Morning everyone. Hope you all are having a Blessed Day!!:littleangel:
I am still making magnets for our door.(i think you will not even see a door):rotfl: We are so excited with our FE that Jan made. She is the best..
We worked on FE gifts all last night. It was alot of fun.
My packing should be down by Wednesday.
I like getting to port early just to see and meet all our Dis family.
See you real soon:mickeyjum

DH wants to know what the men are packing to wear for dinner
I think we really overpacked

I'm taking a blazer, dress shirt, and dress pants for Palo. Not wearing a tie. Since the girls want to do room service one night, we're going to do that and stay in to eat on dress up night.

Mack will probably take khakis and sport shirts for the dining room, and he'll take a jacket, dress shirt, and tie for Palo. He'll take his pirate outfit for that night.

We are soooo close now, everyone! FE gifts are finished and just need to work on more of the stuff for our door. My mom set up pedi appointments for myself and my DD (age 6) yesterday. It was my DD's first pedi and we went to a special place where they painted a Minnie on one big toe and Mickey on the other! She is too excited!

Not sure if I can find a green lei this week...might have to do a multi-colored one unless someone knows where they are selling green ones!

For my husband I am packing him a suit, with different shirts/ties to mix it up ~ I figured that way we wouldn't have to pack as much ... it probably comes out to be the same though :confused3 I tend to over-pack so this time I am trying to go lighter.

-Is anyone making their own autograph book. I was thinking about it but not sure how much time I really have, or can I find one at the port.

- Anyone have any suggestions on how I can make an autograph board to stick on our door, I want something that folks can leave a little note or say hi. or sign, I want to be able to have a little keep-sake to bring back, but be able to adhere to the door. Any thoughts.

- I know this sounds crazy but is there pop-corn on board... DD3 loves the stuff, and thinks she needs it every time she watches a movie.

- I have read so much about tipping the room services staff and this is a non-tipped position) what is a good tip to give them?

Thanks..... :cheer2:

There should be some for sale on board, or you can just buy a small inexpensive one. I was at Michael's this week, and in the dollar section, they had small journals with Disney princesses, Cars, Toy Story, etc... on the cover. It even had a little pen with it; however, some say the characters have an easier time signing with a Sharpie or other marker.

You could do something as simple as a scrapbook page attached to your door with magnets. Or you could put magnet tape on the back of a canvas in the size you prefer, and you have instant wall art. You could also use a piece of foam board or poster board attached with magnet tape - simply put Autographs or Notes or something like that at the top of it.

We have gone to the movies and not seen the popcorn others have mentioned, but we went to Preludes (a snack/bar area outside the theater) and bought a bag of caramel popcorn.

Just keep an envelope of singles in a drawer. I think most folks give $2 - $4 depending on what they order.

Thanks..... :cheer2:

5 more work days for most of us folks - we can do this! Next weekend will be here before we know it!!!!

Mimi-I just knew you would be able to provide some guidance..... you are the best. I hear by deem you the Fairy God-Mother of Breezin to the Bahamas...:wizard: you have been such a wonderful help and full of good information and tips...... Thank you so much....

Just realized that I need to be online Sunday for work exactly at 1pm eastern time for approximately 30 minutes or so. I wasn't planning on bringing my laptop nor iPad on the cruise, but only my iPod Touch for my music.
Will I be able to get online with my iPod Touch while we are onboard at Port Canaveral? Or do I have to use one of their computers on the ship? Will the computer center even be open at 1pm? My only other option would be to find a Starbuck or other place and pay for the Wifi there, but that would mean we would have to board the ship later too :(

Oh goodness, you're far too kind! Glad I could help!

Hey everyone,

Just got back from my dad's memorial service...are exhausted, worn out but safe and sound in Indy. Still seems surreal that he's gone. It was a fabulous day though...hard one...but he would have loved it! I mean LOVED it!

Dad was an ASA softball player for YEARS (I cut my teeth on the ballfields of southern Indiana) and so many people he used to play with...actually from little league to ASA years were there. I think he also dated every lady that came yesterday.:rotfl: Everytime I turned around someone was saying, "Your dad was my eighth grade boyfriend" or "I dated your dad in..." I finally started the conversations with a handshake and "Did you date my date too?":rotfl2: Made the night easier!

Sidenote on a small "cool" thing that happened...An ASA umpire came and presented all of us kids and grandkids with an official ASA flipping coin to commerate dad. He said he was the best outfielder he had ever seen. He's supposed to be inducted into the Indiana softball Hall of Fame this coming March. Wish he could have seen that happen.:sad1:

So.....a big THANK YOU for the prayers (again) and the well wishes and we can't forget the pixie dust!!!:goodvibes I wouldn't have survived without all of them!:grouphug:

This morning we went to the ballpark and sprinkled dad's ashes smack dab in center field on the field where he most often played. It was SUCH a fitting end to his life...all of his kids, grandkids and ex-wives :rolleyes1 were in attendance! ;) He would have been proud and I felt he was looking down on all of us with his big bright grin saying..."Good job guys!":thumbsup2

Anywho...I cannot believe we are leaving this Saturday!!!! So much to do before then. Pray I remember to pack everything! So excited. See you on Sunday everyone!!!!! Woo hoo!:woohoo:

TJ (oh..and Bill..he really does exist):rotfl:

Jen...are you watching your Manning boys? I know you are! We are too! Sure hope Peyton comes out on top tonight! Fingers crossed! But I'm scared after the bloodbath of a game we had last week against the Texans.:rolleyes1

Gotta love all the colleges games in full swing (wow...DENARD ROBINSON...don't even like Michigan but I smell a trophy coming his way????).

And like many of you...we are in the middle of some great high school football games here in central Indiana. My nephew is a class 3A (out of 5) head coach and he's 5-0 right now! He won a state title as a player and we are praying for one this year as a coach. Would be soooo cool!:dance3:

In our little town we have two high schools...only four years ago it was one BIG high school. So yes, the rivalry is BIG. At their faceoff this year we had over 7000 people. It was standing room only...about 5 or 6 deep all around the fence. It was CRAZY! One of the most electric atmospheres I've EVER seen.:scared1:

Okay...I'll shut up!

Love football season!!!!!:thumbsup2

TJ - Glad you're home safely and that things went as well as it sounds they did. I know it is a surreal feeling. What a wonderful tribute to your dad to have the the coins presented! And yes, the sprinkling sounds very fitting! It seems it turned into a real celebration of his life!

Have a good week! It will be busy, I'm sure.

Does everyone have a packing list????? My husband laughingly told me tonight, his goal is to not have to stop at the drug store before we go to the port. We've had to do that - had to have an Rx transferred down because I forgot to take it with me. That is NOT what I want to spend next Sunday doing!

I found one source that says the Internet Cafe is not open until 1/2 hour after sail away. I asked some friends and one told me her husband was able to log on his own computer and surf the internet before sail away. You might want to call the cruise line and make sure if it is mandatory that you're on, so you won't have to leave the ship and come back or board late.

Popping back in after what seems like MONTHS away (probably because it HAS been months :scared1:)

Thanks for all the pixie dust sent my way....the job I really wanted in June finally came thru in September & I started on the 7th

I've been super busy between school, kids, and work....so have woefully fallen behind on all internet related-situations, and we are very much looking foward to getting in some rest & relaxation.

Gabe has decided that potty-training is NOT for him, so while I :love:the castmembers at Flounders, we have had to adjust our budges and our expectations since instead of being able to get chunks of time at the club we are severely limted by the availability of hours.

We are arriving in Cocoa Beach sometime after 3 on Friday (decided to work half a day since I'm new and all) and instead of relying on hotel shuttles we are biting the bullet and parking at the terminal. We plan on being there ohhhhhhhh 10ish. lol.

Last year was SO much more organized....I already had all of our clothing packed, all the FEs made (even though I forgot them at home :headache:) had pre-paid our tips and excursion, etc. So far Danny, Gabe & Sarah have gotten their pre-trip haircuts......and I know where the suitcases are..sigh...cant wait to be back on that beautiful boat and watching the sun come up over the horizon.

Everyone have a safe and sane Monday!
