9/7/06 10 night Wonder Southern Caribbean "Cruising in WONDERland!"

OK, I am officially getting worried about this storm. As of the 5:00 pm advisory the storm should hit land in Florida Wednesday around 5 pm just south of Fort Myers. That is just 30 miles north of us here in Naples. At this point it looks like it will be a Cat 1 and we will probably stay put with the 7 cats, 2 dogs and 1 rabbit unless I get too scared. We have weathered Cat 3's before but any hurricane is scary.

I agree with Hiyapal...it would be nice if the TA's could have a short 1 hour, don't want to work too hard, meeting onboard...during a sea day.

We are watching POTC on ABC...it was a nice surprise when we turned on the TV tonight...esp...since the Red Sox are doing so badly!

I wouldn't be dead set againts it, one bit. I've got to corner my DSM and toss him overboard! He told me something that wasn't true, I then turned around and told a client what he had told me. I then emailed him to confirm what I had been told. He was oops! Disney changed their minds! They aren't going to do as they planned! So tomorrow I have to call my client back and say oops Disney isn't going to do as they said. So just ignore the splash.



If other TA's don't know this yet Disney has opened up group space for early April and early August. They have NEVER done this before. I've got the dates, if you want them. Just pm me and I'll let you have them.

Sandy-Congrats! My friend is pregnant too and just found out she is having a boy. After 3 girls they finally got their boy! The cruise will be over before you know it and then you can devot all your time to the new grandbaby.

I have an early flight too (6:40am) leaving California, but I have a short layover in phoenix before hitting MCO. We are flying out the night before and staying one night at disneyworld. We did a texas cruise once where the weather was so bad they deverted us and made us sit on the tarmac for an hour. (They wouldn't let us off the plane. We didn't have any more drinks or toilet paper!) When a man got in an argument with a flight attendant they finally told the airport people let us off or send us up! After that we were finally able to take off. They actually held the ship since there were so many flight delays. We landed at 4pm in Houston for a ship that was supposed to leave at 5pm. (if you ever sailed out of Galveston it is like Port Canaveral where it is far from the airport.) This was pre 9/11 (now that guy would have probably been arrested.), but we learned always go early. We did a hawaiian cruise recently and we didn't go early, there wasn't any problems, but that didn't stop us from being worried the whole time. We also make sure now we have that extra day for a buffer. Good luck to those of you going on the 7th!

We live about 15 miles from the beach. None of the shelters will allow pets so I'm not sure where we can go.
I'll keep an eye on the storm and keep everyone posted.

My DH freaked out when I called him Grandpa...he said he wanted to be called Papa... I told him he may not have a choice if the baby decides on something else! LOL My kids call my mother Mamaw and that is what I'm hoping that I will be called also, ...but we'll see. I know first hand that kids pick your name as I called my grandmother GENGO!

Sandy,that is so strange. My DH wanted to be called papa
too. My DGD first called him papa at 13 months old but changed to call him poppy and that is what she has called him for the last 9 months. Please have a safe flight from me early. I know things will get hectic for you with packing and leaving early.

I thought I would get everyone in the mood......

The pictures did get me in the mood. I got tingles thinking about pirate night.

I hope Ernesto will be long gone by the 5th. Pack by next weekend. I have everything out on an extra bed just waiting to be put into suitcases.

Just got back from another shopping spree with DD and DF Jennifer...

and I have MORE GREAT NEWS!!!!

DF Jennifer found out today that SHE is pregnant!

She is my dd best friend and like a second daughter to our family... so this is doubly great news!

I just don't know how much more happiness I can stand!

Now I have to buy 2 of everything!!!

I will be here with a few of you on the boards til September 7. We are leaving
for the airport at 4:00am on that morning. Our flight is 7:00am. I can't sleep on planes and never could. HiYaPal had the right idea. A nap might be the first thing I do on ship.

Did you know you can tell if someone is signed onto the boards by the dot in the lower left hand corner? If it is grey, they are not signed on. If it is Green, they are.

Congrats on the other new baby! Half of my cousins (3 of them) just had babies this year. (One in March, one in June and one in July.) My cousins were so happy since all of them will be close enough in age to grow up together. They are all girls too. We all went out today and it was so fun (and exhausting) to shop and have lunch together. it made me want one too! i have to finish school first though so maybe I'll make it for the second round!

We leave Friday! I am so excited... it is going to be a long week. Work Monday. State fair on Tuesday ( we are taking my friend's 13 year old daughter to see Poison!!) and then the rest of the week is going to dragggggg

Alex, Did you allow one bottle a day for 21 days of your cruise. That was smart planning. I can not imagine lifting 10 or 11 bottles of wine in each suitcase.

I was just curious. Have you cruised on other ships? I know I love DCL. My first cruise was on the Magic and my second will be on the Wonder. I just wish the Wonder would have the large movie screen like the Magic got when it dry-docked last year. I loved watching movies uder the stars.

We have been on other cruise lines, Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. We still enjoy DCL the most. The suit cases we use for wine have wheels, so it's just the lift on to the security scanners that are tough. We drive to the port so no problems with the airlines.

We are looking forward to the watching movies under the stars for the Med repo cruise. It has to be MAGICal. Alex

Okay, today I didn't even attempt to try and read all the pages that I must.

Rick and Carol - We will be thinking of you, hoping Ernesto doesn't bother you and leave you alone.

Congrats Sandy on the not one but 2 pregnancies in your family. That will be so exciting for the 2 girls to be pregnant together.

Finished magnets and T-shirts this weekend. Now that's left is packing and trying to sleep with all the excitment.

CONGRDULATIONS SANDY!

We are fortunate to have 3 grand children and I have to share a Grandparent story with you so you can get even more excited for what the future will bring. On Saturday we took our family to the Magic Kingdom. We sent our DS, DIL, DD, and DGS off as a group and took our 2 1/2 yo DGS with us. He loves trains. We rode the monorail, then we rode the train around the MK (twice) and he got to be the guest conductor. We stood in the back of the last car with the conductor and she put the microphone by him and told him to say "all aboard". As a train nut he had heard that before (Thomas the train probably) and clearly said all aboard. They announced his name and age, and everyone on the train clapped. We did toon town, rode it's a small world, ate popcorn, then rode the monorail again and got to be in the front car with the monorail operator. His feet didn't touch the ground for the entire day he was so excited. His grandparents were excited too because they live in Pensacola we we only get to see him 3-4 times per year.

If we knew grandchildren were so much fun we would have had them first. Alex
