its before the sailaway party, about 4pm i think, as soon as thats over with people head up to deck for the sailaway party.

there's at least 3 of us in cat 12 GTYs, fingers crossed for upgrades!! we got a cat 9 last time :)

The plan for us is to head to Port Canaveral in the morning on Thursday, hopefully get there before noon. We are in a category 6 cabin that much I know, although I wouldn't turn down an upgrade to a category 5 to get the tiny bit of extra room in the cabin. :thumbsup2. We would be willing to meet any time the majority votes for.

i've been looking at things to do the nassau day, i was looking at breezes and sandals (the all inclusive places) but now i'm thinking theyre not that great an option, i've been looking at the activities lists and there's not much there that'll justify the price, i fancy waterskiing but i've heard its not every day, they dont include scuba diving etc....
so i've been looking around:
http://www.shoretrips.com/common/search3.asp?rcode=CAR&lcode=NAS
and i quite like the sound of this one:

thought i'd post these just in case anyone else was looking for things to do :)

Yeah, I think we are just planning on enjoying the ship while there. There just aren't any shore excursions we are interested in (with a 3 year old). Some day we'd love to do Atlantis, but not yet. I think kiddo will enjoy the Oceaner's club and we will just enjoy relaxing after several crazy days at the world.

Hey guys!! I'm up late (again) studying for my CPA. I think this will be the Norm until November!! Luckily, i've worked my schedule out so that I am on a break while in the World in September.

I went to Walmart and got 2 disposable waterproof cameras yesterday! I get so excited to get anything for vacation!! :cool1: I got the Fuji ones, they got better reviews than the Kodak ones. I thought about getting a waterproof camera, but we just got a new camera in November, so I didn't want to spend that much again.

I'm up for the meet on the ship. Just let me know when and where!! We are hoping to get to the port as soon as possible, so that we can maybe purchase an upgrade, if we don't get one from the GTY12. But I will just be happy to be on the boat if nothing else is available!!

Did you all have a good weekend?

yeah had a great weekend, didnt do much yesterday but saturday was nice, we went out to a big mall, had a nice lunch out and went bowling.
back to work today though, i'm really tired, couldnt get to sleep last night til really late.

mary, we're in a cat 12 GTY too, i'm hoping for an upgrade again (got a cat 9 last year!!) but i'll just be happy to be on the ship, we werent in the room much anyway last time.
you should look into one of the waterproof cases for your camera, i bought a dicapac for mine, its not the same as a dedicated plastic case, but its great for being able to take your own camera and not having to worry about getting it wet!

i get the idea that when we're a month out, all of us with GTYs will be religiously checking the DCL website for room assignments!!!

I'm a little nervous about using a waterproof case for my camera. With my luck, it will end up being the one bad one and it would ruin my camera!! I would be crushed, as I normally take around 1,000 pictures while at Disneyworld (even though I already have pictures of most everything there!!). I can't imagine how many pictures I will take this time, since I am staying at 3 different hotels, going to Universal, AND going on our first cruise!! Good thing I can dump my pictures onto my laptop every day and clean off my memory card!!

There is an entire thread on the cruise boards about people who booked cat 12 GTYs, what they got and when. Lately, they seem to be getting their rooms around 40ish days -- so we should start checking around August 13th or so. So good to know there are other crazy people out there besides me...:lmao:

Is there any room left on the photopass thing? I was thinking about doing it this time.

Jen, I was just reading on the Dining board that they opened up online Dining reservations to TAs today. Try it and let us know how it works!! I am very excited and curious to see how it will go. :3dglasses

Yes, there is room in the photopass share! Send me a PM with your RL email address please and I'll put your name on it. Do you know how it works? Any questions? I'll also need to know your dates that you will be using photopass. Everyone needs to upload their photopass cards before Oct 12th. Will you be able to do that?

Stacy

Stacy -- I sent you a PM. The 12th should be fine!! Yay!!

I am getting sooooooooo impatient for vacation to just get here!! It doesn't help that the weather is still kind of coldish, so it makes me want to go someplace warm even more!!

Getting ready for lunch. We are going to Friday's again. We go there a lot!! They have a special going right now, $5 for all of their salads and sandwhiches. That is cheaper than our cafeteria!!

Hi everyone!

The plan for us on the day of the cruise is to get there before noon (we wanna beat the resort buses there!) I'm up for meeting before the lifeboat drill, just name the time and place. I'm planning on going to the sailaway party. I don't want to miss that. It's our first Disney cruise, I want to see everything. I don't plan on hanging around the adult pool at all unless there's no room at the Goofy pool!

Mary, I'll have to look into that! We usually get emails from Disney regarding this stuff, I'm surprised we didn't this time. I'll let you know.

Mary, we can do it from the Disney travel agent website! I don't have any clients that can make their ADRs yet but I have one that can make them next Monday. I'll let you know how it goes!

thats cool about the online ADR thing, they've been talking about that for ages, and its nice to see they're getting somewhere with it!

yay for more people on the photopass share, i make that $16.50 each, what a bargain!!!

i've just found out my brother has got engaged! never thought i'd see that day! work's been ok all day, been sorting out the mountain of invoices that've piled up for me the last week or so, i've been doing my credit control all of last week so that kinda got left til last. but got through them all, took all day, but just got to input them tomorrow but that doesnt take any time at all.

i think the lifeboat drill starts at 4pm, but all ship services are suspended from 3.30 so people can get there on time. what does everyone think of meeting around 2.30-2.45 ish? that way people can have lunch before and we'll have enough time to get back to our rooms for the lifeboat drill?
and how does deck 10, next to outlook bar (may not be open though) overlooking the goofy pool sound? just trying to think of somewhere that'll have some seats available?

Congrats to your brother!

That sounds good to me, Karen. :thumbsup2 If I see any of you during the lifeboat drill (LAINEY) I'm making you put your lifejacket on and taking a picture. :rotfl:

o yeah i forgot you two are pretty much down the hall from each other!!! lol, it'll make an interesting photo!
yeah we'll have to have a celebratory start-of-cruise DCL cocktail at the meet up :)

Definitely! I'm sure there will be waiters walking around with trays full of drinks and we can all easily grab one. Unless we're all going to get that Goombay Smash thing Lainey was talking about!

might have to be done!!! :rotfl:

i cant wait til the holiday now, i was looking forward to our last cruise as we'd never done one before but now we're really excited about this one due to this thread!! thanks for starting an awesome thread jenny :)

:) When I first started it, I had no responses. I was like 'It can't be just me' :rotfl: I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!! I can't wait. This trip is going to be so much fun.

I'm looking at a thread about Sea Raycers. Have you ever rented one? I want to try it but not sure if I want to rent out from POR or WL. WL seems cool because you can go out near MK but there's so much ferry traffic. :scared:

go for POR. we rented a pontoon boat from there on our honeymoon, had a great time going down the river to DTD.
rented a sea raycer last time from GF, me and gary shared one, it was a nice day, but i just didnt feel at all comfortable, too choppy and too many waves from all the bigger boats, spent the whole time feeling like i was going to fall off, make it over to bay lake, but turned straight round and went back. think we'll stick to the bigger boats this time round..... i didnt enjoy it to be honest.
