congrats on the job. I went for an interview today, theres a new hotel opening up, and they were taking applications along with interviews today, Must have been 300 people there. The sad thing is it runs from 9-6 and I left at 10:30, my interview went well but most likely they will have well over 1000 applicants for maybe 30 positions, so I'm not gonna hold my breath. It's so sad to see how bad this country has gotten in the last few years, so many people out of work. I'll keep looking.

It's amazing to see how hard some areas are getting hit for jobs... I live in a small mining town, so we haven't been hit as hard as some areas. We're in a bubble! I currently have 3 jobs... anyone want one?!?! Here's hoping that there are enough jobs to keep everyone cruising!

You guys who've received your kits, did you already pay your cruises off? Can someone tell me if the kids still have a meet thread going? I've been trying to find it again w/ no luck. My 11 yr old is looking to get to know some people before the cruise.

No, I haven't made my final payment but I have been on a disney cruise before, not sure if that matters. Its a big yellow envelope with a brown booklet inside listing shore excursions, gifts, setting sail, vacation protection, etc, it does have my sail date and res # on the letter enclosed but nothing else.

I got mine today.. haven't even opened it yet. I was paid off but had to make a chance so now I owe $2. yes. two single dollars. heheheh Friday is payday and I am going to be making an OBC payment so I'll be back to paid off then.

We got the kit. I assume only Castaway Club members got them since they list 6/21 as the first date to book Palo/excursions. Nothing terribly exciting, though. Same stuff you can see on the official DCL site.

We got our kit today and we are first time DCL cruisers....my mother-in-law, who is going with us, received hers about 5 days ago and she is a first time DCL cruiser also.

Hi All, it's been awhile and I am only able to grab a few minutes. Life is so full right now. Not one down day for last 12 so I promised myself I would not leave my house at all yesterday, then got a call that my Dad was in ER with chest pain, all day in ER but he is home and resting, nothing cardiac rather pluratic pain but at 76 it's always scarey. So today. . .I am not leaving my home . . .until I run out of Diet coke or Milk!

Trying to stay excited in light of the swine flu thingy but actually a bit worried as to how it will all pan out. suddenly glad to be a few months out still but do realize influenza will be picking back up around that time as well. Wow. just a lot to think about.

Wish I had time to respond to everyone individually, but yeah! on the job, remember it only takes one buyer for the house, bum on the 1st shift differencial pay, but yeah on the yard sale $$$, bum on the economy Still, and we received both of our packets (one for each cabin) within a day of each other in last 3 or 4 days (forget exact day) first time cruisers/not paid off (waiting for July 3rd to do that!), hhhmm, oh and about that kiddo thread, thanks for bumping it up, but my DD (who I talked into starting the thread) has lost interest (no one her age responded) but am glad someone is making use of it!

gotta run, silly children, want to eat again! what's up with having to feed kids 3x a day plus snacks? Okay, excited about the cruise again if just for that reason! Disney service rocks!

Thought I'd throw my 3 cents worth it! I got my packet yesterday... returning cruiser, not paid off! But am quite excited to look thru it as my last cruise was one of the "special" Mexican Riviera ones, so I know nothing about the other side of the ocean! I'm leaving for the rest of the week for our high school's choir competition in San Francisco (I'm the pianist and a chaperone) so I'll have plenty of bus time to read and plot and plan! Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

I am still losing weight so I think I will wait on looking for now. 25lbs down and still more to go! What kind of shoes are you wearing..I was thinking of wearing a nice pair of beaded sandals, but I don't wanna be too informal. Thoughts?

Also...I GOT MY PACKET ON TUESDAY!!! I read through it right away It doesn't have anything most of us wouldn't already know, but it's nice and handy and has some good reminders. It aso tells you the official date you can book: June 6th for me!

Is anyone else doing Disney before and planning on getting tix for MNSSHP tomorrow when they go on sale? I am so excited! This is our second time doing this and we can't wait! Hope everyone is doing well

Thanks Holly!!! I am going to wear hot pink slide-in sandals with a heel one night (with hot pink jewelry) and black strappy sandals on night and pearls to formal night with a black wrap!

We are doing MNSSHP and tickets go on sale tomorrow...do not know if I will buy tomorrow or wait a little...I need to pay off my cruise 1st!

No packet here AND yes I did ask dh who DID go thru the mail? Maybe soon!

Must say, looking at your dress just reminds me of how old I am tho!

I once heard if you wore the style once and it went out of style and has now come back into style? You are to old to wear it now. oh bother. And considering my teenage daughter thinks all the stuff I wore in the late 60's is so hip now, that about sums it up for me. so sad!

We have to be away this weekend to attend a 50th wedding anniversary and when I mentioned to my DH he would need "dress up a bit" for it? The face I got was not one I appreciated. At least it is not a really formal thing.

Still wondering what my crew and I will end up wearing for formal night.
