9/28/13. Disney Wonder 7 night Bahamian out of Galveston.

Hi - My husband and I are leaving our kiddos at home and cruising ALONE for the first time ever. Can we still participate in the FE on this cruise? Sounds really fun and something I'd enjoy, just not sure if there's an age limit?

Yes, all ages are welcomed to join our FE. I'm a firm believer that Disney magic is for everyone, not just kids. :thumbsup2

Please post more here or visit our facebook group...we'd love to get to know you more! Details in my siggy if you haven't already found our info post.

FE Update:

Group A will remain as is, with no addition.

Group B is currently at 20 cabins. I will close this group at 30 cabins or August 17, whichever comes first. If necessary, I will create Group C.

If you are contacting me via facebook, please be patient. I often forget to check the "other" inbox for messages from non-friends, and I can't do it from my phone. I'm trying to get better, promise. :thumbsup2

A question from a first time cruiser... We can book our excursions July 15 now do we have to pay those off when we book them or at the end of the cruise? I've read that ppl cancel there activities or switch them around will we be out that money?

If you book through DCL then the excursions are charged to your stateroom when you get on board. Anything that you cancel or change between now and sailing won't have any penalty. I believe you can only change things online up to 3 days (maybe it's 2 - I'm forgetting) prior to sailing. :goodvibes Also, if for some reason the excursion is cancelled or changed due to circumstances beyond your control after we get onboard, like bad weather etc., the charges are refunded back to your stateroom. :thumbsup2 For example, we booked the 2 person jet ski tour at CC one time. We picked the earliest time available, but they decided due to bad weather that they were going to start the tours up later in the day. We elected to cancel, as we didn't want to interrupt our day badly enough to reschedule, and so they happily refunded our money.

The summer seems to be going by very quickly. I am very ready to get onto the Wonder :hyper: We will have sailed on all 4 DCL ships on this cruise. :cool1:

I think I signed my family up for Group B. Is there any way to verify this? Is there a separate site or group list for me to go to? Sorry for all the questions :) We are so excited to go on our first cruise and to introduce our little ones to the magic of Disney...but we are a little lost. We are just looking for what comes next and the best way to stay connected.

Thanks so much,
Brooke(Mommy of the Mahaffeyclan)

Here's the link to the spreadsheet. There are tabs at the bottom left for each group.

If you need to find it again, it is in post 62 (link in my signature) and also in the files section of our facebook group. Our facebook group is probably the best way to stay connected, so if you haven't yet, hop on over and join. That link is also in post 62. :thumbsup2

I LOVE that DCL does this. We have a RCCL cruise booked for June 2014 and have already paid for some excursions. They are refundable, but I hate having hundreds of dollars tied up like that. It is a Norway cruise with some amazing, once in a lifetime type excursions for us, so I don't want to wait and miss out.

On the bright side, previous cruise status has nothing to do with booking, so I CAN book what I want now and guarantee our spots. The early bird gets the worm with Royal Caribbean.

We did our 1st cruise for our 10th Wedding Ann on the Magic out of PC and fell in LOVE with cruising. :lovestruc So we have made the most of DCL being in Galveston, that's for sure. :rotfl: I keep getting "sticker shock" when I look at the cruises out of PC. :scared1:

I agree, I also love the fact that you don't pay for your excursions until your actual cruise. Your cruise to Norway in June next year sounds great - what a wonderful time of year to go! :goodvibes It's nice that you can book your excursions without having to have prior cruise status though. Rumor is that DCL will be adjusting theirs, it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

So we are going to be doing the long drive from California to Texas has anyone else done that road trip? What is the best time to leave to try and avoid traffic? We r hoping to do non stop

I never did the California drive but I did the Texas to Florida drive. Drive to Florida from TX is about 17 to 18 hours, I think Cali is a little more. Give yourself enough time for rest breaks. I stayed overnight (2 nites) and enjoyed the sites if you can get the extra time off work. I never drove at night. Started bout 6 am and stopped at 6 pm give or take a half hour. Mapquest is the good place to plan your trip, gives you fuel cost, restaurants, hotels etc. hope this helps. Hope to meet y'all on the cruise.

My DH has done LA to CA (Bakersfield) a few times many years ago. It's a LONG drive across Texas and to do it nonstop would be really rough. He has done nonstop but with 3 or 4 drivers. I would plan on taking a break at Fort Stockton for sure. You won't encounter too much traffic coming through Houston on that Saturday morning.

My advice is to try and allow yourselves some breaks. That is a really long road trip with a really full day on the ship that first day. If you can get some sleep that Friday night or early Sat morning you will probably feel better for it in the long run.

I understand cramming every hour into a vacation that you can though, we are experts at that. :-)

Hey all! Let's meetup on ship and put names to faces! (Group A & B :) )

I propose that we meet on Embarkation Day at 3:00pm at Goofy's Galley, Deck 9 Aft, next to Mickey's Pool! Goofy's will have soft serve ice cream, fresh fruit and other snacks available.

Muster is usually at 4:00pm on Embarkation Day, with events right after.

Please let me know here, or PM me, if there is any other suggestion/objection to this time and place!

Looking forward to meeting everyone for an ice cream social!

Counting down the minutes until I can make Reservations, Book excursions, etc. 49 minutes! WooHoooo!!!!!
