Most of the airlines will allow you to ship alcohol in your checked luggage (I personally checked Southwest's site--OK), but it is against state and Fed law to ship to FL.

I'm wondering (now that I am thinking about it) if this is only for Liquor stores. And not *for personal use* only.
I may check into that.....

If you do put the wine in the checked in luggage I highly suggest putting it in a large plastic bag before wrapping it will.

Amlee,

You should be OK as long as you have a travel letter from your doctor stating it is a medical device. They shouldn't count it as a carry-on if you bring the briefcase.

I have to travel with a CPAP machince for sleep apnea. It can't be checked as luggage. I never had a problem until last year I was flying out of Dallas on AA and they gave me a hard time--in first class, no less! There was plenty of room! I now have a travel letter, but Southwest has never asked to see it.

Well snot! If I can't ship the wine, I guess I'll have to check it also. Zip-lock bags will become my new best friend.

Yesterday, I went to the doctor and they put me on this electrionc thingy that attaches to my back by two patches. That thing is wired to a little computer type thing that attaches to my belts or clips to my shorts. They gave me a medicial card so I can fly with it, but YAY! It comes with a huge briefcase thing that has all the patches and charger. I've decided I'm going to ship the briefcase thing with our water and such. But I'm not sure how much trouble I'm going to have getting through with that thing attached to me. Add to it, my body brace. Oh yeah I'm going to have loads of FUN! :cool1:

I've called Disney, since I want get a cabin assigned to me until I get to the ports. Some one is going to call me on Monday to see what can be done. But this thing straps to a belt that goes around my waist. It's about the size of a small cellphone and has wires hanging from it to the patches attached to my back. :rotfl2: With all the threats going on. It will be interesting to see how it's taken with the security. I've got a friend that is head of security at Salt Lake City airport. I'm going to give him a call and see what he suggest for me to do. He's got me out of a jam before.

Hi Chipper ****** Its your table mate from Illinois . You will be right down the hall from us. I guess you answered a question I had. You are flying out the night before. We are flying out 7 am the morning of the cruise. :thumbsup2 Are flying out of Ohare? :confused3 We have a return flight at 4 on Sept. 17. This will give us some extra time just in case. :teeth:

Celia******* You are making me jealous going to get a Mickey fix. I wish it was that easy for us who live up north.

Phoohluv2u****Where have you been? I had not used my sewing machine in months except to make my fish extender. Post a picture. ::yes::

Hi Linda***It was really nice talking to you. :)

Has anyone use something called Wrinkle Release? I HATE ironing and I know lots of things will be wrinkled. Does this stuff work?????
I ironed on the cruise last year and I am trying to avoid doing this again. With all the heavy bottles and toiletries, my all cotton clothes are going to be a mess. :rotfl2:

I can NOT express to you how much I love my Downey Wrinkle Remover!! I hate to iron with a passion and refuse to do it. It's amazing how it works. I have my clothes ironed before I go. When I get my luggage I unpack and spray everything done. I then hang it up or put it up. It helps some to shake the clothes out when you spray it or to rub your hands down the clothing.

But again  IT!

My mother irons everything, everyday! I finally convinced her to try it. She went last week and bought her some for their up coming cruise.

First the Good News - I spoke to our airline today and they said that since people are prohibited from bringing certain items in their carry-on; they are allowing passengers to check an extra bag! But they are not increasing the weight limit for any of the bags. But this means that you could pack a box that simply has wine and toiletries and check it in as baggage. You wouldn't have to worry about the wine damaging your clothes. A local wine store could probably even give you one of those boxes and special wine bottle shaped styrofoam for packing it. You should of course check with your own airline for their new policy.

Now the bad news. We went to our state fair today and tried about 9 different made in Wisconsin wines in the wine tasting pavilion...poor us! ;) But...we didn't find a single one we would make any of you drink. Yuck! Cranberry, Blueberry, Pineapple ...people make wines out of anything here. :stir: So then we tried some other wines (actually made out of grapes) ...they were still terrible...so, if it is all the same with the rest of you...we think we'll bring wine NOT made in Wisconsin!!!

micmse2003***** I'm leaving out of the other airport. couldn't pass up the great rate. DH will take me to it and then go back to work :sad2:

We brought the Downy with us on a cruise, packed it very carefully, (did not put it in a bag) trail of Downy thru the airport as we left the plane. So I can't tell you how it worked. It went into the garbage in SF. :rotfl:

If the rules are correct I am probably not bringing the wine I bought from the local winery. I am alittle leery of packing wine into a checked bag. We did that on our honeymoon***** got to the airport in Chicago and there was a trail of some very good wine following us from the baggage claim. :confused3

Amlee***** I called Disney and that is how I found out my cabin assignment otherwise I probably would not know until I got to pier.

Tinkerme1***** I am so jealous of you going to Disneyland to get a quick fix.
You know that if aliens were reading this thread they would think we were talking about drugs. Well it is a drug but it is a good kind of drug. :thumbsup2

It was great talking to you, too! Reliving those old TDS days!

Since I'm going on a TA rate, I can't get a room assigned until I get to the ship.

What I figure they will do is let me send it general address to the ship with my name and sail date. Then I can go to guest services and pick it up. Or I just talked to SWA and I can check a third suitcase. I've got a rather large rolling cooler that I can check with my wine, drinks and such. That way if it breaks none of my clothes will get ruined. I will just carry-on the medical briefcase.

I don't really care as long as I get on the ship!!

We know there are at least three of us on this cruise...Does or has anyone else worked for the mouse? :smickey: If so, what did you or what do you do? Are you breaking out the Company D wear for the cruise or are you going incognito pirate: ?

Well...I was a cast member at The Disney Store in Nashua, NH and then transferred when they remodeled the Burlington, MA store. I worked there from 94-98 (while in college). I know it isn't DL or WDW, but we were still cast members. :teeth:

Does anyone know if there is a laundry on deck 8?? I know there is one on 7, but can't find anywhere if there is one on 8 or not.

If there is..do you know about where.

Thanks!!

I just checked out your photo album of your last trip on the Wonder...it looks great. I can't wait!

Dh says *Bring Cheese!* :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When my dad goes to Wisconsin (I can't remember why he goes but, he goes about once a yr) he always brings us cheese. :teeth:

Thank you so much for the laugh this evening!

You won't get an argument from me or micmse2003! Remember TDS was the only magic that some people will ever experience!
I worked nine years between two stores...one in Indiana and one in Wisconsin. Micmse2003 and I talked on the phone the other night about all of the stuff that used to happen at the store before it became a "toy shop". I left before it it was sold - just shy of my getting my castle pin. It was great fun to hear how similar all the stores were run...though I am not surprised.

Thanks! I was looking at it the other day and was like I can not wait to get back on that ship.

I've got to upgrade my account so I can add more pictures to it. :surfweb:
