9/10/2012 ~ 6 WONDERful nights ~ VC to L.A.

Hello all,

My DH and I are going to be booking this cruise later this month. We will be in a 7A. I have sent a request to be added to the FB page. This is our "getting to gold" cruise. We are one away from gold and would like to be there before our B2B Christmas cruises in Dec 2013, so we are hopping on this one. This will be the first Disney cruise that we have take by ourselves. I look forward to getting to know you all in the next couple of months.

Welcome to The cruise we are also looking forward to getting to know you as well. Congratulations on getting to gold.

I'm more worried when there isn't availability. Can't forget the last Med cruise that suddenly got pulled and cancelled. Apparently for a private charter. More bookings the better! Am getting more excited now...we have a week cruise on NCL Scandanavia/Baltic first week June then that is taking a little of our attention, then we will be in full planning mode for this....:)

THe med cruise just prior to the WB TA was chatrered out. The person that did that paid for all changes that needed to be made as well as inconvience fees.

Ok it is official. We are booked. Deck 6 cabin 6139. Whoo Hoo!!

It will be me and DH (Dom262).

Is anyone else getting excited? It is only four months today until we get on board the Disney Wonder. I have been sewing the Fish Extender (almost done), Searching for FE gift ideas (suggestions welcome), and planning the girls surprise (still a secret). Now if the time would speed up for four months and then slow to a snails pace for the trip.

You are not alone! I give myself the mental image of boarding the ship to send myself to dreamland every night.

Me too! DH and I are Cruise Crazy right now.

I've also read the heck out of our Passporter book, and I'm thoroughly caught up on the homemade part of the FE gifts, until someone else joins.

BK, FE gifts vary, it can be something special that you made, or a bag of goodies. Some people do a stateroom gift, some people do gifts for each person. Do a search for FE or Fish Extender here on the forums, or even in Google to see what people do.

It feels to me like everyone on this trip is pretty relaxed about it, and there are no specific rules or guidelines for what to give, which I like. My opinion is make it fun, and something you'd like to get. If it's going to be a burden to do the gifts, then it defeats the purpose, imo... which is to have fun!

I am jealous of those of you that have the talent to sew things. I have a sewing machine gathering dust in our garage because it doesn't like me. My FE is a canvas zipper bag from Joann's that I'm using iron-ons and fabric paint to decorate... since it's just the 2 of us, we don't really need pockets.

Yaaah I Have finished our FE

We now know what we are doing with our gifts and I have begun the work on them.

Mine was sitting for years as well but this was just the excuse I needed to bust it out, I am now re-learning to sew again and teaching my daughters to sew, My DW just looks on and shakes her head because I have to keep pulling the wool over my kids eyes about this trip.

My DW has to listen to my dreaming and planning etc... I am so excited as I have been wanting to do this trip for years. My wife is worried I will be disappointed because she thinks my expectations are to high.

My DH and I had to change our vacation plans and won't b joining u all but I hope u all have fun!

I hope you all have a wonderful cruise we have decided to drop this cruise and head to WDW and a 4 day dream cruise instead.:)

Best of luck to all of you who aren't going to be joining us on our fabulous cruise. It is amazing to live in a time and place where there are so many wonderful choices.

I hope everyone got their DL/DCA tickets that wanted them, the prices have increased over the weekend.

I called my TA, as Flight Centre had a deal on them and she mentioned that if we as a group sign up on Cruise Critic and do a roll call we can get a room reserved on the ship to do a meet. Not sure how it works, but was wondering if anyone else knows anything about it?

I have been on several other cruises with CC roll calls, RCCL arranges a room with some light snacks, Carnival sets aside an area, a lounge usually but no snacks. DCL has limited exposure on CC, mainly because most cruisers are on here. There is a Roll Call thread for this cruise on CC, but it is very in active. You also must have 25 CC users registered before they consider it a real roll call group.

25 doesn't seem like too many. If everyone goes over to register then we would have a room set for us and not have other guests in the room that aren't part of our group.

My TA mentioned CC back in Dec when I booked and I don't believe there was a group for our cruise at that time.

If it works properly this is the link to the roll call I stumbled on it a while back but there was no activity over there and then I found Disboards.

Isn't the FE group already planning a meet up on day one? IIRC, DCL does not reserve rooms with out people paying for catering. Someone in the group that wants to set up a reserve room might want to call DCL reservations and ask for group dining, they handle the room/lounge/bar set ups. Every DCL Cruise I have been, the DIS group has net in the Pronmenade Lounge or Diversions at about 3pm. Informal, just to give out group lanyards and gifts, or say hello, put faces to DIS IDs.

Fat bald camera guy here! I really can't wait to go on the cruise, so I changed my calendar to September. I feel better already!

Just wanted to say hello. :)
