Hi everybody! At this time, two weeks from now, I will be getting ready to meet some of you at Ohana! :)

All the meet times sound good to me. But no 'if it rains' Karen! I don't even want to think like that lol. I want perfect weather!!! At the parks, I don't mind if it rains because almost everything is indoors anyway, but not for our cruise!

Chris, welcome to our thread! I have a few extras for the FE so if you want in, let us know!

It's so close!!! Karen, I can't believe you leave on Saturday!

yay, i've just done a mountain of ironing, so i can start packing tomorrow!
gary's hopeless bless him! i said to him before he went: there's free laundry facilities at both hotels (i dont want to take too many clothes as we always end up buying more over there) pack light, pack maybe 6-7 days worth of clothes, and we can just keep washing everything.
well i went upstairs earlier to get it all so i can iron it, and he's put aside 12 shirts. we're only going for 16 days for goodness sake! he put in 2 of the same shirt! i've taken some of them out, the duplicate shirt for one, and his divequest t-shirt, i told him not to pack that, as we're doing it again on the 18th so he gets 2 new ones.
seriously, he's worse than i am for clothes, he always ends up packing way too much, and doesnt wear half of it. at home (no exaggeration) he's got about 3 times as many clothes as i do!! :rotfl:

so i've done a bit of editing his packing!

jenny, i dont want it to rain either :scared1: but i thought we'd better come up with an alternative, or we'd end up missing each other. or very soggy, one of the two!

I've started thinking about what I'm going to pack for Universal. We have a 'business casual' code except for when we're at the parks. I picked up a bunch of travel size things at Target yesterday. I'm just going to bring a carry-on since it's only 3 days.

For Disney...I have no idea what I'm packing lol. I'm going to have to go through everything when I come back from Universal and figure it all out! I don't want to forget anything!

i think i've decided that i'm taking our 2 big suitcases, i'm then going to take one of the small cases (technically hand luggage size), but on the way out i'll put that inside one of the larger cases. will probably put the FE bags in it so i can keep them all together. that way we've got a spare case for the way back in case we end up buying more stuff.
on the way back i intend buying another big fig so that'll be the 4th piece of luggage on the way back.

WHAT i'm actually packing, i have no idea! but at least i've decided HOW to pack it!

i wish i was as organised as lainey, but i always end up leaving packing to the last minute!

Lainey, I finished Breaking Dawn yesterday. I'm not sure about the ending...I know she tied everything up....but I just don't know. Oh, well, they were good books!

I've started doing laundry for packing. I don't have Friday off this week, because of the holiday today, and next weekend is super busy...so i'm going to have to back at night because I am going to stay at a hotel by the airport the night before we leave...next Thursday!! I can't believe it's so close!!

i cant remember who (if anyone?) is renting DVC points, but i've found this via another forum:
http://mouse owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22856 (take out the gap between mouse and owners and scroll down to post number 8 for the link)

the one thing i was a bit worried about at first with renting the points, is that there was no way other than my printed confirmation, to check my reservation. i couldnt do it online, as they need to be retrieved via the DVC website, and us non-DVC people cant get to it.
but i found the above link, which allows you to access the online check in area of the DVC resort, and do OLCI. i'm not doing it after all that though because it won't recognise my phone number (its got too many digits, it confuses the website!!) so i have to do normal check in.
but thought i'd link to it anyway incase anyone else here was renting points (i knew there was talk about other people doing it earlier, but not sure who actually rented any in the end) and wanted to check their ressie.

i'm now under 100 hours to go!! 93 hours and counting!! lol

ps: not sure why but i've just decided to price up my 8 night SSR stay on disney's website, by renting the points i'm paying $1119 including the dining plan. the WDW site lists it as $3308 :scared1:
and the 4 nights at AKV is costing me $672, WDW site says $2337!
looks like i got an even better deal than i though eh!

Karen, I'm using my bigger suitcase for the land portions of the trip and a smaller suitcase (carry-on size) for the cruise. I'm putting the FEs in a tote bag and bringing them onboard with me. I can deal with carrying them around for an hour or two. Since we're driving down, I'm putting the things I need for those overnights in a duffle bag. I'm trying to keep it organized so I don't have to bring all of these bags everywhere I need to go. Now, if only I knew what I was actually going to pack...

Mary, I didn't like the way Breaking Dawn ended either. I thought it was kind of lame...

Oh GRRRRRRRRRRRRR can I tell you all how irritated I am?!? I wasn't at work last week after Monday, because of a conference, and I left the temp with letters to fold. Now, granted, it was a lot, and it is a very boring job (I should know, i've been doing it 2 years!), but STILL. Only half were done when I got here this morning. I have already folded ALL of them and now he's got to stuff them, but I guess I'll have to help because they are dated August 28, and now it is 10 days later and they are STILL here!! So irritating!! :headache: Now that i've vented...;)

I think i'm going to ship down my FEs, with the exception of the alcohol in the little bottles, of course. I went a wee bit overboard and there is too much to back in my bags!! They are cute though!! :goodvibes

i think i'm just going to stuff all my FE stuff into the smaller case and then i dont have to worry about them, they can just stay in the case til the cruise!

well i've finally started packing. well kinda........

i've just packed all the FE gifts, the FE itself and my door magnets into the smallest of the 3 cases i'm taking, and it only just fit. i've had to kinda squish the FE bags a bit to get them into the case, so i apologise if they're a bit squashed when you get them!
i also tried to fit my FE bags into the FE that donna and bob made me, and realised that it doesnt fit. at all. ie: i nearly broke it....
i know a few people have said that they've made FE gifts that are a bit on the large side, so i'm also going to hang up the tote bag i used as a FE last year. i'll put the pretty one on the front of course :) but i thought i'd better be practical too......
i've packed a couple of carrier bags too incase i have trouble fitting the gifts into your FEs, that way i can hang the carrier bags off the fish.

sorry, sane thinking-out-loud moment over..... lol

Good for you for starting to pack. I'm probably not going to be able to do that til next Thursday or Friday night. I have to pack for Universal first, then wash some of that stuff, and then pack for Disney. I can pack up the FEs but that won't take me very long, as they're going in a beach tote. I have all my documents in folders next to my bed. I split it up between the land portion and the actual cruise itself. And I have a folder of the TA certificates needed for the hotels we're staying at for the way down and back. I would have definitely forgotten them if I hadn't put them there and would've ended up paying full price for these hotels. Right now, I'm getting them for like $50/nt so...that would be a huge difference, I'm sure!

It won't hit me until after I get back from Universal and I'm like 'Oh crap! We leave in 2 days!'

but on the up side, you've only got 4 days til your fam!!

I'm excited for the fam but not nearly as excited as I am for Disney. My roommate just told me that she doesn't plan on going on any rides while we're in Universal. :scared1:

LOL, she was all about the rides until she went to Six Flags this past weekend. There's a ride there, Rolling Thunder, which I affectionately call the 'Death Trap.' It's an old, rickety wooden roller coaster. She said after that she's done with rides. I said she doesn't have to go on the coasters at Universal but she has to go on everything else. Six Flags does not touch Universal in terms of rides. Me? I plan on going on Spiderman 340823 times.

you mean you won't go on it the 340,824th time??

i'm sooooo bored. gary needs to come back, thank goodness i've got the dog here or i'd be going insane right now.
