9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

My day went by fast yesterday. I had two different people who were both at my desk for over an hour. One was a woman going to Disney World and we got caught up chatting about it. She's taking her two granddaughters and staying at AKL and she's so excited! It was so cute.

Then our RCCL rep came in and he's...annoying. And flirty. And calls me Bella. I tried hiding but it didn't work. He found me.

I just got to work 30 min ago and it's been quiet so far! We're having our holiday party tomorrow during the lunch hour so tomorrow should fly by hopefully.

i had a word with my boss and the short story is, its full time or nothing. which has bummed me out a bit, i really wanted to stay on at disney

That sucks, Karen. If you're going to be unhappy there, don't go back. Maybe stick with Disney and look for something else part time in the meantime.

My day has been pretty quiet. I'm yawning as I type this lol.

i really want to stay at disney, but its only 12 guaranteed hours, and i'd be stupid to turn down a full time job for the sake of 12 hours a week.
i dont know what it is but i just really dont want to be back at the theme park. i dont even know why.

If you really don't want to be there, don't go back. It's that simple. I know it's a full time job but if you don't think you're going to be happy there, then forget about it.

ITS SNOWING!!! i know thats no real big deal, especially with the weather you guys have had over there recently, but where we live, it hardly ever snows..... and if it does it never settles properly. i cant remember the last time we had this much snow!
the only problem is, disney called me earlier and i'm doing overtime tomorrow, so i've gotta try and get to lakeside in the snow. our country really does not deal well with bad weather, so its going to be chaos. have decided to get the train in as the roads are going to be a nightmare......

It's supposed to snow bad here tomorrow. Ugh. I'm happy I don't have to work so I don't have to deal with driving in it. You can take all of our snow, Karen. I don't want it.

I don't have to work another Saturday til January 16! That's Joey Mac concert day too!

yay for no more saturdays for a while!! i'm working tomorrow then got sunday off. it wasnt actually too bad with the snow today, i took the train in, and had no problem.
i think it actually made me look good, as one of the other girls at disney lives about 3 towns over from me (closer to the store), and she called in saying she couldnt get to work, and i was already there
not sure if its supposed to snow more or not, but i'm a bit worried about gary, he's flying back from germany today, and is supposed to be driving straight from heathrow airport to scotland for the weekend. as of an hour and a bit ago, his plane was already 2 hours late because of snow in frankfurt, and not sure how bad the roads are at the mo. its a long enough drive at the best of times (8 hours), let alone when there's black ice on the roads. i know what he's like, instead of coming home and setting off when it gets worse, he'll end up driving up tonight, will get tired at some point, pull over, have a sleep and probably nearly freeze to death. he's too stubborn to be sensible though!

Hello one and All!!! Sorry I haven't been around so much, we have been remodeling our house, I had Swine Flu...then Bob got laid off. It has been an interesting couple of months. But today's big news is.....drum roll please.......

BOB AND I ARE GRANDPARENTS!!!!

Bob's daughter Brittany (she is 25) had a baby girl at 12:31 am this morning. The baby is 7 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. They have named her Emma, which I think is really pretty....but for some ungodly reason they have given her the middle name "Moon" . Anyway, mother and baby are doing fine, from what I hear our Son-in-Law is beside himself with happiness. I am not sure when we will get to see the baby because Bob doesn't want to run into his Ex-Wife...so we probably won't get to see her until Christmas Day. I of course have already spent the morning buying everything Princess at the Disney Store...gotta start her off loving Disney right away!

Speaking of Disney...what is this I hear that there may be a September meet? We are in....you don't have to twist my arm to get me to Disney World!

I will check back here later, I have to leave this job and go to the one at the Drug Store....I will leave you with Lilo's Picture with Santa!

congratulations donna and bob!!! you'll have to show us a picture! its never too early to start getting them hooked on disney!

yeah, me and gary are (in theory) coming back over in september 2011, doing 1 week disney, 1 week cruise, and as its soooo far in advance, was wondering if anyone else would fancy a trip down to disney and we can all meet up again! or if you can all swing it, book the october 1st 2011 7 night western cruise, its not that expensive, and we can all go cruising again!!

