Oh wow, that's awesome that we'll be at the same resort! We're in the Jambo villas. I'm so excited! I want to join DVC one day but it is not financially possible right now. Congrats on joining. Hopefully I will be a member one day!

Have you gotten a cruise packet yet? Maybe they'll assign you a cabin then? I hope this cruise is better than the last. It's no fun to be sick on vacation!

I haven't stayed at a Disney Deluxe resort since Kelly was around 4....and that was only because my parents paid for it. We stayed at the Contemporary, in the building they tore down to make Bay Lake Tower. It was so cool staying where you could hop on and off the monorail!

I am really looking forward to being at AKL, it's such a cool place. Although I am glad that we have a rental car because it will be easier to come and go without having to wait with the masses for a bus. When Bob and I were at the Caribbean Beach Resort in December, we always ended up waiting a long time for the bus. The trip before that at Pop we pretty much walked out of the room, filled our cups, and by the time we got to the bus stop, the bus was there. I swear that trip we almost never waited on the bus, and although it was busy we always got a seat. Still if I had to wait for a bus I would rather do it in Disney than anywhere else in the world!

I've stayed at Pop 3 times and I've never had to wait very long for a bus there. They seem to be really good about it, particularly for that resort. I've never stayed in a deluxe before so I'm way excited about staying at AKL. Joe doesn't know anything about it so he's going to be very surprised! We'll have my car too so if the bus line gets too long there or at POR, we'll just hop in the car. What's great about having a car too is if you need to get to a resort for an ADR, you don't have to worry about transferring buses!!

Well, I was all set to give the online ADR system a shot today but my client emailed me and told me she made all of the reservations for herself early this morning. So I can't really use it yet! I got into it and was playing around on it a bit and it looks pretty simple. I'm probably going to use it to make our reservations.

I can't wait until the park hours come out. Then I can finalize our itinerary and ADRs. Will they come out June 1 or do we have to wait a few days into the month? When the hours are released, the trip is that much closer!!

I'm with ya Jen! Can't wait for the park hours to come out so I can REALLY get my plan down! Right now I know pretty much WHAT I want to do, but need to nail down the order so I can figure out where to eat and when, etc. It will be soon!!

Well, I figured out (and bought stuff for) the FE gift! I'm making 1 per cabin, so you will all just have to share... LOL

I bought this yesterday:

I'm going to put it on a lanyard and use that to carry everything I need in the parks (room keys, passes, money, etc). Am I a geek that I think of these things 4+ months before our trip?? My husband just kinda looks at me and says "Ok hun.... whatever you want..."

I think I'm making one goody bag per cabin rather than individual ones. So you will have to share my FE gifts as well. ;)

I like that case! I may have to get one of those. It seems that Vera Bradley is the fashion way to go if you need a bag or anything for the parks. :rotfl: I've seen that stuff all over the DIS boards.

My DBf is the same way as your DH. He just goes with the flow!

I am going to do one bag per cabin for the FE as well....except for the kids, I am doing individual bags for them. I didn't want any of the kids to have "bag envy" :rotfl2:

I can't wait until we can make ADRs! Funny, since we have Kelly added to the mix on our trip, we actually had to add a few more ADRs than we normally would just so we could accommodate everyone's favorite places/meals. Here is is our plan so far

Sunday 27th
50's Prime Time Cafe - Early Lunch
Le Celier - Late Dinner

Monday, 28th
Teppan Edo - Dinner

Tuesday, 29th
Yachtsman - Dinner

Wednesday, 30th
Yak & Yeti - Dinner

Thursday, 1st
SciFi Dine In - Dinner

Friday, 2nd
Le Celier - Dinner

Saturday, 3rd
Kona Cafe - Dinner

Sunday, 4th
Kona Cafe - Breakfast

Personally, I am not overly fond of SciFi or 50's Prime Time Cafe, but Bob loves SciFi and Kelly loves 50's Prime Time...so I will bite the bullet and go there.:rolleyes1

ditto on the one per cabin thing, but my bags have multiple things in them so people can argue over who gets what!
i think i'm in the minority here, i havent even thought about what park and when so far!! the only thing we've definately got planned is florida mall for day one and seaworld for day two (we're hiring a car for the first 2 days so we can go off site and stock up on food and soft drinks and stuff for the room). that and epcot for the day we get off the cruise for the F&W festival.
other than that i've got no clue what to plan so far!!! it still seems so far away!
but i did get my confirmation from the travel agency i transferred my cruise booking to. and a cruise e-brochure. our final payment for the cruise is due in a month and a half :scared:

I'm throwing extra goodies into the bag that is going to a cabin with kids. That way they won't have to share or fight over anything.

So far I'm looking at -

9/20 - Early Dinner at Sci Fi

9/21 - Le Cellier Lunch

9/22 - 50s Primetime Lunch

9/23 - Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House
Ohana's Dinner

9/24 - Breakfast at Kona Cafe

9/27 - San Angel Inn Lunch and then taking advantage of the F&WF carts

9/28 - Hoop Dee Doo Review Dinner

The 21st and 23rd may be swapped, I dunno yet.
I love 50's PT but I'm not a big fan of Sci Fi. Joe loves it so I agreed to go.

No, it's not far away Karen! The park hours are going to be released in a couple weeks and we can all start making our ADRs in June. That means it's getting closer. :woohoo:

we went to sci fi on our honeymoon, it was ok but nothing memorable.
we went to 50's prime time last year and loved it! we had a great "mom" and we just loved the whole idea and fun of the place!! and gary loved the meatloaf!! (we dont have meatloaf over here, so he wanted to try it, and ended up loving it!)

i've just had an idea! :rotfl: it doesnt happen too often!!
i dont know how many people will end up joining in the FE, so i've been buying 15 of everything. i think if we dont get that many by the time we cruise i'll adapt the things in them slightly and give them to our servers and stateroom hosts. i'll make sure i put extra candy in them!!

That's a cute idea! Most of the stuff I'm getting comes by the dozen. Some things come closer to 20 I think so if anybody joins over the 12th cabin, they'll be missing out on some stuff.

i started off by buying 4 packs of 4 gift bags, so thats why i'm buying 15/16 of everything. if we get more, they'll have to get less stuff :(
i think even if we do end up with that amount of cabins, i'll still do some goody bags/candy for the CMs, they work sooo hard!

Bob loves SciFi because of the clips of the movies and eating the onion rings and the ribs. Kelly loves 50's Prime Time for the pot roast. There is really nothing that I like to eat at either place...but at least 50's Prime Time is usually a good time.

I love the fried chicken at 50s PT. Last time I was at Sci Fi, I got pasta and it was coated in garlic and cheese. It wasn't very good. We haven't been there in 3 years though so I guess we can go back. :rotfl: I saw they have reubens on the menu so I plan on ordering that. You can't really screw it up.

Don't worry, my fiance is very much, "Oh - sure, yeah - if you like it...whatever you want" about everything, including the wedding! Unless I say, "I really want your opinion on this." Then he does, in fact, take a minute to review and respond!

I think it was a good purchase!

As for dining, we live here so we'll be skipping that. But we're going to Disneyland September 8-13 so I can still appreciate everyone's excitment over booking them! I can't wait to book ours for DL in July!
