9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

We've skipped mission space the last few times we've been at WDW. Joe doesn't like it at all and it's not my favorite. I'd rather go on TT or Soarin a bunch of times. I can't believe Gary likes that ride and not rollercoasters!!

AKL?? Lucky! I would love to stay there. We're staying at ASMo for a couple nights after the cruise. I'm really looking forward to it though because I've never been there!

I'm planning on buying my FE from Ebay next week. Joe and I saw one we both really liked.

i ordered mine from ebay last night, i wasnt going to bother with getting one and using a tote bag like last time but i couldnt turn it down for £4.19 including postage!

i booked 2 nights at the AKL last year as a treat for gary, we loved it there, i wish we could afford a 2 week stay there but there's no way of that, so we'll have to settle for a night or two!! i'm hoping someone comes back to me and says theres availability, that'd be great, but i'm not going to get my hopes up as there's no normal CL rooms left at AKL, so presume the DVC CL rooms will be booked too. if not we'll have to go back to the original plan of ASM!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Hope you can the room at AKL. I was thinking of maybe upgrading to a mod or possibly a deluxe because I've never stayed at one before. But it may be a little too much money so unless I get some sort of windfall, ASMo it is!

damn, someone's just checked for me and theres no availability for AKV CL. oh well, it was a long shot anyway. might be tempted by the bay lake tower MK view, but will have to think about it

savannah view AKL without the club level is 11 points for the night. bay lake tower MK view is 17 points for the night. at $10 ish per point to rent them, BLT would definately be possible.

You should do it! I'm looking into some deluxes now. Since we're not paying for dining for practically an entire week, I think I'm going to upgrade from ASMo to a deluxe and keep it a surprise for Joe!

you should, i didnt tell gary last time, it killed me to keep it a secret, but it was totally worth it! try AKL, its sooooooooo nice!

I think he's stayed at AKL before, somewhat recently too, so I want to do one that he's never been to. And it will be a treat for me as well since I've never stayed at a Deluxe.

they're nice! if you can swing it to stay club level, do it, its so nice, you get free food and drink, its nice being able to pop up to the lounge for some refreshment!

I don't think I can pull off club level. That would almost double the quote I already got for a regular room. I'm sure it's awesome though.

ok here is the pole story for you karen we were getting off the King Kong ride at universal(they no longer have it, it is now the mummy ride) and they hvae these poles running down the middle of the walkway kinda like light poles and i was not paying attention talking to my step mom. I had braces at the time also but i was walking kinda fast and i ran straight into the pole they said i did the whole comedic fall my arms flew out on either side of me and i fell backwards onto the concrete. My family told me the next day that i layed there for a little while before i opened my eyes(I dont remember anything other than hitting the pole) I woke up the next morning with cuts on the inside of my lips and a REALLY bad headache. I think i probably had a concusion b/c i still have no clue how i got up and then ended up in the hotel my family said that i didn't talk much for the rest of the day. That would be my klutziest moment(well thus far).

Just tell me what ride and greg and i will be there

Ouch! That sounds painful. We're really going to need look out for you on this ship huh? I don't want you falling overboard or anything!! Especially not on your honeymoon.

i'm still toying with the idea of renting points, cant decide between AKV and bay lake tower MK view. what would you choose?

I like the idea of having an MK view. Do they have club level rooms available at Bay Lake? I've seen pictures of the AKV rooms and they're gorgeous! I love the scene from Lion King thats depicted on the bathroom tiles. It's a tough call. I guess it depends on which park you want to be closest too.

we dont mind park wise, we're only heading over to epcot for the food and wine festival that day so bus rides dont bother us.
just read your pre-trippie, wow! congrats, its a gorgeous hotel.
i'm torn between going back to AKL, and trying BLT.
i think as we cant get club level at AKL we may be comparing it to last year all the time, and unfortunately AKL is the only DVC resort with club level.
MK view at BLT sounds cool, i love the idea of watching the fireworks from our room, but if its anything like the contemporary, the theming does nothing for me. i'd only be getting it for the view.
i dont know what to do, where would you pick?

Thanks! I'm so excited! I work in a TA and we get commission back on any trips we take and I'm sure accounting is ready to kill me right now with all the changes I've made.

I think I would stay in BLT if I were you. It's something new to experience together. If you think you're going to keep comparing AKL to how it was the last time then it may not be the best bet.

from what i remember the pole did hurt really bad and i think i had a bruise (which is nothing new to me) Yeah def watch me on the ship greg isnt klutzy like me so he should be able to keep me from falling overboard but keep your eye out for me please. well b/c of mnsshp and the emh @ AK greg and I have pretty much figured out what parks we will be at on which days