Congratulations!! Great news, especially in the wake of the other things you mentioned.

Not this upcoming September but 2011. It's a little ways away yet! I'm not sure about the cruise but I have no problem spending a week in Disney! I'm hoping they release one of those 25/nt/person deals for April 2010. It's me and Joe's 5 yr anniversary and we were looking into maybe taking a cruise to celebrate!

I already have tons of Disney presents for Emma, she is going to be a Disney Princess from Head to Toe! I even ordered Winnie the Pooh baby booties and the bottom of the booties are printed with "Princess Emma 12-18-09" Here are some pictures of her....

So....it must be destiny that we have another group cruise...because I am already booked on the Western Cruise on October 1st, my stateroom is 7066. I booked it before we got off the ship! It really is "A Small World" after all!

been working again today (and tomorrow) and cannot get over how grumpy and bad tempered people are 3 days before christmas! cheer up people! only one more shift to go before i stop for xmas!

I can't believe Christmas is on Friday. It snuck up so quickly!!! I just ordered Joe a video game that I have to pick up instore sometime this week. At least it's already paid for so I'm thinking picking it up won't be such a hassle. At least, I hope it won't be!!!!

good luck, although i'm guessing tomorrow afternoon (if its open) wont be as bad, i think today and tomorrow morning will be crazy busy, but it should quieten down tomorrow afternoon as people will want to be back home getting ready.
i think today at disney is going to be hell, its been bad the last couple of days, people are way too stressed out (its not my fault you left everything to the last minute, so stop taking it out on me!), dowright rude, or just p*ssed off. plus we've been really busy, and majorly understaffed. not a good combination. but its my last day at work before christmas. (on a different note, tomorrow is the deadline for people applying for permanent jobs, so i'm still holding out some tiny bit of hope that they'll throw me a lifeline and keep me on with about the same amount of hours i'm doing at the mo. otherwise i've gotta go back to the theme park)

and i know its still 2 days to go, but i know some people are only popping in here and there at the mo, so

This week has just been crazy busy. Monday night I had work and then Joe's movie premiere. Yesterday was work and a family Christmas party. More work today and then going out for drinks with my co-workers. When I get home I have to bake cookies and make spinach dip lol. Tomorrow I work until 1 and then I have to pick up my sister, stop at Best Buy, stop at the food store, and drop something off at my cousin's house. Then I have to wrap the rest of my presents, meet up with Joe's family for dinner, and then have dinner with my own family. And on Christmas, I have to drive to my brother's which is about a half hour north of where I live and then back south, about 70-80 min to Joe's dad's. All this craziness for ONE DAY! Saturday and Sunday I am not getting out of bed!

It sure is weird that you picked that date for the cruise. We chose it because it won't conflict with my 2011 travel schedule for work. Of course it was also good that it is two years out since we are going back to Disney April 28, 2010.

I have to work tomorrow at my drug store job....I have worked the last 4 Christmas Eves, and I know it is going to be like hell on earth. I will spend my 8 hour shift selling gift cards and liquor. Last year we had to lock the doors a half hour before closing just to make sure all the cashiers could get everyone checked out. It was insane! The store will close at 6, then I have to run home, shower and change...head to Bob's parents house, go to church with them, then go back to their house for cocktails and a late supper. After that we head home and start prepping for Christmas Breakfast for the family(Bob's parents, Brittany, Jose, the baby, my brother Greg, Allen, his girlfriend LaQueshia, Kelly, Bob and I). Then it is a few hours of sleep, wake up cook everything, have breakfast, open presents....clean up the mess....shower, change, go to Bob's parent's house again,have dinner, come home and collapse. The Holidays are exhausting!

whoa! glad i havent got as much of a hectic few days as you guys! i'm not working now til boxing day, so my main job for tomorrow is to give cerby a bath, and make a cheesecake for the family dinner on saturday.
hope your days at work go ok, today at disney was quieter than the past two days (thank goodness), and seemed to go quicker too.
got my cast christmas gift, which is cool, its a lovely tree decoration and a pin (which gary is NOT allowed to steal).
and found out that i'm being kept on after xmas!! should be getting about 20 hours a week, plus overtime, but i should find out exactly what hours on saturday!
