No documents yet.

:thumbsup2 Ditto...and for some VERY frustrating reason I can not register online at DCLs website.... uugggg it is driving me crazy

Can you all belive it is only 18 days!!!!! I have been a list making fool. :joker: the past few days... :lmao: Well, i'm off to call Disney and to reserve a car....OMG which by the firggen way... I CAN NOT wrap my brain around this one... to rent a mini van it for the 2 days before and the 1 day after the cruise is $312......BUT to rent it for those three and the 7 for the cruise is $309

Yikes, that's a lot of dough! Big families are big bucks, aren't they. It wasn't completely our choice to stop at 3 kids but if there were more, I don't know if we'd be going on a second cruise in less than 2 years. It's costing enough with just 3 kids.

Speaking of travel costs. I double checked our Auto Train reservations and it's a good thing I did. Bad news. The return date was incorrect! Worse news, to change the date was 170.00 more. I was so bummed. BUT, when I called Amtrak back to ask about whether the tickets would be mailed or we were ticketed at the gate, I got good news. The same representative I spoke to previously answered the phone and she told me she made a mistake and the cost was actually 12.00 cheaper than our original reservation. She emailed me the confirmation, and sure enough instead of 608.00 the cost was 596.00 What a roller coaster ride.

I called AAA and my TA said the documents are there but the little gift album we get won't be in until Thursday. Also, I have to go get them. The office doesn't like to mail documents. They've had some bad situations with documents that never arrived.

Sixteen more days until we leave!! :cool1:

Good morning everyone :wave2: -

I am sitting here at my desk trying to concentrate on work :surfweb: and all I can think about is that in 16 days we will be leaving for FL!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :woohoo:

I have been so stressed out at work lately that I NEED this vacation bad.

I am really doing my homework for this trip. I have been re-reading my Passporter Cruise Guide and watching our tape of Disney related Travel specials.

And every night my youngest DS and I watch a Disney movie to get us in the mood (I won a contest a few years ago where the prize was 25 Disney videos!). So far we've watched Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Last night we watched Toy Story and tonight we will watch Toy Story 2! :happytv: popcorn::

I am sooooo amped for this trip it is ridiculous.

I hope everyone has a "Magic"al day! :wizard:

I am back from our weekend trip to Atlanta for my daughter's soccer tournament. We stayed at the Marriott Evergreen resort on Stone Mountain, what a beautiful hotel. Stone Mountain is a fun place to visit, what little time we had between soccer games was spent at the resort pool or visiting the mountain attractions. We plan on going back again and will be booking through Priceline again, we only paid $85 a night while the going rate was $199 and the rack rate was nearly double that.

Well DD team won their division and came back with a huge trophy. She is so proud of herself, as she should be because she played wonderfully all weekend and was voted MVP of the tournament by her coach.I went to the airbrush store yesterday and had them do a t-shirt for her with 'Atlanta Cup Champions' her name & number and her team name on it. She was so excited when she saw it and wore it to school today. This is the kid who had 2 left feet when she started playing rec ball 3 years ago.

Now I can concentrate on the cruise. Have finally brought DS suit for formal night and DD has 2 dresses for formal & semi night. Not sure what I am going to wear. I hate clothes shopping as I can never find anything I like, or if I do it's not at a price I am willing to pay.

Did we decide on a day and time to meet? I can't believe how little time there is left before we cruise and I know the next 2 weeks are going to fly by. DS has his first soccer game this Friday. I am glad I only work part time otherwise I don't think I'd ever be ready for this cruise.

I'm still here, just swamped with things to do. Laundry is taking forever to do as I'm having issues with the plumbing. I don't want to call a plumber because my Dad will be visiting soon and he is the only plumber I trust. Plus you can't beat his price ;) .

I've been making lists, they help. I'll be flying out this Sun. (the 10th) for the first leg of our trip. I'll check in on this thread from my Mom's computer to make sure of the group meet and any other last min. stuff you all talk about.

The kids are starting to get excited! I'm already excited :sunny:

Getting very frustrated at with my TA. I called Cruise.com to find out about the delivery of my documents and the chick was down right rude. I will never, ever book with them again!!! I hear Costco is the way to go.

Anyway, I have started packing....yes it takes 3 weeks to accomplish.

I look forward to meeting my fellow DISers :grouphug:

What did you say to her? What did she say to you? If you have the time, tell us the story. Inquiring minds want to know.

