Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. We are very excited to do our first Disney cruise and can hardly wait for September. I hope we get our cabin assignment soon. We booked the cat 12 cabin so hopefully we get an upgrade.

Renegade7,

I have emailed the company for Malta and gave them a list of sights we wish to see. The island is small and the driving distance between sights are not that long. We were able to see Mdina, Tarxiem Temple, Mosta, Hypogeum temple and Valletta last year with only a 5 hour stay in port.

We would like to visit the following sights: with pickup at cruise terminal waterfront at 8:30 am and drop off at 5:00 pm
Mdina & Rabat
Hagar Quim Temple
Dingli cliffs
Blue Grotto
Marsaxlokk
3 Cities: Cospicua, Vittoriosa, and Senglea (across from the Valletta harbor)

The company will provide us with a van that can seat up to 10 people and an English speaking driver for 130 Euros (that's per van not per person). I emailed them back to check on a car that can seat 4 if I can't get a bigger group. I will let you know when I hear back from them.

We would love to have you join us. If anyone is interested, please let us know.

I sent an email off to my cruisemate (as she is not online too oftern). This looks good. I just want to check that the Blue Grotto means getting into a boat and going out there (I know that sounds dumb, but I would hate to be disappointed).

Yeah more B2Bers!

if they want lanyards from the WBTA (& B2B) thread...have them PM me (if they're on the boards---if not then you could certainly order lanyards for them yourself!)

Renegade7,

I've heard back from the Malta company, Low Cost Transfers, and they said a car that can hold 4 will be 100 Euros for the same itinerary.

Yes, for the Blue Grotto, we catch the small boats that leave from between 9am and 4pm from the tiny harbour of Weid iz-Zurrieq and cruise for about 30 minutes before reaching the caves (weather permitting). I'm not sure what the exact cost is, but I think it's around 8 Euros per person.

When we were in Valletta last year, we had the driver drop us off at the top of the town after the tour. We finished our tour early that day and had about 2 hours before the ship left. We visited the main sights of Valletta and then walked down to the ship. I think we can do the same on this trip.

We hope that some more people would join us so we can get the 10 seater van. If not, it would still be very economical for just the 4 of us.

pirate:

Yeah, Steve says he wants to make this one and he's tentative for attending. I have until the 15th to confirm him. If not, I'll be traveling with a couple friend of mine. I met them back in '07 on the Wonder Caribbean so we like to travel together. They are awesome. Anyway, back to Steve, Sept is our year end so if he can't get away, hoping one of the kids will come along. If he can't, he will probably accompany April in on the 17th or 18th, if I can swing the school. I am in the process of writing some letters to see if they will excuse her but it doesn't sound possible. The darn girl is way over involved to name a few: Campus Ministry, KAIROS leaders, NHS, 2 AP classes, 1 honors, March for Hunger and volleyball and soccer to name a few. So, if they will allow it, she should be coming along. More down time on this one for her to do some homework with 5 days at sea and she'd only be missing 1 more day of school as opposed to the 10 day which is more port intensive.

Tell Helen to get ready to sway with me. :lmao: (And Lord help us if Footloose comes on - I  that song. ) :rotfl2:

I'm so excited I can't even think or write those letters to the school. And zilch on any housework. I've done absolutely nothing. Oh well, I know what I'll be doing on the morning of Sept 18th - :laundy: onboard the ship. :lmao: Working on getting close to my "other cabin" Fingers crossed.

Hi Connie,

Yes, I have space for 4 of you for the Malta tour.

DisneyVegas1,
I will check with the tour company and see if we can get a slightly bigger van that can accommodate more than 10. Currently, Renegade1 has 2 people and that would make 8 of us before adding you. I would love to have you join us if I can. I will email the company and get back to you.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is going home on the morning of disembarkation.
We have a 10:30 am flight out of BCN and will most likely take a taxi to the train station and then take a train to the airport from there.

If anyone planning to get a private shuttle to the airport that morning?

Also, does anyone know if Disney offers an option to allow you to get off the ship early if you take your own luggage down? RCCL gave us the option last year.
