll book the hotel after that. When will we know if they are offering the dining plan?

The menu at Le Cellier seems to be steakhouse type of food. Here is the link to the menu and alot of other menus too. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_lcd.htm

We had a hard time deciding where to eat but since I could look at the menus is made it a little easier. I am still chaning them around so we will see where we end up. He doesn't care where we eat so I get to decide.

Has anyone eaten at Sci-Fi Drive-In? Thinking of going here instead of 50's

Steph- That picture of your daugter is adorable, they missed out on seeing the cutest girl is the reasaurant!

Dave- That is such a cute pic of your daughter. My stepdad's family is from Estonia and it reminds me alot of that. I am glad she is proud of where she comes from we need more kids like that.

The flight from London to LA is 5456 miles so I intend getting as much out of California as possible. The cruise leaves 17-Aug-08 so we are thinking of flying out on Thursday 07-Aug or Mon 11-Aug. When we get off the cruise on 1-Sept (My birthday !!!) we will go to WDW for a week and stay in either Old Key West or Beach Club Villas using our DVC points.

That's the current plan.:thumbsup2

Regarding the chest infection, I took antibiotics on the cruise (my doctor allows me to keep them due to a pre-existing condition) but it really debilitated me for two days. When I got back to the UK I went to the doctor for more medication in September and November - with no affect.

I went to the doctor again in January who referred me for x-rays and a few days after the x-rays the infection just vanished :confused3

I wasn't too concerned because I had a series of scans on my lungs the early part of last year and they were clear.

I've got physio tomorrow morning again for my knee - it's still not working properly and frequently collapses unexpectedly. The consultant surgeon is talking about "going back-in for another look"

Jon doesn't care what resturants I pick as long as he gets to eat 3 times a day! LOL!

I think so too! And you can just see the  she has for the characters! She looked like that with everyone of them! :goodvibes When we were at AK and she saw Eyeore she told him *I love you Eyeore!* and then she kissed him! :rotfl:

Oh, my!!! I really hope that get you in tip top shape soon!!!! You are way too young to be having these problems!!!

Well it looks like we will be painting the house ourselves. THe painter wanted $2,500 just for the inside :scared1: , my step-dad called him back and said no way! Oh well just another thing to add to my list of stuff to do. I can't wait for my Disney vacation.:cloud9:

That's why I would always insist on us doing it ourselves! It is expensive!!! Jon was THRILLED last summer when I let him hire someone to paint the downstairs.... :rotfl: We've been married 27yrs and I decided after all those years he certainly deserved a break! LOL!

Jill thanks for all the info. You know John's backgroud so unless they serve lots of chicken,I might pick somewhere else. Did you get under the free dining program too?? I still am hoping they do it in September:thumbsup2

We have eaten at Sci-Fi Drive-IN. I don't think the food was exceptional but we did love the tacky b-rated movies they play. It was a great place for a lunch!!!!

WOW!!! John only gets 20 vacation days a year so we like to leave some days for during the holidays. How wonderful to hit both parks in one year.:rotfl2: The miles on a plane prevent us from going to Australia which would be my TOAL (Tip Of A Lifetime) The thought of all those hours would kill me.

I knew you and Helen were both out of action for a few days but did not know it was pre-existing for you. I am feally happy about the infection disappearing!!

Now knees are another story. My doctor told me when I can't take the pain anymore,we will do knee replacement. I told the doctor not to hold his breath til he sees me again. I am trying to tolerate the pain be cause the alternative is kee replacement. I hope maybe your knees do not like the cold weather. I know my don't.

I tried to give my John a break from painting after 25 years in the house. :thumbsup2 We hired someone and within three months My DH painted everything the painter did. He is perfection fanatic!!! I give up and just let him paint now.:rolleyes1

20 days !!!! I would be helpless if I only had 20 days :scared1:
I'm entitled to 30 days annual leave a year, plus Bank and Public Holidays (8) and as I work for the Crown & Government I get a day off for the Queens Birthday and a half-day off for Maundy Thursday.
I also work flexible hours so if I build-up additional hours I take that off (usually before I go to the States I have built-up around six days ;)
Not including Saturdays and Sundays I make it about 40 days leave each year PLUS I usually carry a few days over from my previous years' entitlement.

On the cruise it was me who was bed-bound for the two days not Helen - she even went to Palo's for our Brunch reservation on her own:sad2: .

When I saw the surgeon in 2006 he wanted to do a knee replacement in the future but the surgeon I saw last month is only talking about going-in for another look :goodvibes
I feel the pain in my knee quite badly in this current cold weather (heatwave today - it's 9oC  ) but the pain is almost non-existant on holiday in Florida.

Ohh, dinner is coming - got to go.....

My DH would love having your schedule!!!! He gets 20 vacation day, 8 holidays, one floating holiday, and 2 personal days. He works lots of overtime, he gets nothing!!!!!! The good thing is he has unlimited sick days so when he was healing from open heart surgery, he got paid for the entire 6 weeks at full pay.

Heard through grapevine that Helen was sick on the ship too.Not every rumor is correct.:rotfl2: It is amazing that in Florida my knees never bother me or the entire time on the Cruise. I know the pain is not in my mind, as the Doctor confirms my knees are in bad shape. It is that pixiedust: magic that only can be found in WDW ,DCL, and DL.

How is Alex doing???? I have not heard much of what he has been up to.:)

I just checked with Helen and she told me that she was exhausted on one of the days I was ill (her ME) and she seems to think she had a slight cold. She reckons I was sleeping so much at the time I may not have noticed.:confused3

As regards sick leave I am entitled to 6 months on full-pay and then six months on half-pay. I have only has two periods of sick leave  fortunately in ten years :yay: - in 2005 for my knee operation which didn't count as it was following an incident in work and before that in 2002 when I contracted salmonella after a holiday in Spain - I was VERY ill.

Alex is fine thanks - he's been away for a week with the school in Derbyshire and went walking and caving. He's caught up with the other lessons he missed already and his choir came first in a competition last week. Nothing else I can think of at the moment and I can't ask him as he's on the phone to someone:rolleyes1 Oh, he has done one of his exams a year early and he had a grade "A Star" - amazing as I know for a fact that he didn't do any revision:sad2:
