9:25 AM Phase A For Magic Kingdom

My husband's cousin texted me from in line to get in. I didn't want to burst her bubble and tell her it was going to be absolutely crazy there today.

I wonder if there are people who head there on a day like today and have no clue how insane it's going to be. I suppose there must be.

I know it's Epcot, but Soarin had a 220 minute way about 40 minutes ago.

It's 10:30, and according to security by the front gate, the park is already at level 3, or something similar. They very specifically said: resort guests only.

Yes. My brother is in Orlando visiting his in laws and decided to take my niece to MK on Saturday. They were turned away...I think he said they had already bought their tickets when he found out, so they went to Epcot. My kids are now worried that's going to happen to us when we go next month! Lol

An almost 4 hour wait for one ride? No way in heck I'd be in that line for a ride today. LOL!

I have a co-worker who wanted to go for Christmas to New Years for next year. She said "It shouldn't be busy because everyone is going to be at home with their families". I showed her some YouTube clips and her face turned white as a ghost!

BTW, anybody take any pictures of today's MK chaos?

I knew it was going to be crowded when I went the first time on NYE.

However, when I got to Epcot that morning, and saw the sea of humans waiting to get in, THAT is when I knew what crowded actually means.

It is really hard to imagine, even if you are expecting it. Pictures don't do it justice.

She's lucky she's on line. I've seen cars backed up on the highway with people outside of them because traffic is at a dead standstill, waiting to get into the parking lots.

Everyone believes that lol! I had to explain that to my family this year when they decided to come for Christmas week the LAST week of NOVEMBER! They thought they'd have the park to themselves and I had to pop their bubble.

Every year one of my neighbors said she wanted to take her kids to Disney for Christmas because it would be empty then.
I told her it was the most crowded time of year but if she wanted my help, I could help her plan the trip and put together touring plans so she would still have alot of fun.

Two years ago she went without having me help her. She went with no ADR's, no plans at all. She came back and said it was awful - horrible - a nightmare and she would never go back. She has moved since then and we didn't keep in touch but I've no doubt she has never gone back.

So long story short - yup, there are people who go without a clue.

Earlier, just for kicks, I checked the MDE app for ride wait times:
7DMT:160 min
Space: 150 min
HM:90min
BTRR: 130min
The best: Small World:65min

I feel so bad for the poor unsuspecting visitors. Can you just imagine having the "no one will be there during the holiday" mindset and wham you get to that mess? :lmao: Sure hope they can all make the most o their trips.

...and yet...it is inevitable that someone will start a thread that "it wasn't bad".
As I write this...TT=220; Soarin'=190 and Living With the Land=70.

I'm here now. It is quite busy. I think when people are posting saying "it isn't that bad", they mean it isn't that bad being here. We aren't having issues getting around the park and you are squashed between people everywhere you go. Walking around I can tell there are more people than usual but it's not having an impact on my day or enjoyment of the park. I don't think people mean the waits for rides because yes those are quite long. We aren't doing many, just our fast pass reservations which are basically walk on for us. If you are someone who gets to Disney frequently and don't care about going on rides just having a relaxing day at the park it's not that bad. Someone on a first trip or who barely gets here prob should rethink it. But we have had an amazing trip.