Congratulations to your daughter and her team, Angie!

I hate shopping, too. I still don't have a dress for formal night but I might wear what I was going to wear for semiformal night on formal night and wear something else on semiformal night. We're trying to pack as light as possible this time.

I'd really like to be able to concentrate on getting ready for the trip but my time is taken up with either homeschooling or house cleaning for showings.

I really wish I could start packing but like Monica, we are still showing our house so I can't spread out all the packing supplies like I normally do in our office. I am ready to get started but I just can't make the mess.

Oh Monica, I hear you on the homeschooling taking up your time. I haven't packed yet and I 'm starting to get nervous about it.

I found a gorgeous beaded gown at Nordstrom's Rack yesterday. It might be too much though for formal night, I haven't decided yet. I've got to buy shoes for each child. Right now they own none, we just wear rubber slippers (flip flops) or crocs for the last two years. At least I can wear heels barefoot.
I don't think I could handle getting into hose or socks.

Sounds good on the meeting time and place. I'll be there for sure. I don't know how many family members I will have in tow. See you all there!

Our cruise docs came today!! FINALLY! WOO HOO!! :cool1: We leave in EIGHT days for our week at WDW before the cruise! I am excited to hear that other homeschool families will be aboard.

Hi everyone!

Sorry, I haven't been here in awhile, I've been working too many nights in a row. Whenever I work more than 3 in a row, my evenings become kind of foggy.

3:00 on Day 1 sounds good to me!

We got our travel docs on Monday. I haven't started filling them out though.

We're leaving two weeks from today. We're planning to drive down from Ohio overnight and arrive at the Residence Inn at PC sometime Friday afternoon. The cheap airline tickets my BIL told us about were not as cheap as he said... :furious: Oh well, that is why we own a van, it makes for a very comfortable trip!

Hope everone is having a good week!

I am game for a meet whenever the majority decides :sunny:

Hey, Datsy,

We're staying at the Residence Inn as well. What did kind of fare did your BIL tell you about? I saw some great last minute fares on Ding for Southwest. We're taking the Auto Train. I hope it's not too delayed like it usually is.

He told me he had seen fares from $100 round trip from Dayton to Orlando. I could never find them. Southwest had $69 one way which is good, but by the time you add in taxes and fees it is much cheaper to drive. This will be the 4th time in three years that we've done this drive, so we're pretty used to it.

I'm with you on driving. Once in a while Southwest's Ding rate for Baltimore to Orlando or Philly to Orlando o/w is 44.00. With taxes, it would cost our family a little over 500.00 for plane tickets. Of course, if we fly, we have land transportation to arrange and possibly parking for 10 days if we don't get a ride to the airport, so it's either a wash or cheaper to drive or take the Auto Train. If we hated the drive or physically couldn't hack it, that would be another story. Dh and I would like to take a cruise just the two of us some time. In that case, we'll fly.

What do you like best about the drive? We like to listen to books on tape. It takes a little work to find a book that doesn't have parts we don't want the kids to hear. On one of our last trips we listen to The Pushcart War.

What do you think of this idea? When I used to go to rubber stamping conventions many of us would bring little creations we've made to trade with other rubberstampers. It's kind of like pin trading I would think. Might it be fun to find something little and inexpensive from our home state to share with the others at our Dis meet? Since I live in NJ, your all getting a bottle of toxic waste!

Cruise docs came this week!! Our TA even sent goodies for the kids which got them even more excited (if that's possible).

Today my DW had rotator cuff surgery and we leave in two weeks! She was hoping to be able to wait until after the cruise, but the pain got to be too much. It's a good thing we are just wanting to relax on this cruise. She had not planned any excursions -- the most strenuous thing she wants to do on this cruise is the galley tour (although I do plan to parasail myself).

We believe it will still be a great time even if she has limited mobility.

KS, I'm sorry to hear your wife has been in so much pain. Yes, a cruise with limited mobility is better than being fully agile and not being on a cruise. I hope she is at a level of comfort to be able to enjoy herself every day of the cruise. Dh didn't have surgery but he did have a procedure done right before our cruise last year. It was the kind guys recover from very quickly if they take the doctor's instructions seriously and stay off their feet for a couple days and apply ice to the incision site.

I picked up our documents today. AAA gave us a fine looking CL photo album.
